Be excellent to each other. Party on, dudes!
Jed really saw his diminutive, slap hitting, former White Sox middle infielder named Nick sign with another team and immediately had to go sign another one. Really hope both he and Luke Little make the Opening Day roster now just so we can have this moment again at the home opener since it would work in the same alphabetical order.
The new “yard” in centerfield is a privet box with food and unlimited drinks. You’re near the field and under the bleachers. I first of all hate this idea because it doesn’t feel like Wrigley. When other stadiums do it that’s fine but they are more modern, I want that old school charm (and I’m college age) While the bleachers bums aren’t mean they are passionate. Most of the time they are brotherly and love the other people. But the second another sibling gets special treatment I think there will be issues. I think there will be a good amount of heckling the people in the yard. What are your takes?

Brit here, got into baseball a few years ago and fell in love with the Cubs and Wrigley Field. We're visiting the US for the first time in August this year and are hoping to catch the Pirates games on 15th and 16th. I can't seem to find tickets on general sale anywhere - have they sold out and I've missed them, or have they not been released yet? Also I'd really appreciate any advice on the best places to sit - am thinking bleachers one day and somewhere else the other?
Grateful for any general advice too - dos and donts on game day, and places to visit in Chicago in the evenings.
(I’m sort of a casual prospect watcher so bear with me.)
Just watched this video from a podcast called TheCallUp. It’s great, if you haven’t seen it I highly recommend it.
The thing I found most interesting was the Jefferson Rojas love. I knew he was a really good prospect in our system, but these guys had him above Alcantara and Triantos. Some of the points they made were valid but it was surprising to see. Is this more because of a Rojas surge or a Triantos & Alcantara dip?
Also, after watching the video, I’m pretty down on Triantos for our system. We’ve got Hoerner (for now), Shaw, Dansby, and whatever other middle infield additions they make. Why would we keep a guy with such a limited ceiling? It would make the most sense to trade for whatever we can since we most likely won’t have much use for him.
And ik you can say the same for Alcantara but it’s kindov different here. With Alcantara, there’s an insane ceiling that you just have to see through. If all goes well for him, he could end up being our 2nd best outfielder. But with Triantos, it seems like he’s destined to be at most a depth piece. Why keep that around when we can trade him for real, big league talent? Especially in a season we’re looking to compete in.
If the whole cubs are aggressive for bregman are true I got to see how this plays out bc they’ve been playing way too cheap this offseason if you want him give the man his money and also extend Tucker and then sign a darn righty and closer
Anyone here know if there are any events in Toyko for the Cubs game? Hoping to meet up with other fans. Thanks
RIzzo is still on the market. Seems like he would be a good pick up for us. Before the screaming starts: " We have a 1st baseman in Busch!", I am not suggesting he replaces Busch. Several positives supporting AR:
Last week, I heard this analysis about the development of the Cubs' 2016 roster on a French podcast called A coup sûr (yes, it's an underground opinion...), what do you think about it ? Trying to forget the fact that it's coming from a Cards fan.
"They should have sold better and not let everyone go as free agents, and not be a pain in the ass... On top of that, the Cubs, and this isn’t the Cardinals fan talking, the Cubs are still a team that invented a system of mass cutting all their players to go grab underpaid, very young guys, build them up, and win a championship they hadn’t won in 100 years... So they used another loophole in the system to their advantage, they did it very well, and they won. It didn’t bother them to treat all their players like crap, get rid of them so quickly, and then go pick up players for almost nothing and turn them into superstars, only to sell them off poorly later."

I'm not seeing any Cubs on rosters yet....I could be wrong. I love the WBC and this type of tournament. I wish the USA was represented. Kind of a crack up that Japan sends a team, but I understand their team was put together very well.
I’ve been a die hard fan since 1992
Making a plan to go to a couple of Spring training games.
Anybody AZ veterans have suggestions or recommendations on best seats or other park specific insights?
This guy has Jed Hoyet bargain bin special written all over him.
Older, but if Robertson was in play, I don't see why he wouldn't be.
Pitched to the tune of a 3.5 era last season, still can get hitters out and limits the walks.
Get it done, Jed.
