Where Do I Go To Get My Blanket Re-made?

I have an old blanket that i've had my entire life.It has fallen apart. It's literally in shreds now, but I want it back.I would get a new one if it were just like it, but since I can't seem to find one i'm also open to having it re-made if I can find someone who can re-create it from scratch.I took a piece of it to a fabric store, JOANN Fabrics and crafts I think, hoping someone there could tell me what material it was made out of.They weren't much help.I think it's like a silky linen.

This blanket was just right....the way it felt on my skin.It wasn't too fluffy.Where can I take what's left of this blanket to have it brought back to life?If someone here can do it, how would the process work and what should I expect to pay?

Pattern Making?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of services where I could pay some one to make a pattern for an article of clothing? I have a pair of pants I want copies of, and I've never been successful with copying patterns from clothes.

So if anyone knows of a person or place where I can get someone to make a patten of my clothes that would be very helpful.

[Want Made] Need someone to help me forge weld the eye and flange on a bardiche.

I can't forge weld due to lack of resources. The construction would be a wrap-around eye forge welded on either side of the blade, and a flange at the bottom. Here's an example. This is more or less how I want my flange to be welded on. Not sure if the eye on that is forge welded, but if you're forge welding for me you probably know what that means anyway.

I can pay in money or in services (grinding knives, making them look pretty, making handles, etc.) since I've got almost 4 years experience as a knifemaker.

Thanks for your time, and please DM me if you think you could do this.

You think these would sell on Etsy? Rough-hewn (not sharp!!!) handmade coconut shell buttons. Ya think there’s a little niche for this?

CPM S35VN & CPM CM154

Looking for someone that is experienced with these steels to make knives for me? I would also like them to be heat treated at Peter's Heat Treat. I have some ideas on the general design of the knives and handle materials. I have the steel that will be used to make the knives.

[Want made] A custom key with lock

I'm trying to find someone who could make a key for me that can be worn as a pendant on a necklace, but also functions as a typical key that can open a corresponding (also custom made) lock.

I'd like to use the lock for a wooden box some time, which the key should then be able to open.

I haven't decided on all the specifics yet and am just trying to find someone who could make this and since I just found out about this subreddit, I thought I'd give it a try.

https://www.albion-swords.com/swords/albion/nextgen/sword-kriegsmesser-knecht.htm

[**Want Made**] Custom EDC fixed blade and Kydex sheath

Looking for a little fun tang fixed blade. This will require a medium to high level of bladesmithing and moderate kydex work. Any help from frequenters of this sub or referrals would be greatly appreciated.

I need turnaround inside of this month. Tall order, but I wasn't given a ton of notice. Looking to do this for under $300. I will be sourcing material, and will provide drawings.

Knife

  • OAL: 7"

  • Blade Length: Böhler Elmax stainless steel, 3.75" long, 0.130" thick

  • Blade Style: V-ground, Drop Point, high saber grind with convex edge bevels

  • Blade Finish: Satin stonewash (similar to a ZT)

  • Handle Length: 3.25" full tang with lanyard loop, 0.50" thick

  • Scale Material: 3/16" thick Thunderstorm Kevlar (with a lot of beveling along the edges and a cutout at the butt for a low-profile lanyard loop, similar to the Bradford Guardian series)

  • Scale attachment method: 2 brass mosaic pins and a brass lanyard tube

Sheath

  • Sheath Material: Black Kydex with 2 Velcro loop patches at the mouth

  • Sheath Style: Taco (single piece) with eyelets

  • Attachment Style: Spyderco G-clip (needs to be attached to the eyelets via Chicago screws)

[Want made] a big ass cool looking dull blade for use as a fantasy football trophy

A guy we knew in high school says he could make us a 24” cutlass with hamon and brass pomel and African Blackwood handle

450 was his price (+400 to make it Damascus steel)

Have no idea what the market is like. Could anyone make a cool trophy blade for cheaper?

[Want Made] 2 Replica Knives & Leather & Bead Sheaths

Hi All,

As per the title I'm looking for 2 replica's which will require bladesmithing, leather working as well as beadwork skills at a fairly high level. I'd be very appreciative if someone can help me with this or point me to someone who can. I've been looking for a while for someone who can help.

There's a bit of a background story to this, but to keep it short these knives were stolen from my wife's family and I'd love to replace them for her. I am looking for replicates where the damage to them has been fixed, but not new. Like an old well worn friend kinda thing. I have 2 images to share.

The first knife is the simpler one.

Knife 1: Sheffield Bowie from the 1840’s

  • Total length 10 inch
  • Blade length 6-7 inch
  • Aged bone handle (at least my wife says it's bone but looks like wood to me)
  • Bronze cross guard
  • Tacked crow style sheath
  • Tacked belt (optional)

Knife 2: Trader Knife 1860’s -70’s

  • Total length ~15 inches
  • Blade length ~10" inches
  • Width 2.5"-3 inches
  • round wooden grip
  • looks to be bronze crossguard
  • Rawhide Sheath (that's what the family says but looks like old leather too, hard to tell)
  • Seabeadwork with size 11 preferably period beads on one side of the knife (so knife can be worn left hand side and doesn't wear against clothing)

[For Hire] I make real versions of crazy anime/video game/whatever weapons.

Title pretty much says it all, my work is 99% custom commissions for weapons from video games, anime/manga, movies, comics or even your imagination (working from a drawing). I also do metal artwork as well, specializing in relatively unusual and difficult projects. My work is extremely expensive, typical giant swords are in the $2500-5000 range and I have made multiple projects over $30k just to give you an idea of pricing ahead of time.

Pics of a bunch of my projects: https://prettyhatemachining.imgur.com/

Youtube channel with many build videos if you just want to watch me work: https://www.youtube.com/c/prettyhatemachining

Thanks!

Our UFO art project needs a kinetic elements aficionado!

Hey guys & gals!

I want to share a project we are bringing to Burning Man this year with you all. It's an interactive UFO installation that sends your recorded voice messages into space via a laser. We are hoping to bring it around the world to various festivals on each continent (and probably primarily burns and related regionals). There is a video at the end of the post and if you'd like more details about the actual structure ask info@souloceans.com!

We are currently looking for local help from a mechanically inclined person for kinetic elements in the UFO's structure. If you want to get involved, send us an email!

Thanks for reading, enjoy the video below!

[Want Made] 3D printable design of a motherhood knot

I have access to a Dremel 3D printer at work so I don't need it printed, but I do not have experience with the design aspect. I am wanting to 3D print this for my wife to make a necklace out of it. I would order it but she is allergic to nickel and it is difficult to find these sorts of things that are not made with nickel. I would want it to be one solid piece, without the breaks that are shown in the linked picture.

Price can be worked out.
