It’s been a long while since I looked but is there a way to:

1. change the default launcher on Android TV (I have a Philips TV and a TCL but a massive bonus if this also works for 4K Fire Sticks too)
2. remap the home buttons so I never need to see the stock launchers

I did the Amazon ones for a while from instructions I found but I read that the current firmwares stopped working, is there a way to stop/block updates from happening?

Hi! I have a Sony Bravia LED TV with Google TV and a built-in Chromecast. I am able to control the TV with my voice through my Google Home, cast everything directly from my Android phone or even control the TV with a digital controller in the Home app.

But now I want an OLED TV and apparently Sony is out of stock in my country, at least the models in interested in. I'm eyeing some Samsung and LG TVs that apparently have incredible picture quality but run on custom OS. But I want to keep the experience as similar to what I have today

If I buy a Chromecast dongle and connect it through USB on the new TV, am I correct to assume that I will be able to do exactly as I do now, ignoring the custom OS completely? Are there any restrictions or things that won't be possible?

Hi all. I just bought a Sony 4k TV and was curious which one of my devices would be best for my daily driver? Would the newer Cube provide a better picture or is my 2015 still King?

I am struggling with getting info on whether HDR is enabled or not when I watch certain content. When I connect my PS5, there and go to Picture Settings, there is an option to enable or disable HDR. I figured that this option appears only when HDR content is playing. Because I can see this option when I play HDR video on default YouTube app, and don't see it when I play SDR video on YouTube. But when I play an HDR video from USB drive there is no way to tell if it plays in HDR or SDR even with default media player. The HDR setting is simply not there. And when I use other media players, there is no way to open Picture Setting whatsoever (when I press the menu button on my remote, a settings menu for the app oppens, not the settings for the TV). Is there a better way to adjust HDR settings?

Hi! I have a Haier S3 Smart TV which I really like at this point but I ran into an issue with it and I am hoping there's a fix to it. Hope someone can help me.

I connected it to the Windows 10 PC with RTX 3060 and set it to 2160p. It works absolutely fine but when I turn the TV off it stays connected to the PC for a while, I can see it in monitor settings as a connected monitor. But a few minutes later it disconnects and after another few minutes in connects back and keeps going like that making my other monitors jump. How can I make it stay connected or disconnected, so it wouldn't reconnect all the time?

I turned off wake on lan and wifi, turned off the mic assistance but it still does this.

On AND9 , on the home page, you have to go to the left to get the suggestions menu etc..

On Android 11, it's impossible to go to the left.

Anyone having trouble subscribing to you tube channels on the Android TV smartube app? When I I subscribe it says you've subscribed to the channel, but when I go to the channels tab, the channel doesn't appear there. This has been happening for a month now.

hello i have a smart tv and my Internet connection is not very strong. so when online buffering Netflix change my content quality based on my Internet speed which is always SD quality. since there no option to download Netflix content in TV app (unlike mobile and laptop) i just want to if the android TV boxs have the same app as TV? or the android Netflix app? because i want to download the highest possible versions of the movie then watch it later. appreciate your feedback. thanks

So partner and I have had an EKO Smart TV for a couple months now, turned off all the standby mode stuff as it was turning the TV off even when it was actively in use. But for whatever reason even with all that off it still after quite a while of being on says its going to turn off in a few seconds when my partner is playing a game for example. This can be rather frustrating and so I'm wondering if there's something else I've missed as it's starting to drive my lady bonkers lol. Any help would be appreciated

Hi everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my viewing experience, currently using a non 4k mi stick because my experience with it has been horrible, I guess given its specs.

I've been considering getting the Chromecast with Google TV 4k or the Mi Box S 2nd gen, leaning more towards the former because so far I've read more issues for the Mi Box (browsing on their threads alone tells me its gonna be a pain in the a** while the only real issue l've read for CC is the laggy launcher, which I believe has workarounds(?))

I will mostly use it for casting (using web video cast, iweb tv, etc). I guess what I wanna ask is did you guys encounter any major issues, use-case wise or any problems I may face along the way or in the long run? When casting 4k vids? Wanna have the option to do that since I have a 4k tv. After a long day I just wanna be able to cast my shows withou any hitches so a more fluid device would help.

Also, any issues with the remote? :) The mi stick's remote disconnects so often (for me) that I wanna boil it and drink it just so l can pass it as sht.

Im trying to run android tv apps on my samsung a34 and i was wondering if there was any apps that can simulate a tv remote so i can use the apps

I was kinda getting bored of my ps4 pro console and i wanted to use PC as my console and stream using moonlight so I bought chromecast (HD version) for that but theres an issue. The diffrent input lag between using controller on ps4 and using controller on chromecast is very noticible. On ps4 it was playable but on chromecast joysticks feels more "heavy" in some games.

Moonlight reported Nerwork latency is 2/3ms, and decoding latency is 7.4/10 ms. So the connection beetween tv and pc is not the issue here at least i think.

Is there any way to make it less annoying ?

I have this problem with Codec audio EAC3 the Nokia tv box 8010 (Android 12) which I don't understand, since other older TV boxes do support it. I have tried with VLC and DX. I don't understand. anyone else with this problem?

Looking for a budget android TV box, generally able to stream 4k HDR content, no gaming etc for a second TV.

I've been playing Asphalt 8 on Android TV for, I don't know, 7 years? I would still be playing it, but they've withdrawn support for the Android TV play store version, among others (Samsung, Amazon, etc).

Can anyone recommend an alternative?

Things I like about Asphalt 8 are:

• good multiplayer gaming
• good physics emulation of car driving (I use immersive view so I'm looking out of the windscreen)
• nice in-game goals and rewards, slow and difficult if not laying out cash, but that's what I'm there for - the challenge.

Just upgraded to the Sony a95L from a 2020 Sony TV. And oh boy is the for you page horrible. I can't reorder or remove anything? Is that right? I have a random section near the top showing YouTube videos I have zero interest in.

I've heard about the app only setting which is fine but I really like the play next/continue watching feature which I'd lose.

I have an nvidia shield. I want a porn app that easy to use with the remote for browsing videos. Casting is not what I want. Any recommendations?

How can this be accomplished?
I go to settings > edit categories and all the cool ones that I want have a symbol next to them that implies they can't be shown. When I click on them, they say they're set to visible already. When I disable visibility, it shows that the category is cancelled.

If I have to pay to unlock this feature, I don't mind. I just don't know how to unlock the feature? It doesn't explicitly say it's paywalled.

I have a realme tv , and it's working on its own . It will work properly for a short time , and then it'll shut down on its own . Now it's moving on its own. I have a video , dm me if it's needed . Do tell me what I should do . Btw - it has the lastest Android version

I'm using ATV Launcher..I was using Projectivty Launcher but the home button stopped responding. Installed the ATV Launcher and paid for the PRO version. How can I get the APPLICATIONS to be at the bottom; NOT the top?

Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to block certain channels on SmartTubeNext. I am using an Android TV 9 and SmartTubeNext is not signed in to any account. I am concerned about children watching inappropriate channels, and I am not sure how to block these channels. I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to proceed.

Hi all, I recently bought an android TV stick (4k). I have an issue with the control. It lags very badly, to the point that it's unusable. I've found in Bluetooth connections that a connection is made with 'B10'. I found when I unpair with this it fixes the issue. The problem is that it auto connects to this each time the power is removed and reconnected. I've tried unpairing and deleting B10 but to no avail. Anybody know what the connection is or how to permanently fix? The instructions do not mention this connection whatsoever.

I seem to have an issue where smartube cuts off 2 or 4 seconds off a video, and I have no idea why. It’s really noticeable when the punchline to a video is at the end, and I’ve tried each update when they come out and fiddling with the settings, but nothing makes it better.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I recently purchased Xiaomi Google TV

I have to for volume increase or decrease I have to press button 5 times if I want to move from 20 to 25 or vice a versa. I MEAN for 1 button press = 1 point up / down.

I am not sure, but I think earlier it was not an issue. I think it started after I installed BUTTON REMAPPER app. Now, I uninstalled BUTTON REMAPPER, but still problem is there.

Actually like normal TV or anything else, on one click it should keep increasing or decreasing unless we release the button

Any solution? Please help

I don't have a TV. I have a computer monitor and some nice desktop speakers + subwoofer. I rarely watch TV, but recently Astound/RCN decided to upgrade my building to 1G and the TV/DVR is not a little AndroidTV box (Evoforce 1 Tevo) plus a remote that's larger than the little box.

I've been assured that the Evoforce Android TV doesn't have a volume control. I'm curious if I could trick it into having one with some APK I might sideload.

My very nice computer monitor has no volume control, my assumption is that it passes thru HDMI's volume to a 3.5mm audio socket. That socket is where I plug in my speakers. The speakers have a simple reheostat for adjusting the main volume, and 2nd for adjusting the subwoofer's. Anyhow it's all terribly loud.

When I have my Mac feeding the monitor over Thunderbolt the sound is too loud, but I can adjust that on the Mac.

The Evoforce does have a setting menu for configuring the giant remote. I.e. to set what the TV model is. I assume that means the remote control IR can shoot commands to both the little andoidTV box, and to the TV's IR receiver. It asks me to select one of many models. None of which seems relevant to my setup; but who knows?

Currently, I have Amazon sending me a 10 inch long 3.5mm extension cable which includes a volume control. Maybe that will work.
