I've got 2 dead dial shock 3 controllers. They only work while plugged in, and disconnect when there's vibration.

There are many options available on Amazon, and I was wondering if it makes any difference which brand, or should I just go for the cheaper ones?

Hi everyone, a few weeks ago I started using my PS3 again to play its games and especially to collect trophies.

I've seen around that there are programs that allow you to unlock trophies, but I've noticed that these programs make you unlock all of them, and therefore it could ruin the experience a bit (I want to use these programs only to unlock trophies that can only be obtained online)

Is there any program similar to the one on psvita (TrophaxSE, this program allows me to unlock a single trophy, even choosing timestap or unlocking all trophies)?

I've been toying with the idea of trying to replace the HDMI encoder on my ps3, since the HDCP is baked into it. I know it wouldn't be easy to remove, but I'm wondering if it would even work to replace the encoder with one that doesn't use HDCP, or it the console needs some sort of handshake with the encoder, and that no other chips could do that handshake?

My PS3 Super Slim keeps freezing every time.

I recently installed Hen on my PS3 Super Slim and it keeps randomly freezing every time I do some tasks. No matter if I just play a game or open any other app or just go into the settings to change something, it freezes and I must turn it off by long pressing the power button.

I checked the HDD on my PC and there are no bad sectors, power-on time was under 3k hours, and the spindle was pretty good.

The console is not too dirty, the CPU and RSX runs at circa 62°C and 67°C respectively while gaming, do you think that it might need new thermal paste?

I have no more ideas in mind, might be that I'm playing on a 4K TV and it is causing issues with the GPU chip or the HDMI port?

Please help, I don't know what to do to fix this tedious issue...

Whenever I try to open installed pkgs, like multiMAN, that error appears. They install, but they refuse to open. It's not a USB drive problem because the .pkg files are stored on the PS3 hard drive. (The same thing happens when installing through a USB drive too). Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Using CFW 4.91

So a while ago there were some leaks of a cancelled cod game called NX1, you can get it on xbox 360 but what about PS3 ?

Sorry if something like this has been asked before, but I recently bought a PS3 Slim which had HEN installed on it, along with some games. I like to trophy hunt and wanted to sync the trophies I earn on these games to my main account on my PS5, but logging into PSN through my main account with HFW installed could be quite risky.

So I decided to revert back to OFW so that I can safely log in to my main account, but I'm still able to access and play all those games which were installed. Is it okay for me to keep these games and continue getting trophies for them, or is there a possibility of me getting banned? I don't plan on using mod menus/hacks to earn unobtainable trophies, and I am not playing any online games either.

Also I am planning to get a phat OG PS3 mainly for modding and homebrew, so I don't plan on installing any mods on my slim.

I just jail broke my ps3 and installed mulitman I tried putting a PS2 disk and it gave me a black screen I'm a noob to this do I have to install hen in order for the PS2 game to work

Is there a way to format my ps3 by removing all kinds of hen? the situation is as follows my hen for some reason stopped working, even if I activated it and gave me the message that if it is active, it really is not, my version of FW is 4.85 and I cannot downgrade or update officially because it prevents me with a message to search for a firmware version in ps3 xploit and still does not let me install any of them

I have installed a hen on my ps3 slim, the version of hen is 2.3.1 and the firmware of my ps3 is 4.85, however I can't install anything! Is there a way to delete the current hen and reinstall a new one, and I tried using ps3xploit but when I install it I get error 80710a06, can you help me, I can't find any solution to this issue?

It used to start automatically on that tab when inserting a DVD/BD before, but after I upgraded my HDD and formatted it, it doesn't anymore, is there any setting I need to change or something?

i keep wanting to download a certain homebrew app (i’m CFW evilnat 4.91 btw) i download the normal pkg just fine but every single time no matter the homebrew app whether it’s a HFW codes or CFW codes one the fix pkg never installs !!!

Sorry if this is hard to read, i don't speak english that well. Basically title, how can i do to unlock the characters outfits? i downloaded the game from a store, and i have hen on my ps3. However, when i try to enter the campain to unlock te suits it says that i need a package from the psn store, however when i enter, its empty and i have nothing to download. What can i do? I would really like to have the characters suits.

I’ve been playing a game with an online component that has become almost impossible to join. I say almost because there are rare legitimate ways to join, but they require a full lobby which I don’t have. Point is, I have reasonable deniability if this raises any eyebrows at Sony. In evilnat, I noticed the option to unlock trophies, so I unlocked the unobtainable online ones in a plausible sequence and length of time. However, these do not sync to psn. I have subsequently earned the rest of the platinum legitimately. So, if I sync to psn, will it list the platinum but leave the hacked trophies unaccounted for? How risky is this move if so? Thanks!

I have Evilnat Cobra loaded on my PS3 Slim and just spent several days copying games to my hard drive. What is the best way to now back up my hard drive in the event my PS3 or hard drive dies so I don't have to go through that again?

Is there a way to back it up to an external drive and only do a backup (instead of a transfer)? Looking for suggestions. Thanks!

I've spoken with someone who I do not think is trolling me since they did make some suggestions that allowed me to actually get gameplay recording to work and showed me a video they made at 720p. I can't for the effing life of me get 720p to work, the system either crashes mildly or catastrophically. 368p is the best I've been able to manage. I imagine it's a RAM issue and the only difference between my and thier setup is they are on hen and I use cfw (I've tried both rebug and evilnat, cex, pex, and dex) I figured to ask before I commit to mimicking everything they told me which means I gotta remove cfw and try hen for the first time. Is there anything I can do to reduce RAM usage outside of the actual stuff needed to record? Any chance hen uses less RAM than cfw?!? I'm running out of options but whatever, if it's possible I am determined to figure it out regardless. SIGH

I've seen several posts over the past few weeks asking if PS2 games can be played from disc with cfw. The answers have always been a resounding, "no".

The problem I have, however, is that my PS3 slim does just that. Plays PS2 games from disc.

I've ripped multiple games for convenience, but if I want to play a larger PS2 game I don't have space for, I can literally just put it in and play it from the xmb.

Do I have a special model? Did I download something I forgot about that allows it? Am I hallucinating?

I guess my point is, when I delved into modding my PS3 years ago, I somehow made this unobtainable function work.

Can anybody help explain why I have this function but everyone else is telling these newbies that it's impossible?

I put CFW on my CECH-2500 PS3 Slim and I'm curious if it can read PS2 discs? I know the original PS3 Fat model can read PS2 discs but I had read that CFW can play PS2 games via emulator. Can they actually read the disc though?

I tried putting in a couple of PS2 discs and my disc drive makes a unpleasant sound trying to read them. It does show up as a PS2 disc but if I try to copy it, it fails instantly. It's a new disc drive so I wasn't sure if it's the drive or if you can only play them via ISO.
