aurora OBGYN that will perform ablation/sterilization without pushback?

i’m 23 years old and have dealt with heavy and painful periods for years. i’ve tried multiple forms of birth control that don’t end up working well for helping with these symptoms.

has anyone had any good experiences with doctors at aurora that will do an ablation and sterilization without significant pushback? i’ve tried a few gynos, but have had no luck. if anyone has any personal experience they’d be willing to share, that would be greatly appreciated! :)

Indian tailor in the Milwaukee area?

Hi, does anyone know of an Indian or South Asian tailor in the Milwaukee area? I am looking to get a sari blouse made to match a sari I already own and am hoping to find someone local who can do the work. Thank you!

Flourchild Pizza MKE REVIEW

I heard great things about the restaurant and had to try. Overall - I thought it was ok. The pizza was alright but nothing groundbreaking. Drinks were fine. Staff was ok. Actually got kicked out of our table after 1hr 30mins, kind of strange given there were many open tables around us. Additionally - they charged 3% extra fee that could be taken off if desired to help cover higher food costs. Strange.

Anyways - would love to hear other people’s thoughts.

Experience dining recommendations?

I love good food, but I am looking for restaurants that are really more about the experience than the food. Gimmicky is fine! We have done kpot, hibachi, and even Golden Nest for the robot servers. In other cities we've enjoyed blackout dining and conveyor belt sushi. We aren't looking for fine dining, and also not looking for Don's TV repair. Any other local options that might fit?

Follow up - How are you feeling Milwaukee?

Just letting everyone know, yep it was pneumonia with acute bronchitis for me. If you're experiencing a bad cough, fever, chest tightness, breathing difficulties for over 5 days, head to your doctor to get meds. It's going around like crazy.

Thanks for all the support on my last post Milwaukee! Keep safe and keep well!

MPS Superintendent Finalists Announced

https://mps.milwaukee.k12.wi.us/News/Milwaukee-Public-Schools-Superintendent-Finalists-Named.htm

The candidates are:

Dr. Brenda Cassellius, former Superintendent for Boston Public Schools, MA

Dr. Joshua Starr, former Superintendent for Montgomery County Public Schools, MD

Dr. Andraé Townsel, current Superintendent for Calvert County Public Schools, MD

All of them seem pretty meh to me. Which is a shame, because MPS desperately needs (among other things) real, competent leadership to turn things around.

Discuss.

I’m a young 20y/o living in Milwaukee looking to start going to alcoholics anonymous but am having a hard time finding a good source. Does anyone have any recommendations for the downtown area?

Throwing My First Music Event In Milwaukee

A few months ago, I found myself inside the Tripoli Shrine in Milwaukee for an unrelated event, and I couldn’t help but notice how incredible the space was. If you haven’t been there, imagine an ornate, historic building with a massive ballroom and a killer stage just begging to be brought to life. Yet, despite its potential, it felt underutilized.

As a music lover with a soft spot for house, techno, and synthwave, the idea hit me: why not plan an epic music event there? I figured this could be a perfect way to bring something fresh to the Milwaukee scene while giving this beautiful space the spotlight it deserves. After a few conversations with the team at the Shrine, I got the green light to make it happen.

And so, Neon Pulse: Retro-Future Rave was born! It’s all going down on February 22nd from 9 PM to 2 AM. The lineup features some incredible acts, including Panda, E-Rock, and my own band, Dark Star Emperors (shameless plug). Expect a blend of pulsing beats, retro vibes, and futuristic energy.

We’ve also got craft cocktails lined up to keep the vibes flowing all night long. Tickets are just $20, and since it’s a 21+ event, you know it’s going to be a party to remember.

If you’re in Milwaukee or anywhere nearby, come check it out! Not only will you experience an unforgettable night of music and atmosphere, but you’ll also be helping breathe new life into one of the city’s hidden gems.

What’s your favorite hidden venue in your city? Drop a comment and let me know—and if you’re coming to the event, let’s link up!

Event Details: 🗓 Date: February 22nd 🕘 Time: 9 PM – 2 AM 📍 Location: Tripoli Shrine, 3000 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, WI 🎟 $20 entry | 21+

Let’s make this a night to remember!

Coming to Wisc Ave downtown

I know a lot more needs to be done but it is nice to see that block transformed and much of the downtown getting safer.

Where/can I request a stop sign?

Already had a few close calls with one street by my house that has a residential intersection (full 4 way) with no stop sign or yield signs. Just last week in the morning I witnessed a crash because of this, and from my POV it looked like nobody was speeding or driving recklessly, just poor visibility and the fact that there’s no signs

Is there a way I can contact someone to put in a request for a stop sign or something?? This is also one street away from a school so if any kids are ever crossing, definitely wouldn’t want them to get hurt

What's the best way to get to Brewers Hill from Wauwatosa area?

I was wondering what the best and safest way to get to Brewers Hill from Wauwatosa area would be.

Obviously there is North Ave and Lisbon, but I have heard that a lot of crashes happen around there.

Is there any other options for a morning and midday commute that you would recommend?

How do you feel driving down North or Lisbon into the city for work?

Thanks!

Hello again, back to spread the word of our board game night held at the Milwaukee LGBT+ center. Thank you all to those who showed up at the last event, I hope you all had a great time!

Posting here again to let everyone interested to know we are going back to our regular scheduled 1st Saturday of the month, so our next game night is tomorrow, February 1st, from 5 p.m. to 8. We will have a variety of games there to play, but you can bring yours as well.

Also, thanks to the success of the board game night, I would also like to announce that this February, we are starting a RPG night as well. The first one will be next week, February 8th. Rooted and Rising Apartments?

Does anyone here live at Rooted and Rising near Washington Park? How is the neighbourhood? The Apartments are cheap(despite the long waitlist time) but look pretty good.

The Back Room at Colectivo update?

Does anyone know what the plan is for that space? If I recall, it stopped being a venue with Pabst theater group because colectivo had other plans for it, but it’s been a minute and I don’t think I’ve heard anything more specific than that. Has anyone heard updates at all?

Humboldt and Water Street

Simple question: why doesn't Humboldt and Water Street have a four way stop. I feel as if those are some of the longest lights in Milwaukee.

Which type and where to get crab for crab cakes at home

I’m following the americas test kitchen recipe for crab cakes and wonder which type and where to get the crab. Claw, lump, special, or colossal?

Sendiks has a bagged 16oz lump for 18 Empire has refrigerated, canned claw for 25, lump for 36 up to 64 for colossal. Whole Foods has lump for 20.

Am I sleeping on another source, should I spring for frozen actual legs cause they’re on sale at xxxx?

And for cooks, does it matter much which type of meat?

…I missed it this week but crab at empire is 15% off on tues. other deals and always great service at empire too

Anyone know of a solid shop/person to get a car part painted?

A few years ago I needed a bumper painted and found a guy on craigslist that had a tiny project garage and paintmatched the part to my car. He did a great job at a reasonable price, but hasn't responded to any of the messages I've sent him over the past year.

I need a new side skirt for my car and one is available for pickup nearby but isn't the right color. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a person or small business where I could bring a part in to be sprayed and maybe installed?

Bonus points if they can repair some developing rust on a fender.

Cheers!

Does anyone know of a glass studios offering stained glass classes? I’d love to try it before going full hyper-fixation and building my own studio space. 🤣
