Kreigsmarine Clerical work, Yeoman Petty Officer 3rd Class
Kreigsmarine Torpedo Control Foreman Grade 2 (Torpedo and two chevrons)
St. Moritz Skis (? St. Mortiz is a skiing town in Western Switzerland near the Italian Border. Cursive font dates from earliest 1932 and is still in use today. The blue zig zags aren't QUITE SS bolts and do make up the word "Skis" but their presense among these other patches is incredibly suspect. I have no information regarding any sort of Nazi Skiing trip but I suppose it's possible that it is a cheeky Nazi joke. I cannot find anything else that "ki" could stand for other than being a part of the word. It could also be an unrelated graphic design choice showing ski tracks. Or...it could be all of the above.)
St. Mortiz Switcherland. (This seems like just a regular tourist patch from the time showing the coat of arms of St. Moritz. Not sure what the "IS" stands for. "In Switzerland"?)
US X Corps part of Phillipine campaign in WW2 as well as reporting directly to MacArthur in Korea (Displayed Inverted. I can't find any reference to it being a hate symbol but if it's some deep deep military hate symbol it's possible it's just not known. X Corp was disbanded in 1968 but they did fight against Communists which is enough of a dogwhistle for Alt Right groups. See the use of the South Korean flag at rallies.)
Steuermann (Helmsman)
Kreigsmarine Eagle patch (possibly a reproduction due to the quality and super clean lines)
Third Reich Labor Service (abbreviated RAD. Displayed inverted)
NCO Cap Insignia
Wermacht Ferrier (Displayed Inverted)
Not really a Wehrmacht collector but I received this as a gift recently and I’m wondering how to tell about the class and if it’s genuine? I did the magnet test and it sticks and the silver on the side looks tarnished as well as marks on the ribbon where it would have been sewn in place. So what have I got? I received from a good family friend who got it when they were younger themselves in the 60s-70s
hello, looking for help on this item. it is 5.09" in dia, about 7.5" tall. it weighs 24.6 lbs. it has "1707" cast on the bottom. it appears to be solid cast iron.
Yes mods i tried reverse image searching and googling but it came up with random steel canteens that didn't look like it
It was being sold for $75 and I could google search find it and the writing kept coming out in gibberish when translated, it kept saying “eight sutra theodolite saddle” anyone got any ideas on what it actually is?
Could someone with access to archives help me find this soldier's death index card a preferably also the unit number/other information? Any help will be appreciated!
Anybody knows about the worth? It is stamped 1939.
