Ever since trump got elected ive seen so many posts about trump lowering prices and curing the world and other crap like that. And ive never understood the logic? He's not in office, so how is everything changed? Does he actually have power as of now, or is the answer way too simple?
There's been a lot of talk lately about this article: https://bigthink.com/the-present/yuri-bezmenov/
They're claiming that it proves that the MAGA movement was the result of a Russian psy-op and that Trump is collaborating with Putin to dismantle the USA. Many of the people who have been talking about this have said that it's basically too late now and that this absolutely means that our freedoms as US citizens are coming to an end, and that Russia will have successfully destroyed/taken over the country and there's nothing we can do about it.
Is there any truth to these claims? Is Russia seriously behind all of this?
I don’t visit /r/casualnintendo very often but I remember it being a pretty good sub for Nintendo talk, but now it seems almost all comments are just people saying ‘what’.
For example: https://www.reddit.com/r/casualnintendo/comments/1gu6bxj/cant_wait_to_play_mario_while_im_doing_somethink/
This post came on my feed randomly https://www.reddit.com/r/Conservative/comments/1guenfy/who_do_you_trust_more/ and comments made me wonder what reason could they possibly have to hate on WHO. I would have asked in that thread direclty, but it's flaired users only.
Edit: Typo in title (Conservative's -> Conservatives)
Over the past year I've started paying attention to music in a more intentional way than I have before. For the past two months or so my phone has been pushing me an endless series of headlines about Spotify Wrapped: When is it coming? How can I influence it now? etc. etc., e.g. here.
I get that it highlights your music consumption (what you listened to the most? I'm not sure), and I guess people like to show theirs off to demonstrate how cool they are? Is that it? Is it any deeper than that? From the sheer amount of people/AI bots writing clickbait about it it seems to be a cultural event on the order of the fall of the American republic or Taylor Swift defeating Mike Tyson in the Super Bowl.
So back in my day science suddenly discovered animal fats were bad, so everything converted over. Now, it seems the tide has turned back and seed oils are getting scrutinized. Is there new science or is it more anecdotal? https://health.clevelandclinic.org/seed-oils-are-they-actually-toxic
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts claiming the fight was fake or scripted: https://www.threads.net/@alifirstmay/post/DCeXsIMtyCl
I’ve also seen insinuations that Jake Paul has paid previous opponents to also throw the fight. Has there been any reporting about Tyson being paid to lose?
I’ve seen a few references to controversy in the UK around farmers and inheritance tax (e.g. https://x.com/lokijulianus/status/1858411726670106963?s=46&t=Sr10dAoR3Z20laqivqpXrg). There seems to be a political split, but I don’t understand it. Can someone provide details and context?
From what I remember, the 4th quarter is normally when companies lay off a bunch of people, and most companies have their 4th quarter around now. It's been hyper focused these past 2 months. Is there causation or correlation here?
*Depending where you get your news it's either Biden or Trumps fault, and I'm getting a lot of bias readings*
Hey, I’m pretty into AI. So I guess Reddit thought r/janitorAI was something for me and recommended it to me. It’s number 9 in AI subs. https://www.reddit.com/r/JanitorAI_Official/?rdt=43138
When i opend it I was totally stumped. It seems to be only totally random posts with no red wire to lace it all together.
Also the subreddit summary and information were no useful. Only a link to their discord.
So my dear redditors can someone explain to me what Janitor AI is?
Title - I've been seeing vague posts and uploads regarding it, specifically with Mogul Mail but everyone seems to just be fence sitting and not mentioning people, whereas comments explicitly mention Keemstar, h3h3, Hassan, and other quite opinionated streamers...
In detail would be lovely too
I still don't understand what this interview's all about even after more than 10 years.
Some say Shailene was being rude but some say that the interviewer was the one being rude, hence, in the wrong.
Can ya'll explain the whole thing?
There hasn't been a single post on WatchPeopleDieInside for the past four days, and only eight posts in the last month. Considering it's a top 100 subreddit by subscribers, this inactivity is unusual. Surely, there must be many people attempting to post, but none of their submissions are being approved.
With over 20 members on the mod team, it's weird to me that none of them seem to be maintaining the sub. Is the mod team intentionally preventing posts from going through? If so, why? Is the inactivity due to overly strict post approval, or has the team collectively decided to let the sub die?
Ethel Cain is a music artist, known for (I think) being trans and making depressing music for queer/noncomforming people who live in small towns that ostracize them for who they are and have histories of abuse and depression. I KNOW she's so much more than this and I'm probably wrong in some way but I'm trying to explain why she's popular to people who don't know about her when im not the most informed about her in the first place.
Anyways, there's a lot of tiktok vids of people talking about her merch. I haven't seen anybody actually reacting to her merch. I've only really seen vids of people making fun of others who reacted to her merch with shock and allegedly said things like "i can't wear Ethel Cain merchandise now". The videos I have seen have mocked those shocked reactions and accused them of not understanding Ethel Cain's art, not being the target audience, or just being posers. They also mention how the" font is very small", so im assuming the shock is from something written on the merch.
The thing is, I can find any of the initial reaction videos or images of what merchandise they are talking about.
I don't know how niche this is or if I'm just not doing a good job of searching but I really want to know what set this whole thing off and I woukld appreciate some help.
It's funny, I'm not sure why I care so much. I respect Ethel Cain as an artist and person but I've never been able to get into her music very much. Everything I've heard hasn't had enough energy to really captivate me. I like depressing and slow music but I need something to balance it out. She's a great artist, just not for me. I love what she talks about tho, from what I iave heard. An artist who I think might touch on similar things and appeal to similarly outcast or hurt listeners, but who carries some fucking ENERGY in her music, is Lingua Ignota. I love her so much.
For reference:
I noticed so many look alike contests have been taking place recently and being talked about on social media. Timothee Chalamet, Dev Patel, Harry Styles, Paul Mescal, etc. I wonder what's the reason behind their sudden rise in popularity and why do they draw so much attention.
According to the latest I have heard, Sweeden has both Joined NATO and is one of of Ukraines stronger supporters in terms of military aid. But I am light on specifics.
What is going on that? And what does that mean for the war in Ukraine? Video where I first heard about this linked here: https://youtu.be/ciG36x4YLFE?si=yg139MGhuUTlxk8T
I keep seeing posts about how surprisingly great the M4 Max is. Like here: https://x.com/chrisprucha/status/1857614864451350944
I get that its a good computer, but its also expensive. What is it about the M4 Max that makes it so amazing that everyone is going crazy over it? Is it that much better?
I am seeing a lot of videos on TikTok and elsewhere like this one with over 1 million likes:

They all claim that the government has confirmed the existence of aliens coming from the ocean. How did this start and what’s it about?
I mean, I know Jake Paul made that mistake years ago in the Suicide Forest. But watching from the sidelines, I read that he picked up boxing years ago and maybe I thought he's now a better person with that outlet to express his emotions. I would have thought that even if either one won, it would be celebrated because 1, Jake is now one of the best at something, or 2, Tyson has the opportunity to bond with a fighter who had the balls to challenge him. Why is there so much distress around it? Is my image of Jake Paul off?

Recently i've been noticing lots of posts on Twitter having a Stake ad. "Gamble Responsibly". Most getting Community noted as well.
Even after a KnowYourMeme search and reading through it, i still find no reason as why people would include the Stake ad on their images/memes, nor i could find Stake doing a promo or some sort. https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/stake-ads-on-twitter-x
Am i missing something? Is Stake doing a promo? Is it for money? Or is it just another meme with no lore and no gain from it?
Ivermectin https://g.co/kgs/oEpwexo I've had friends and family claim it's a super antidote, curing headaches, tooth aches, tumors, etc. And it makes Zero sense to me.
What happened to Tobuscus?
The last post here regarding him was from 5 years ago.
I know he had rape allegations and seemingly smoked crack on stream, but I have just stumbled across his Facebook page and it’s beyond the pale.
He’s constantly posting slurs and genuinely shocking+horrible things. Seemingly to pander to the edgelord hard-right young male demographic. What gives, when did he fall off the deep end?
Here’s a link:

There’s more but this sub won’t allow Facebook links and I can’t be bothered to make an imgur account.
I'm afraid to ask about this one since it has been around for so long.
I am sorry, but I know nothing about the guy. I looked him up on Wikipedia, and I don't get this almost conspiracy-level hate. Is he just a stand-in for the Illuminati? Is this coded anti-semitism? Does he have shady dealings?
Here is an example: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/soros-linked-dark-money-group-props-up-nebraska-independent-candidate-key-senate-race
Thank you all.
Edit for context: these were full grown white adults, with kids. One looked retired.
I’ve used the term all my life sans religion (because the term is so diluted now that it refers to generally well off white people from what I’ve seen / heard.) and now having used it - I got cornered by three other white people online saying it’s offense and gauche to use. I was told that I am stereotyping and generalizing:
“I wouldn’t want to be called waspy or Karen for that matter - all of those terms are offensive! If someone is behaving badly call them on their own merit. Yes things have changed, it’s called political correctness […] yes some act like idiots, thugs, act entitled etc..but don’t classify everyone in the group etc.
After the recent Tyson fight, I realized that I've been conflating the brothers in my head.
I'm their age and I never really hard of them until this week. I tried Wikipedia-ing (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jake_Paul), Google-ing, and searching this sub, but I'm not really seeing anything that explains the "it" factor.
Someone made a Miku song based on the music of Pokémon gen 1, and at 1:39 there’s a section that has the lavender town music.
In a recent trend people have been making animations of characters being hypnotized with the song playing in the background, why is this? What does this mean?
I'm assuming you've all seen them on the front page once or twice... weird comics like this one, which has 40,000 (!!!) upvotes. I don't get it. It's not funny, nor is it particularly interesting, nor does it cater to Reddit's core demographic (25 yr old dudes?). Time and time again these comics get voted to infinity. Not trying to hate, just feel like there's some sort of inside joke I'm missing.
