Hi! My account is new and I’m just trying to post some stuff or comment on my favorite subjects, but almost all subreddits require old accounts or karmas. I’m not here to ask for karma, but I want to understand how I can use this place better to get started. Most of new user friendly subreddits are outside my personal interests.
I made this account today and I couldn’t dm and people couldn’t dm me. I found out it was because my account was so new, but how long do I have to wait until it’s fixed?
Hi everyone, my account is relatively old here but I don't use it much as a result have no karma points to post to even comment in case of some subs now how to increase karma points, some sub requires like 500 karma points just to comment and like 1500-1600 in order to post. Please help out.
Hi all,
Not quite new to reddit, but back after a long hiatus. Where do people tend to stand on chats versus direct messages these days? Are there scenarios where each is more acceptable or is chat the default now and messages are left as a legacy option?
I was able to comment like 5 minutes ago and one subreddit didn’t allow me so I thought it was just a restriction from that one. So I was doing my Reddit thing redditing on a different post and I can’t comment there either or on any other posts. Why not?
?????
I am not new to reddit, however I wanted to make a new 'professional' account for my serious interests, rather than using my old 'just messing around' account. I tried making posts and commenting on subreddits which are related to my area of interest (military history), though everything I have posted so far has remained hidden, which is because those subreddits require a certain amount of karma, right? I don't see how I can gain the needed amount of engagement, if no one can ever see the interesting things I post. So it seems to me I have to come here to get started. This subreddit seems to be one of the only places I can post. None of the other "starting subreddits" have anything to do with my narrow area of interest.
What is it (new here)
I use reddit mostly for going through stuff I rarely interact or post. Today I opened up my profile and saw a post from 1 year ago which I NEVER did. It was on a hookup sub. How did this happen?
I've looked at my profile multiple times but never saw it. It appeared today out of nowhere. I felt so embarrassed. It was a horrible post.
My account is linked to my google. Any ideas how could this have happened?
Long time reader, first time poster. What are the best ways to get deep into the Reddit world?
All answers are appreciated!
I made this account to post in a group to help with my mental health. I just tried to post today, and it said I need 20 upvotes to post. Not sure how to get them unless I post something? Please help me out, I need the group.
I don’t use Reddit much, but I’d like to post in some communities but they don’t let me due to low karma. Any good way to get some?
Why am i sometimes restricted from measuring accounts?
I wanted to text someone but it said account not established even though my account age is more than 2 years, any help?
I'm not understanding anything!!! I feel so lost and stupid 🥺
Okay ... Not going so well... So, I think I'm here for about a week. When I try to post on a sub reddit in another country ( asking for advice specific to that region) a bot automatically kicks it back. Coming from other platforms I wonder how to twist my self into a pretzel so I can interact with other communities? Any advice? I tried like 20 times different spots already, and the only place I can post is right here... I feel defeated 😞
I can’t comment on posts for some reason. Hope someone helps?
I posted a question on AskReddit, but got downvoted to 0. I see I only had 29% upvotes. I had only 1 post karma. I don't think I can afford losing it. So I deleted my post. If I didn't delete my post, and suppose it got more downvotes, would I have negative post karma? How many downvotes are required for one to get negative karma? Or is there any protection on AskReddit so that one would not get negative karma there?
I wanna post memes and get karma so I can post on r/gocommitdie
I have 3 months old account but started using it recently. I tried posting several times but my post Karma still stays at 1. :( do I need to gain comment karma or? How does this work?
my main account has 100k karma but I don't know where or what to post to reach the 30 karma threshhold that some subreddits have on this new account.
I don't want to be posting on the sub I moderate and usually post on because people there know my style of content and would be able to connect it to my real identity
Thought the Karma Won't go down even If I delete the post ...
Hello everyone, I've had this account for a long time but I've only started using it now. I don't really understand what this social network is for, but I like participating in the communities here, in fact, what is the purpose of this karma that you talk about so much? What happens if I have too much of it? Would it be too much? And these other features, are they for competition? Can anyone explain it to me? I just usually post and comment, I don't worry too much about it
