I think this sub disappeared a few months ago and not sure why

It says the sub is private or has been removed. I tried to post there the other day from my home feed (idk why) and just realized it never posted. Looked at the sub and I can’t access it anymore. Am I blocked or something?

The last posts are from months ago. There doesn't seem to be any explanation given there

1.8 million subs and no posts in 3 months. I find it hard to believe people just lost interest. I really liked that sub for the sort of "meta" approach to memes ... Just wondering if anyone knows what's going on

I'm sure it still does and I'm just thinking about it the wrong way but I thought there was a sub called is that a peen on my screen and there was a sister sub similar.

I used to really like the sub. It was cool to broadcast a well-informed, well articulated comment that covers a subject. I used to aspire to be the kind of reddit or who’d get a comment on r/bestof over something I care about.

I didn’t notice until just now, but I never see r/bestof posts anymore. I checked the sub, and it looks like they went hard on protesting the API changes a couple months ago. Now they post daily feeds, which don’t look like anything they used to provide.

Is the sub dead? What happened to it?

What happened to r/standingout?

It was active in protest. Was it shut down?

Been away from Reddit for a bit and came back searching for a specific AMA, couldn’t find the thread. Went to my own profile to get to my AMA, but it was gone. Thought it was weird but then it was saying it had been made private? Caught up just now on the blackouts via this sub. From what I gathered it’s affecting different people in different subreddits, so just wondering if AMA is also like this for anyone else.
