Just curious but as someone who has extensively modded both games it seems like fallout 4 is several times more unstable than skyrim. I mean like crashes on loads, slow down in late game etc while skyrim can have 200+ mods for me and run amazing and never crash while fallout 4 with half as many is very much in the quicksave before every loading screen situation for me. Is this just how it is or am I missing a key part of modding 4
I'm thinking on getting back into fallout 4, was originally wanting to play after the fallout t v show on amazon, but when the next gen update came it broke my mods and I suddenly couldn't even launch fallout 4 through vortex anymore.
I kinda missed playing it and am thinking on going back, has he the issue been fixed or is there still a problem
I’ve noticed humanity is poorly handled by this mod, as it is utterly obsessed with deducting humanity points whenever I dare to simply defend myself from hostile humans (“it’s meant to be suffered not enjoyed” is not a good counterpoint in my eyes). Not only is it illogical to act as though self defense is inhumane, it also means you have to waste time on a ton of 24-hour bed rests to regain humanity and avoid the threat of becoming a monster.
So, is there any way whatsoever to bypass humanity loss? Maybe another mod someone has brought over to Xbox to simply use an AID item to instantly recover humanity, or perhaps using other mods to finagle around it such as cheat terminal? I would love to simply freeze my vampirism somehow so it never changes, so long as that doesn’t impact anything I might unlock from the mod itself.
I have yet to encounter any unique stories the mod offers. I have only encountered a vampire hunting version of Irma, some hunters, and some vampires. I am clanless and have not been able to find the unique Hunter corpse that starts a questline. I am however maxed out in my vampiric ranking, I think (don’t recall the name, but I’m at the rank above reaver). I would like some guidance in that regard as well, if possible.
I've been looking for a mod that would make NPCs more challenging without having to use any of the major overhauls. I dislike how changing the game difficulty settings is down to reducing your damage dealt or bloating NPC health and making everything a slog.
I think increasing NPC armor rating may be more effective or interesting so I face tougher NPCs. This would hopefully mean that I need to consider penetration and choosing the right damage type to survive.
Looking in Xedit I'm wondering if modding their "skin" armor rating would do what I hope it does? I could choose which NPCs to make harder to kill without needing to empty clips into every bloatfly. Would this work? Is it a bad idea or the wrong way to go about this?
I tried to play SS2 but my list blew up, so I'm starting again.
I liked the quest line of SS2. I liked the plots alot. I hated that the plots and mechanics are sort of disconnected from vanilla. It's just not a mod for me.
The thing that I know I will miss are the pre-assembled plots. I don't need them to change though... I just want buildings and pre-assembled kits. Like a building with a bed and clutter that I can put down.

I am playing fallout new Vegas with some mods. But, before some time my company stop following me. Him just don't move more. I don't understand why this happened, I try to change something in the commands of the company buts don't work.

I'm following The Midnight Ride and was wondering if anything requiring F4SE (0.6.23) would also work with F4SE (0.7.2). Which goes into my next question: Should I downgrade? I asked whether or not the downgrader would also work with F4SE (0.7.2) but they just said that many mods are actually NG. Which is why I'm asking about the downgrading.
I need some cool power armor mods, to help with rp or fun gameplay, anything helps as I know modding Library kind of sucks

Hey guys, I'm wrapping up my modding New Vegas run and the only problem I have is the occasional but often crash when going back outside, Can anybody help me identify the problem in crash report or at least tell me how to, any help would be greatly appreciated!

After getting into the bunker un-invited, McNamara asks my character to deal with the ranger and places the explosive collar on him - I hear the audio of an item being added and crash
Last time I was crashing was the door opening the overseer tunnel entrance in vault 11, but that wasn't anything major, I've never actually done the quest this way so I'd love to not have to do it another way

But the date modified isn't changing when I crash, and I'm pretty sure the crash happened like an hour after the modified time of that

Can confirm I don't crash when going in there with Veronica meaning it's not related to McNamara's audio, and the crash happens specifically after the audio of an item being added is played and the screen fades to black (to transport you back up to hidden valley I assume?)
Basically, with riot gears the helmets are able to stack hats with them but now I cant, which bugfix causes this?
I made a mod that let's you use the armor workbench to change the texture on the Fashionable Glasses about 6 months before the next Gen update. I just started a new playthrough and the damn thing doesn't work anymore. I've confirmed that the keywords are on the right armor item and nothing else about the mod has changed. I'm using a downgraded version of the vanilla files. The mod worked perfectly on old Gen. I've even unpacked the texture archive and tried using loose files. Anyone know?
Edit When I load the .nif into Outfit Studio and manually enter the path to different .bgsm files, the different textures work fine. It's only in game that they don't work as expected
I recently started modding FNV in the hopes of being able to get back into the franchise but I have come across a roadblock I pretty much just can't be bothered dealing with anymore. I've tried changing the load order and all the usual stuff but I just can't find out what's going on. Help is appreciated.

So I'm getting a really weird bug in my game. My power armor helmet turns completely invisible. I literally look headless. If I remove it and drop it on the ground, it's visible. Put it back? gone. The only way to fix it is going back to a much earlier save before I got the helm, put it on the frame, and then reload the current save and I can see the helmet it again. It keeps recurring. Disabling every mod and loading it up doesn't matter. The helmet just...is invisible. I've seen others post this bug but this is my only solution.
Has anyone else seen this happen except a smattering of reddit/steam users?

Coming into F04 modding from using MO2 + LOOT on Skyrim and a wabbajack setup for FO:NV. Just wondering whether or not its worth it to be lazy and use vortex as opposed to using MO2
also is there anything that has a somewhat annoying setup but still worth it? Something similar to like Dynolod or ENB from skyrim (not actually sure if F04 has or needs ENBs)

With Steam's winter sale now here, I'm going to be nabbing Fallout 4 GOTY and Skyrim SSE for myself, as these are two games I've enjoyed greatly since release on my PS4. I'm migrating to PC for these games at long last, and I'm curious to find decent mods for Fallout 4, as the PS4's helpings are really kind of meh. I've been modding bethesda games for years on PC, but I've stuck mostly with the older games. I play my games usually in permadeath with an emphasis on immersion. I play these games like they're a TTRPG in video game format, at least that's how I try to play them.
Are there any worthwhile mods on PC for this? I've already scouted out a little on the nexus, trying to find little gems. I've grown so endlessly bored of the default "you are a pre-war relic" character, so I already found an apparently decent Alternate Start mod. I'm mostly looking for a few things. Mods that improve settlement building, mods that add immersion (survival elements, RP-elements), Mods to improve factions, and mods that improve automatrons. I'm not looking for anything to totally overhaul the game, but bring it a bit more in line with the Xbox 360 era games while keeping and improving the newer stuff. Quests are another thing. I personally love the radiant quest systems in Skyrim and Fallout 4, but I've grown a bit tired of the same prompt coming up again and again whenever I talk to Preston.
