We got out-rebounded, 34 to 42, and we didn't get to 30 assists again, 21 to 28.
Just throwing an idea out there. I hope it doesn’t happen. We have the talent to turn this around. But theoretically speaking. How bad would it really be if we just sucked for one more year and got a great pick?
You let Haliburton work out whatever he’s going through this year. He’s still only 25 next year.
You concede one year of Siakam’s prime, unfortunately. But he’s still under contract after that.
You make a consolidation trade of some kind to acquire one more playmaker.
You resign Myles, with maybe some cap flexibility from the other moves.
Brother, you got a stew going then.
7-3 at home, 2-10 road. Just an awful road team, dealing with injuries not having a real backup C is an issue if Rick isn’t going to play Moses more than 2 mins a game then that’s a problem.
Good take aways from tonight is that Ty had a great road game. Nemby is working his way back. TJM is the heart of this team.
Everything else was shyt. You would think for a guy who always swipes at the ball, Jarace would have the sense to protect the ball.. Benn needs to catch and shoot when he's open. He killed multiple possessions by passing up shots and either losing the ball or just allowing the defense to reset and making it difficult to find another shot. I don't understand why we have to be down 25pts for these guys to wake up. It's getting to the point where I'm worried Rick might be losing the locker room. That being said, these awful takes from fake fans talking blowing up the team when we're like 2 or 3 games out of the 5th spot is ridiculous. I'm sick of people talking about trading Siakam and whoever. This has nothing to do with talent on our roster. These guys are just being bums!!!!
I know our the main complaint is our defense which yes is poor, but I feel like our offense is awful. I am not that good at paying attention to detail, but I feel like our offensive scheme has changed drastically from last season. So many shots are chucked up early or are taken at the end of the shot clock, and half the time our guys look like they have no idea what they’re doing. What is going on with us this year?
The Pacers were an elite defensive team under Nate McMillan. As soon as Nate Bjorkgren became the coach, they became one of the worst defensive teams in the league, haven't looked back, and it's only gotten worse under Carlisle. This franchise has been playing with fire for five straight seasons, hoping that they can have success while being abysmal on defense.
This has never been sustainable and it never will. In all of sports you have to play defense. You don't have to be an elite defense to win, but you can't be THIS bad. Year after year, Rick Carlisle and company have neglected the defensive end of the floor. And when you play with fire like this for years, this is the result you get. This isn't a fluke season. This has been years in the making. Refuse to play defense and this is how things are going to go.
I can't imagine Netflix thought they would be following around one of the worst teams in the league I wonder if Hali gets cut from the show lol
Low key they are annoying, and they talk over each other. Do they have have beef or just suck?
Speaking of suck, ladies and gentlemen, the Pacers!
This is one of the worst trade ideas I’ve seen in awhile. It’s like they’re trying to fix the Sixers and don’t care about us lol
Myles Turner has been a great pick (I know kinda a no shit moment) but let’s look at the 2015 NBA draft between KP and Myles Turner these men were picked, Mario Hezonja (Liga ACB), Willie Cauley-Stein (FA), Emmanuel Mudiay (BSN), Stanley Johnson (BSL), Frank Kaminsky (FA), Justice Winslow (G-League). So KP and Myles Turner are the only ones on their team / in the NBA. And in an overall weak draft class, Myles turned out to be one of the better picks, and it makes me a little upset when he hasn’t made an All Star team.
I'm in Indy for a conference, and I was looking for the best place to watch the game. Suggestions? Thanks!
As things stand right now, the projected starters are Haliburton, Nembhard, Mathurin, Siakam, + Turner once we are fully healthy. I get the Nesmith love, but Carlisle is very clearly wanting 2 guard line-ups, and I don't see Mathurin getting benched.
Anyway, onto my point. Can our defensive size work off the bench? We have Nembhard playing SG at 6'4 + Mathurin playing SF at 6'5. I look at Houston whose big defensive impact comes when they throw Amen Thompson + Tari Eason onto the court. Can Nesmith coming in at SG + Walker coming in at SF with genuine size work?
(I think we also need to find a defensive big to put behind Turner as well in my opinion)
I was not persuaded by Moses Brown's signing. Is there a center or a wing who can they trade for defense? And is CP3 a good fit as Hali's backup PG?
I’m so sick of coming on here and just seeing everyone bitch and moan about the state of the team. Last year we had no expectations and everyone was just happy to be competitive (I get that expectations change after the Siakam trade). Let’s be real about last year, we finished 6th in the East and would’ve lost in the 1st round if Giannis had played. Then we played the Knicks who didn’t have 3 of their starting 5. Finally, getting swept in the ECF by a team with real championship aspirations that wasn’t on IR in Boston. Now this season, we come in with the mentality that we were in the ECF last year and we should be a top team. We’ve been without 2 of our starters and best defenders for most of the season and we’re only 3 games under .500.
I understand that the team has not played well. I get thinking that there needs to be a change. But if you walked in thinking this team was good enough to go back to the ECF, you don’t have a realistic concept of this team or the rest of the league
A lot of interesting, but well thought out takes on our defensive struggles.

Not that it really matters who this team plays, (meaning most of the time, the better teams we play better) who do you think we get next week? I think there is a very real chance we get Boston at home again, if they don't somehow get the wildcard. That seems unlikely at this point. The reason I say that, is we only have Boston at home once this year. Not sure if the NBA even really looked that closely at those kind of matchups last year (scheduling conference opponets who only were scheduled to play 3 times). We also only have Atlanta once at home, but they have already clinched.
We only play the Knicks and Magic once on the road. But there also will be a intraconference game each night. Give us Boston at home again, and the Lakers on the road (since we go out west anyway, after ) :)
Its also kind of wild that both Celtics and Cavs are playing over .800 ball and both probably not going.
This is what we need from Mathurin. Imagine how sick he would be
Have been trying to get my Dad back into the team and he hasn’t really been invested in since the Reggie era. Would love to find this exact jersey as his favorite player of all time is Reggie and this specific alt jersey. Let me know if you find any ebay listings. Saw the Mitchell & Ness blue one but no player on it is kinda weird to me idk.
