So, what do you think is next, considering that the pro-EU protest movement is continuing to grow & spread and not even the government or police interference can seem to stop it dead in it’s tracks?

For some weird reason, though I know that many people here feel jaded about this causing achievements about democracy, I feel strangely optimistic about this.

The fact that Russia isn’t even getting directly involved is interesting to me, considering that normally they would do a type of thing in this sort of situation.

I think the protests are rapidly becoming a consensus about change in Georgia.

You guys deserve better, for everything that your shitty leadership has put you through. Keep on doing what you are doing. Thanks.

[PSA] If you want to support the protests from abroad, consider donating to Nanuka's Fund

Nanuka's Fund is managed by Nanuka Zhorzholiani and is the most reliable way of supporting the protesters that I'm aware of. The collected funds go towards supplies, transportation and fines for the arrested activists. Nanuka provides detailed breakdowns of the spending via her FB page.

Is there hope?

I don’t think that these protests will change anything i think we need something more serious. Dictatorship doesn’t fall like this. They fail because they don’t have any other choice. When revolution in Ukraine happened Yanukovych didn’t have any other choice. People occupied all important buildings and police and elites stood with people. At the end he had to flee country and beforehand he was furious that he had to give up power. On the other hand protests in Belarus were peaceful and at the end nothing happened

If we take any other revolution everything happened because either police, army or elites took new leader’s side. Even during rose revolution Saakashvili took Rurua and other influential people on his side with police though it was weak back then.

But I don’t see that happening in Georgia. Everyone is police and army are bribed and they are deep in Ivanishvili’s pockets. I think that today’s opposition leaders can’t negotiate with people who have power to take their side. I think that they don’t try either. Plus they don’t take any bold actions all they say is “peaceful protests” and talk between each other which to be honest won’t change anything. I don’t see Kobakhidze saying we rigged elections and let’s have a new one. What is most comical is that opposition leaders discuss how new elections must be held before whole thing is under question. Wtf? I think they should negotiate with some army generals, people from police to try to get them on their side. But I don’t think that they are doing that. Also today’s statement from zurabishvili was pathetic that oppositian parties should not lead protestations. Because we need strong and decisive leader who is ready to take risks like Saakashvili.

My fear is that people will get frustrated that nothing changes lose hope and nothing will change.

So What are your thoughts? What should we do?
