I'm watching Undefeated: The Roger Brown Story. I've seen this before but it's a good story and an integral part of our franchise history. This guy was incredible! I highly recommend this to all Pacers fans
For my birthday I asked for a hotel downtown Indy (I live in Cincy)
Would it be smarter to buy tickets now? Or wait?
Giannis is doing what he does and scoring 35+ per night with a sorry group of bums.
Our top star is underperforming and (for the most part) our other younger guys are stepping up. Great stuff from Benn and Shep. IJax too until the injury. Siakam goes without saying, as does Pascal.
Would you rather see Tyrese have an All-NBA season wasted by an underperforming team, or would you personally be happier in our situation?
No wrong answers, just interested to get some takes given the ways our seasons have started.
He doesn’t have Neismith athleticism. But Shepp seems like he’s headed towards being a a high IQ starter level 3 and D. In just his second year, it’s amazing. He definitely was in the gym this Summer. With so many negatives with this team at the moment he is a positive. (Also literally with +/-)
I love his confidence is so high now. I’ve seen him take so many shots that he would’ve passed out of last year. Now he’s knocking them down, contested too.
Regardless of how serious IJax and Nesmith's injuries are, we are 2-4 because Haliburton, Siakam, and Turner aren't playing like the big 3 they were last year. Siakam has been good (not great). Its time for Tyrese and Myles to get back to where they were with Pascal last year. The 3 of them compliment one another on offense very well, and they have chemistry. Not sure why that chemistry has been disrupted, but now that our depth has taken a hit, we need those 3 guys to just be themselves.
We've still got very good role players healthy: Obi, TJ, Sheppard
Drew should be back soon, and if Mathurin continues his play, we have more than enough to win games. It all hinges on that "big 3" getting their act together. Because some consistency from Haliburton and Myles would have us sitting at 5-1 instead of 2-4.

it usually takes time to heal from a hamstring injury but i’m still shocked at how bad he’s been this season looking back at his past, i’ll even take his playoff version of himself right now and go from there.
there’s something mentally wrong with him because this clearly isn’t him, you can say his first 32 games of last season was an outlier and not sustainable, but i don’t believe so because he’s been showing improvement ever since he’s gotten into the league.
i’m sure he’ll be back but he needs to do what he was doing each season since he’s gotten here (working on his game), feels like he’s letting the bright light get to him and he’s less focusing on getting better like he did from 2021-2024 and more focused on anything else.
i still believe in him, he’s genuinely a 21/12 guy on 50/40/90 splits and his stats back it up, but he’s got to find his stride again because if we want to be a good team in the future, it absolutely starts with him.
As much as I'd love it to be Enrique Freeman time, the guy is unfortunately only 6'7, so the impact is probably limited. Deserves a shot, but we need someone else, and that someone needs to be big. The free agent market appears to be Javale McGee, Robin Lopez, + Bismack Biyombo. If Jackson is only a few weeks, but very unlikely, then a 10-day or 2 makes sense.
The smart option is a trade for someone. We still have our full MLE available to absorb a contract, so trading Jackson with a 2nd to give us about $7mil to play with under the cap makes sense. No idea how hard it'd be to acquire someone, or what it'll cost us, but Turner with Toppin or Siakam playing backup 5 isn't going to work, as we've seen we get crushed on the boards.
Haliburton doesn't play like IST Haliburton. That IS why they stopped rebuilding and traded for Pascal. The role players last year already proved to be elite, and aren't the issue
Not having a star is the issue. Not only has he not been a star, he's probably one of the top 3 worst players on this team right now.
There are fit issues sure with Pascal in the starting lineup and Haliburton not having space, but he does need to find his game or this front office made major mistakes
Walking double double machine matched up with TJ.
I'm just wondering what the community thoughts are :)
Why not? Turner and KD are the same size...
I think the main thing that is different with Tyrese this year and after the injury last year is that team’s are not doubling him anymore off the pick and roll. And they can do this because he’s noticeably slower , can’t get past anybody that switches onto him, and has no 3 ball now. He feasted in finding the right pass off of the pick last year but there’s nothing for him to pass to this year since the only option teams are giving him is to beat the man off the switch.
Let the downvote parade begin but that doesn't change the fact he looks completely washed up so far this season.

The Pacers love to push the ball up the court, particularly on missed shots and turnovers. This makes rebounding the ball on the defensive end of utmost importance. And yet this team puts no effort into it.
Turner is possibly the most worthless center in the league when it comes to rebounding. But people have been conditioned to believe that because Turner hits 1-2 threes per game, that somehow he is the perfect match for Carlisle's system. There are at least a dozen centers I'd rather have than Turner. We don't need our center to be jacking up threes and scoring 15-20 ppg. We need a center who will grab 9+ rebounds on a nightly basis.
Yes, I realize that might seem insane and it might very well be. I'm not even suggesting I want or think the team should do this. Just wanting the to see this sub's sentiment about the idea assuming teams would even be interested given his current play and contract. Even though it would be selling very low, Haliburton clearly would still bring back the biggest package for us given his age, talent and potential ceiling.
I don't need to rehash his play the last 60 games or so. Everyone on this sub knows what's happened.
If we were to do this, we still have Nembhard and McConnell as our point guards. Also, we all saw what happened when Tyrese was out last season (regular season), and more specifically, against Boston. TJ and Nembhard both stepped up in a big way.
I do think that Haliburton can turn it around but there really is no guarantee.
Thought this team would be really good but this is another pathetic choke. Had a chance to build on that Celtics win (choked away a lead in that one too) and fell flat. Not trying to be super negative but WTF. 2-4.
Is it an issue that I have more confidence when IJax and TJ come into the game than Myles and Hali at this point? I’ll give Myles some benefit of the doubt since he’s still recovering from an injury, but Hali is absolutely indefensible
It's time to test Furphy out as a 4/5 and run these opposing teams into the ground with an even faster pace.
With Tyrese having lower numbers since the injury and Buddy no longer playing for us. Who do you think is out best 3pt shooter?
I’m getting really frustrated with sailing the high seas. The constant drop outs and freezing up during critical moments of the game. I’m willing to pay for a few months to see if it’s any better (yes, I know some don’t have luck with paying, but I know others that do)
Anyone use this option?
I can replace all our streaming services with Fubo for maybe $20/mo extra, but I can’t quite confirm if the Pacers will even be included..
For the “Pro” package, it shows it will come with FD Midwest and FD Ohio, plus it shows 2 “FD Extra” channels. Are the Pacers shown on FD Midwest?
