Booted

This post was deleted from Door Dash. Not sure why.

https://preview.redd.it/qo61agixf5yd1.jpg?width=1224&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a4459c24d26324df919b8998f6ae6cda745ffc86

Got booted yesterday while picking up a delivery at a food hall. I was gone for 10 minutes. The delivery was 3 minutes away.

Cost $55 to remove which is pretty much what I made Door Dashing the day before. Took me 9 hours to make $71 and I filled the tank with $10 before starting my shift. I'm better today but last night was a b*

This is my 2nd week with Door Dash and my first time at this restaurant. Lesson learned.

Mfw my cool car isn't allowed

Yeah... Bought a car with 3 doors. Can't use it on UE. DD I got myself deactivated with my completion rate (drive thrus).

Gonna try other gigs. Gopuff and GH are waitlisted where I'm at.

Also gotta grind and get a better main job.

Looking at spark, waiting sucks though. Instacart guess it's interesting shopping.

I have 100% on UE too ugh

What is the best strategy to earn 200 dollars a day?

I am using Grubhub and Ubereats and I want to know the best strategies to earn 200 per day.

Those who earn 200 or more per day:

  1. What do you accept and decline?

  2. How many orders do you do per day?

Basically what do I have to do to earn near or above 20 dollars per hour?

I am willing to work 12 hours per day.

Driving for Lugg

If there is anyone that has been a lugg driver / helper. What are things you enjoy? Is the pay $28/hour, or is that before gas, are the items always what they say they are? are the hours fair? are there any aspects you do not like? Thinking about becoming a driver

Is it true Walmart+ will pay drivers more if you don’t tip?

I keep “hearing“ that. That the Walmart + doesn’t cancel or miss the delivery time because no one will pick up a non tipped order so Walmart will add the “tip” to entice them if you don’t leave one

edir: found out in my state its $12. Walmart gives them a $12 tip but decreases it as you tip. So if you tip $0 Walmart pays $12, if you tip $8 Walmart only pays $4. So unless you tip over $12 it’s better not to tip at all. Knowing this I’ve decided I will put $0 and cash tip $5. This way they essentially get a $17 tip from my order. I was tipping $15 cash, they were getting $27 for a 5 mile delivery, wow

First time courier, what are some good apps for delivering in Dallas/Plano?

About to start doing deliveries here in Plano, wanted to see which are good apps to work for? I hear some horror stories. I want to try to keep a good rating while doing deliveries. Anyway I can avoid apartments? Can you see where the delivery is going before I accept it? tia

leaving snacks out for delivery drivers w/ survey

i’m a senior in high school and for my big passion / service project, i want to leave out snacks and drinks for my delivery drivers since i receive and send out so much mail

i want to also include a google form survey in order to actually prove that what i am doing has a purpose. it would be optional, of course, since i’m sure most couriers don’t really have the time to spare to fill it out, but how likely would someone take the time out of their day to respond to it?

i would leave a piece of paper above the food basket with a thank you and to let them know that the snacks are for them, and i wanted to put the qr code there with a little information on what it’s for. but i also thought to stick some labels onto the snacks and drinks with the qr / info. i just don’t want it to come off as me like experimenting on them or anything 😭 i’m just looking for some feedback and input to be able to look into what a courier’s day is like and why doing acts like these are important!

Is there an app like this?

Hi everyone,

I’m starting a new job delivering flyers to houses, and I’m hoping to find an app that can help me keep track of which houses and streets I’ve already delivered to. Ideally, I’d like something that allows me to mark individual houses and entire streets as “completed.”

If an app like that doesn’t exist, a second option would be one where I can draw or X out areas manually on a map as I go along. Since I set my own hours, I might stop in the middle of a route, and it’d be super helpful to see exactly where I left off.

Has anyone found a good app for this kind of thing? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Are you entering Address data manually?

I was speaking to a local courier in another sub recently, and they have a slow/error prone process where they need to manually transpose addresses from printed labels into their transport management system.

Is this a common problem?

Gig jobs options in the SF Bay Area?

I have been looking for good gig jobs in the SF Bay Area but it seems that all the ones that are available out here are Uber, Doordash, Shipt, Lyft, and Instacart. All of those are either on a waitlist or hardly enough orders going out to make gas money. I even tried to sign up for this gig job called Walmart Spark but it won't let you sign up. So I am asking if anybody knows of a gig job that gets a good amount of job requests that are located in the SF Bay Area?

The correlation between ratings going down and apartment deliveries

Apartment deliveries now account for at least 50% of all deliveries. We have always had them but in past few years, apartment deliveries are just as prevalent as house deliveries.

One thing I've noticed is that when a rating goes down.its usually right after a apartment delivery. So,in addition to needing to go to a third floor on every single delivery, not having a gate code, impossible to find unit, we now get most of the down ratings from these people.

Has anyone else grown tired of this shit?

On top of that,it's usually 99% fast food orders to these apartments.

I've started searching for other things I can be doing

I bought a 2025 equinox last month and already have 2000 miles on it. This is after 5 years and 100,000 miles on a used crv I bought this car with 4 miles on it

Wtf am I doing? These cheap mother fuckers and the even cheaper gig has reached a boiling point

Feedback needed

Hey folks, I know you have already tried various existing route planners, and I saw different reviews or requests in this subreddit for a cheaper/better/different solution.

We collected them and tried to come up with a solution that is not hidden behind the paywalls or useless limitations.

I would like to ask you for feedback on how we are moving toward useful solution for the community. Happy to answer any kind of questions as well. Product is free. Its not commertionalized.

Here you could give it a try: https://app.routerra.io

Landing with demo: https://routerra.io

Was it easy for you to use? Would you like to see any specific features on top of existing functionality?

(Also we are already in progress with the next release for "time constraints", but before that want to crosscheck if we could include there something more)

I’m a Gig Driver, Think I Can Build An App For Us?

As a gig driver, I’ve been in the trenches dealing with constant notifications, distractions, and the pressure to grab gigs while trying to stay safe on the road. It’s exhausting, and I know I’m not alone in this struggle.

I already successfully built Hub Gig Reader, an accessibility tool that reads notifications out loud and reduces the need to look at your phone. It’s not a bot; it’s built to help drivers manage gigs more safely without breaking the rules. (Link in the Bio)

But I’m not stopping there. My next step? Building a driver-owned delivery app, a platform where you’re truly your own boss and I’m just the one providing the software. No unfair algorithms, no biased ratings, just tech that supports drivers, not exploits them.

I’m done complaining and I’m making things happen. I’ve already built Hub Gig Reader to tackle distractions, and now I’m setting up the groundwork for a delivery system built by drivers, for drivers.

Think I can do this alone?

Thoughts on this ic job?

I received an offer for a traditional IC courier position. The route is 3 days a week and will be driving 660 miles per week. The route will take about 5 hours per day, and pay is just over $600 weekly. The pay comes out to roughly $36-38 and hour for working 15-17 hours. I plan to stay at my current and step down to part-time. I just need a change for my mental health.

Did deliverthat change their pay model?

Ez cater orders no longer say that they are a part of the tip pool. They always seem to have a $20 flat tip with a $5 commission. These orders just a few weeks ago were paying ~$8 base and then being part of the pool would get $25-$27 tips. This seems fishy, and I don't like it. Just turned down an order that was $600 with a $20 tip, and a $5 base pay. That would fill my car and probably take over an hour between the wait at the restaurant, loading, driving, unloading, and setup. These used to be nice little additions to the day, but now it's just not worth it anymore.

Dear customers: Please have your ID ready for alcohol orders!

I cannot count the amount of alcohol deliveries where when I get to the customer's house they spend 10 minutes trying to look for their ID. If you order alcohol, why wouldn't you already know where your ID is? If you don't know where it is, look for it, find it, and then order alcohol! Don't wait until I get to your house/apartment and then look for it! There was once where I had to return the alcohol to the store because the person didn't have their ID at all! So please, for your driver's sake, have your ID ready, or don't order alcohol at all!

Anyone located in Southeastern PA?

Hi Everyone,

Does anybody in this SR do gig-work in the PA counties of DelCo, ChesCo, Montgomery County, and/ or Philadelphia County? I’m talking Uber, DoorDash, and/or GoPuff kind of work.

If so, I’d love to connect with you! I own a startup in this space called “JIFFY” and I’m looking to bring in drivers as independent contractors!

Comment or DM me if y’all are interested!

Thank you!

New Courier App Wish List

I'm making a new courier app for a local reverse delivery service. What annoyances do you experience with existing apps that you'd like to see fixed with a new app? Any killer features you'd love to see a new service provide to drivers?
