It’s too late to register online or by mail, and you cannot register to vote on Election Day or any time after November 2nd. However, you can still register during the early voting period from October 17th to November 2nd at any early voting site in your county. Here’s what you’ll need to bring:
1. Proof of Residence: A document showing your name and current address in North Carolina. Acceptable documents include:
• North Carolina driver’s license (this satisfies both the proof of residence and photo ID requirements).
• Other photo ID issued by a government agency.
• A utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document with your name and current address.
• A current college/university photo ID paired with proof of campus residence.
2. Photo ID Requirement: Starting in 2023, North Carolina requires voters to show a valid photo ID. Acceptable forms include:
• North Carolina driver’s license or state ID.
• U.S. passport.
• Military or Veterans ID.
• Tribal ID.
• College/university photo ID (with proof of campus habitation).
Note: If you don’t have a valid photo ID, you can request a free voter photo ID from your county board of elections.
You can also register in person before the early voting period ends at your county board of elections or other official registration locations like the DMV or public libraries.
Make sure to bring the required documents to register and vote during the early voting period, as you cannot register to vote after November 2nd!

Hey y'all, we're Down Home NC, a grassroots org building multiracial power for working-class folks across rural NC!
We have a real opportunity to pass Medicaid Expansion in our state this year and get healthcare to over 500,000 people living in the healthcare gap. But we need your help! Can you join us on Wednesdays as we call into rural communities and talk to folks about Medicaid Expansion and everything it could do for poor and working North Carolinians?
You can volunteer from home! Join us Wednesday evenings! No previous deep canvassing experience required, we will train you! Sign up here: https://www.mobilize.us/downhomenc/event/451083/
Over the last few weeks, I have been working on a project involving crunching some data regarding the Electoral College, the popular vote, and racial demographics in our country. I wanted to share my findings and hope that you find them interesting.
Information on the history of the electoral college and why it is not a great system for America: (Imgur link)
TLDR? (Check out my video, instead)
Hi everyone. I am an adult college student working on my final women’s leadership course before graduating just shy of my 40th birthday.
I am currently working on an action research project:
Should the Electoral College be Abolished?
An Education and Awareness Campaign
My question for you all, and I hope that you can help me out and respond, is this: What sort of content are you most likely to stop and review when you come across it online, and what are you most likely to just scroll on past? For example, do you really like a Tik-Tok style video with a funny jingle? Do you like memes? What about infographics? Data dashboards? A link to a website with detailed information? A PDF that lays out all the facts like a news article? In short, what grabs your attention – and what doesn’t? YOU are exactly the person who I am trying to communicate with., and I will share my final project here when I am done.
The purpose of my project is simply to educate so that we can all be more informed. Maybe if and when the time comes to consider legal election reform, this information will help someone decide to get involved with the fight.
Thank you!

The past few years have been a monster dumpster fire - goes without saying. Bernie Sanders was who we need, and I fought hard in the state to try to make it happen. So many calls, so many doors knocked on, and it fell through. It sucks till this day while I grit my teeth and contemplate voting for Joe Biden.
When the results came in, I felt defeated - the hours volunteering didn’t do much. But I made some fantastic progressive friends along the way. Their support alone maintained my energy after defeat, and I’ve never felt more confident sharing my opinions in a conservative stronghold.
I restarted a social media campaign on my long dead accounts - ranting and explaining my policy opinions to anyone who’d listen (or argue). It caught the attention of a local candidate, and I switched my canvassing literature from the federal level to the state.
The pandemic shut us down, and instead of campaigning, he and I started an organization to provide meals to our underserved members of the community. As a chef by trade, it feels great to use my skills to help during this crisis. I haven’t been in love with my job, and have been wanting an out, long before I lost my job to the crisis.
Now I have a new job opportunity: Campaign Manager for the NC House of Representatives election. I called my Sanders volunteer group and we all jumped for joy. It’s been a garbage year, but the fight goes on, and I’ve never felt more prepared to tackle whatever comes my way, and to fight to get into office the candidates who fight for us.
Change doesn’t happen over night, but it’s been such a gift to see what can happen when we use our skills and determination to fight for each other. Thanks, Bernie Sanders.
Look. It may seem in bad taste to “politicize a crisis”, but the reality is that crisis’s SHOULD be handled with assistance of public policy! In times like this (virus outbreaks) it makes it more obvious that health care is not just about personal insurance. We don’t live in a vacuum –healthcare is tied to the public in many ways and should be a public good available to everyone.
Make your vote matter and vote for the candidate who is supporting Medicare For All, Bernie Sanders.
No, voting for Bernie today won’t affect this current outbreak, but in the future if M4A is available it could curb the spread of future epidemics and will help people get the care they need when they need it instead of fear of missing work (and thus losing their families healthcare tied to it) or fear of astronomical bills from preventative testing, care, etc.
America’s profits from insurance and lack of affordable/comprehensive healthcare is embarrassing.
It took me less than 10 mins to vote this morning. It may be a little longer with after work folks. Please make an effort to go vote.
AND THEN WASH YOUR HANDS! ❤ stay safe, ya’ll
