I know you can get custom jerseys on some websites, but I need one that matches the 1994 style. Thank.

Why I think Trevor Zegras isn’t as bad of a fit as initially thought.

First and foremost, sorry for the novel. Got a little carried away but re-read it and didn’t find the need removing any of it.

I have been seeing a bunch of rumors stapling Zegras and the Rangers together. While I’ve been completely against the idea based on what I’ve been reading from you guys and Twitter, I decided to go watch some film on him today and I’m quite impressed and maybe that’s because I thought so lowly of him? He’s far from perfect, but he just might be the guy to get Mika and Kreider going. Highly advise to look into him and his non-goal highlights and not just bandwagon your opinion like I did unfortunately.

Forget his lacrosse goals and his between the legs goals. No one that wants to win a Stanley cup cares about that kind of stuff. It’s cool to watch don’t get me wrong, but that’s all I’d really seen of him so my opinion was that he wouldn’t really workout well here.

After watching some videos on him, my opinion on him has changed. He seems to be elite at zone entries as well as playmaking ability. Which correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure I just saw our 1C request a playmaking wing, just so happens that Zegras can fit that mold while he also possesses a wicked shot. The other obvious option would be Patrick Kane which MAYBE solves the problem for 1-2 years max. Another small thing I noticed about Z is he always keeps his feet moving constantly which gets a lot of penalties called and gets the D moving. Small things like that create special players.

I hope Zibanejad and Kreider get split up but if that’s not going to happen, he would be an ideal fit for those two. Also a good time to point out Peter Baugh from The Atheltic, "What we can say is that Zegras, who trains in the offseason at Prentiss Hockey Performance alongside Chris Kreider, has had the Rangers as his ideal destination for a long time." Seems like a good starting point for some chemistry if that line sticks together.

Zegras is listed as a center, but he played wing most of this last year when he was healthy as it fit his play style a little better. With his questionable defense, my hope would be a change of scenery and a better structured coach and system would do him a lot of favors in his own zone, but with that being said, granted only 30 games last year at wing, his defensive numbers looked far better. Small sample size but big enough to see it might be his best move going forward. Seems like a far more natural position for him.

Please remember, scoring is important in the playoffs too. One last point. If size is the most important thing, why didn’t the Canadians, Caps, Islanders, Sabres, or Blackhawks do well in the Stanley Cup finals? They’re 5 of the top 8 teams in size (Height/weight).

I’m curious what you guys think? I know many people won’t care to read and they will still hate Zegras because of his fancy highlights, but I think he could be an important play driver which Zibanejad so badly needs. I watched every single Stanley cup game and every team had playmakers, even Florida. The difference is, the top teams have elite coaching structure which I believe this team can possess.

It's a great day, Rangers fans

Glen Sather has finally retired and is no longer part of the organization! The man who drafted McIlrath instead of Tarasenko or Cam Fowler. The man who gave out those contracts to Girardi and Staal. The man who signed Tanner Glass! He traded Brian Leetch for a bag of peanuts! Here's hoping that Drury can get rid of Sather's people in the org and finally shift the organization's philosophy.

NY Rangers trivia #2

It’d be remiss of me to not acknowledge the feeling of an impending goaltending renaissance.

Each year that passed, each goalie that developed, you could feel we were on borrowed time with Allaire.

While unclear what his role will be, the hope that he’s been carving a miniature Allaire, like the Geppetto of goaltending development remains strong.

Which..brings us to week two of trivia!

The New York Rangers have had an embarrassment of riches in goaltending for the last 30 years. Name the 2 un-drafted goalies that have come out of the New York Rangers and became starters on other teams in the league. (There’s an argument to Be made that it’s 3. I disagree but an argument nonetheless)

Last 25 years, Rangers who walked in FA or FAs who chose another team??

Hey random question: who is the last great player that was a Ranger who left in FA and signed elsewhere, a Ranger who chose another team despite Rangers offering competitive contract, or a FA who signed elsewhere despite Rangers offering a competitive contract to the one they chose instead? I couldn’t think of someone since Dolan was the owner. Maybe I have a bad memory and can’t think of anyone. Thanks for your help!

First year as a Rangers/NHL fan: who are our top draft prospects?

I'm out of curiosity, like will they automatically go to the Rangers or will they go to the Wolfpack or Bloomington Bison? I have no idea how this works and I would love to know more!

Mika wants a passer

After reading this article, which others have posted already, I wonder if there has been any discussion amongst the group as far as being a rate at Mika’s comment. The fact that he is quoted as saying, they need a passer on their line basically he’s telling everyone that he takes no responsibility and his anemic scoring not only throughout the year but during the playoff run.

Will the Oilers complete the reverse sweep, or will the Panthers avoid infamy and win their first Cup? Either way, should be a good one. Watch and discuss away with your fellow Rangers fans.

What 1st Overall Mechanics and Confidence Looks Like

For the fans who also play hockey, this channel has some great breakdowns of techniques that players of all skill levels can learn. This particular video highlights Laf's goal against Florida, comparing it to a similar goal by McDavid.

I'm sharing it here for two reasons. First, I just think it's a great channel for anyone who wants to improve their own game, and second, I think he correctly identifies how much Laf's confidence has grown and how much more he's capable of. I don't think this coach is implying Laf will turn into the next McDavid - he's generally been viewed in a tier below the McDavids and Crosbys - but Laf is still a special player with unique skills.

Despite the immense disappointment of how the season ended after all the incredible achievements and milestones, I for one am still very excited to see what's in store for our guys, especially Laf. Among all the doom and gloom, some of which is justifiable, I think it's important to highlight how far Laf has come and how much better he potentially could be.

Did we miss out on Kris Knoblauch?

The NHL recycles coaches as everyone knows. There is not enough opportunity for young coaches. This team turnaround has been one of the best turnarounds and coaching adjustments ever.

Did we miss out on a future great coach who was in our system?

The Rangers could have tried the same thing in their end that Edmonton is doing. In hindsight, it seems like an obvious counter.

Personally, I wanted him so I take no blame.

Igor Shesterkin vs Henrik Lundqvist

So... Lundqvist has been my guy for so long. I've been a massive fan. I think without a doubt he's the greatest ranger goaltender of all time. However, I was talking to a fellow ranger fan about the playoffs after the loss, and he suggested that Shesterkin might go down as the greatest Ranger goalie of all time. When I first heard this I was disgusted bc I thought nobody could be as good as lundqvist ever was. But now i'm not so sure... obviously while I love shesterkin, I want lundqvist to hold the title. What do you guys think?

Rutger McGroarty

He's a 20 year old forward (listed in different places as an RW, LW & C) at the University of Michigan right now. He went #14 to the Jets a couple of years ago. It look like from what I have seen today, that he does not want to sign with the Jets. He a player that other teams will be looking at.

But, we have done some business with the Jets the last couple of years. I am wondering if an offer of Chytil, Jones and #30 in the 2024 draft might be at least a starting point for this player. I'm sure that the Jets would want more, but what would the be willing to take in return?

"Where most players outrace, he delays with a cutback or simply entering a glide and angling away from backpressure. Those delays house his playmaking, where he’s deceptive, precise, and identifying the best play. Uses give-and-gos instead of deking, and consistently occupies the space that maximizes his odds of getting the puck back. He’s a bull, too. Relentlessly attacks the inside, combining skill and physicality. -EliteProspects 2022 NHL Draft Guide"
