My goal - find a OTA DVR that I can use to record local NBA games

I currently use Google TV, but it is frustrating because many of the NBA games I want to watch are blocked locally. Fortunately in my market (Phoenix) all the games are broadcast OTA.

Which box is the best one for this?

I also want ATC3.0 in the hopes it will eventually be supported.

Apologies if this is an often asked question, I did read through the channel history and didn't see this question answered in the last few months).

Why do online people keep saying that traditional cable tv is dying if that’s a huge CAP?

First, I'm not in America and ONLY there is basically used internet-cable tv. And I have so many American friends/pen pals who have traditional cable tv with decoder/provider as well. Honestly, if I was american, I would use it as well too, no need to spend over 70$ or more for month and let my phone consume every time I want to watch private channels, and people saying shit like "traditional cable is dying, is useless" get literally on my nerves. So many people still have antennas in USA and not everyone likes to have phone and tv together, right?

    Streaming/Casting to TV

    Howdy,

I am looking to replace a Chromecast (which died a few years ago).

Having gone down the privacy/freedom rabbit hole in the last 4 years I would prefer something much less snoopy.

Mostly I just want to watch YT, Rumble, Odysee and a little Stremio.

I do have a spare laptop - Dell Latitude 5310, a wireless keyboard and pad - Logitech K400.

Is a laptop something I could easily just put behind my TV connect to HDMI and use easily?

Concerns are, power usage- do I have to leave on or can you remotely boot a laptop, can I keep[p lid down and its screen off?

If theres an easier way with privacy in mind I'm all ears, just thinking about this previous job laptop collecting dust.

Any help I would really appreciate. TIA

Crackle, Popcornflix and Redbox shut down.

On my Roku Express today, I just noticed that Crackle is listed as no longer available. o7 to Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment (the parent company for Crackle, Popcornflix & Redbox)

Cheapest/Best way to watch the premier league using a VPN?

    Hey!

As the title says, looking for a method to watch the premier league using a VPN at an affordable price.

I’m currently based in the UK and it’s just really overpriced with Sky Sports + TNT.

What services are there which stream in 1080p with English commentary that will have all the games?

    2024 Roku Ultra

When Roku announced the 2024 Roku Ultra I knew I just had to get it. So I got my 2024 Roku Ultra and Roku claimed it was 30% faster than the 2022 Roku Ultra (which I absolutely love and is my favorite streaming device) and the 2024 Roku Ultra is definitely and noticably faster than the 2022 Roku Ultra. It's faster, still just as easy to use easy to use and just works.

So now the 2024 Roku Ultra is my favorite streaming device

It comes with the Roku voice remote pro 2nd gen. It does hands free commands, lost remote finder, has a programmable button, a guide button, backlit buttons and is rechargeable. Now I used to say that the original Roku voice remote pro was the best remote ever and didn't think Roku could make it better and they did. The Roku voice remote pro 2nd gen is the best remote ever. Amazing!

The 2024 Roku Ultra is definitely worth getting.

Early I know, but what’s the best way to watch the Super Bowl 2025?

Cut my cable and am just on WiFi and do not want to go the YTTV, Hulu live or others permanently.

Happy to do a trial if available.

OTA doesn’t catch Fox, unfortunately, where it will be broadcast.

Has Anyone Canceled YouTube TV and Found One They Liked Better

I’m trying to boycott Google products, and I’m curious if anyone’s found a service as good or better than YouTube TV in their opinion?

The only requirements as far as channels go would be the 4 main local channels, ABC, CBS, NBC, & FOX • the 3 main cable news stations, CNN, MSNBC, & FOX • and the NFL Network

I also want to be able to record shows.

Where can I watch deferred or download the Futsal World Cup matches?

Hello. My question is as simple as that. I would love to watch the Futsal World Cup matches but can not watch them live. Is there a place where I can download them or watch them deferred?

I don't care about the language... just the matches.

    Roku did something

I have a Roku TV and hooked an indoor antenna right next to my window like last year. It didn't even have to go thru Roku ar all. If usually had good connection to CBS and Fox. I had to keep my antenna somewhere near the window facing the tower. Now that option isn't available. Everything goes through Roku? Did. Roku change something?

    Emmy viewing?

Emmys are on tonight. Is there a way to view them today?

I believe Hulu are streaming them tomorrow anyway but any live?

Have internet and apps; Hulu/Paramount plus.

But not YTTV or the other bigger services.

Edit: should’ve mentioned I have an antenna that doesn’t catch abc as people quite rightly, suggested an antenna.

How to watch UFC streams without paying the full PPV price

UFC events are exciting, but from what I noticed, the high cost of Pay-Per-View (PPV) can be a barrier for many fans. Fortunately, there are more affordable ways to cordcut UFC streams. In this post, I’ll go over two of the best options to stream UFC legally and affordably, no matter where you are.

    • UFC Fight Pass from Brazil

If you want a budget-friendly way to access UFC streams, the UFC Fight Pass in Brazil offers a solid deal. Starting at just R$29,90/month, which comes out to around $3, it’s one of the cheapest ways to watch. Even if you're not located in Brazil, you can sign up using a non-Brazilian credit card, giving you access to live events at a great price.

    • Mola.tv for UFC PPV and Fight Night

Mola.tv is another excellent option for those who want to watch UFC events without paying full price. This Indonesian streaming service offers UFC PPV main card fights and UFC Fight Night events for as low as $3 per month. However, it's only available in Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia. To access it from outside these regions, you will need to use a VPN to bypass geographical restrictions.

    VPN Recommendations

To access those UFC streams I’ve mentioned, you’ll need a VPN, unless you live in Brazil, Malaysia or Singapore. Both NordVPN and Surfshark are known to work well for this purpose.

If you’re considering NordVPN, you can use the coupon code offer for a discount, or if you prefer Surfshark, the code redditspecial will also give you a great deal (codes were taken from Reddit).

Using these options, don’t pay full price and keep up with all the action with trusty streams.

    Finally did it....

We recently moved to a new spot and we finally decided to ditch the cable line. We are running our smart TV with AT&T Fiber for online contents and bought a good quality HD antenna to help with the local channels. Still getting adjusted but knowing I won't have to shell out obnoxious amount for cable is great thing!

    Need to replace YouTubeTV

I just made my most recent payment and it’s now $78!!!! For the most part I watch very little on it. My wife likes The Bachelor and a few shows on the local stations. I get Netflix thru my T-Mobile account and Prime thru Amazon. I need a way to get rid of YouTube but be able to watch Fox News and ABC CBS Not big on the antenna since I can’t record

Any suggestions on a plan to accomplish this?

    Binge shows on Frndly TV?

I have tried the 7 day free trial I never could find a way to just set it to binge a specific show on my DVR recordings. Every time I tried to binge a show the DVR may show the next episode then after that it would just show me some random content that I recorded is there any way to change this?
