Has anyone ever used a microsquirt. Or knows of an alternative. I want to go down the road of efi. Have knock detection. Maybe even a display to monitor engine temps, boost pressue, fuel pressure, air fuel ratio etc.

Check out my youtube channel link above. Lots of content about this bike.
The paint on my Bandit has seen better days, so I’m gonna give a rattle can job a go. It doesn’t have to be perfect by any means, I just want it to be more me. I’ll be using primer, black gloss paint and petrol-resistant lacquer from one brand, with a layer of hologram glitter in lacquer by a different brand between the paint and the petrol-resistant lacquer. My questions are I know I have to sand before the primer and then sand the primer but do I have to sand the black gloss paint before putting on the hologram lacquer? And then do I have to sand that when putting on the petrol resistant lacquer? Thanks!
Aloha and hope all is well. I’m curious what would be a good possibly cheap bike to mess around with/ customize that I wouldn’t have a hard time finding parts and whatnot. Maybe something cafe racer ish? I’ve been on two wheels since I was a kid and know just enough to be dangerous.
Thinking of getting a new bike, dunno which one to choose. They are basically the same in terms of price but I don’t see much people compare them. I’m new to the sport so any advices on this purchase will be appreciated.
Both are running MECHANICAL 105, 12s, priced at around 2400 pounds.
Other considerations currently: Giant Propel advance 2 2024 Merida Reacto 4000 2024
I'm looking for someone near Northern Indiana who can fabricate handlebars and exhaust for my 2022 R18b. I have been reaching out high and low and cant find anyone who can take on the build. Honestly it doesn't have to be near northern Indiana. I will take the bike anywhere.
Everything in the parenthesis is for context, skip it if you'd like, I added it in case anyone was wondering why I'm considering making a motorcycle.
(( Hello, I don't have a background in mechanics beyond considering switching to mechanical engineering as my major. What I mean by this is that I don't have actual hands on experience with engines, frames, vehicles, and so on...
I've always been really interested in mechanics and recently have been considering switching to mechanical engineering because I hate sitting at a desk programming for computer science. I have also been sitting on my motorcycle license without a bike for about a year or more now.
Today I started thinking about the idea of building a motorcycle for the novelty, the somewhat introduction to engineering, and because I think it could be cheaper than buying a straight up bike. ))
End of context.
I have a few questions, some may be rather stupid.
Thank you,
any other input is also appreciated!
Hi, I am having issue with the motor transferring power to the wheel when in gear. If I have it on the center stand and in first the wheel spins. If I take it off the center stand and accelerate it immediately dies. I recently cleaned the carbs and did a bench synch, so l'm thinking they may need to be synchronized while on the bike. I just wanted to see if anyone had other troubleshooting ideas. Thank you!
Always working on something! Thanks for checking out my channel
I’m rebuilding my first bike and the original chain is on it and beyond repair. I’m looking to replace the chain and would love to put an o ring chain on it, but I’m unsure of the sizing and if it would technically work. Any insight would be lovely. Thanks so much!

So I just bought an Akrapovic full exhaust system for my ZX10R off eBay that was claimed to be titanium. As I was installing it I noticed that it lacked the classic titanium blue and purple coloration, as the exhaust was gently used. I then put a magnet on it and the magnet stuck to the pipes, is this confirmation that it is indeed not titanium, and stainless steel instead? I want to know so I can request a partial refund from the seller. Thanks.
Found this bike online. It's a lifan 125 likely modified in whatever way, not familiar with them. But staring at this rear for day I can get figure out how it works without being remarkably weak. It looks like all the weight stress bend a moment down the backbone to the rear axel without any other support.
What am I missing?
Hello everyone,
I have a 1991 Honda Dominator that was custom built by the previous owner as a scrambler/cafe racer. He sold it as a project since it was not finished. And one of the things that doesn’t work is the speedometer which is a motoacope mini.
Some info that might be relevant: The system is installed already, it has worked in the past (he showed me videos) and I have once seen the display turn on while I was out riding. (No actual info on the display, it just turned on and displayed some colours)
Main problem is that its not turning on. And I was thinking of hooking the display directly to a household battery or similar to see if it would even turn on. However I am no expert and wanted som opinions of the feasibility of doing this for troubleshooting. (Can doing that damage it ? etc)
Apparently it stopped working when he left the bike inside for the winter. And hasn’t turned on since.
The whole electrical system is very "home made" so I wanted to just troubleshoot the simple things before I might go over it myself and replace everything.
Does anyone have any inputs for me ?
Cheers,
A hopeful hobby mechanic
