Here me out, all the rumors about Ingram is cool but if we get Zion history tells us that our odds of winning at a high level will happen.
Recent players the pelicans have lost
Dyson: GOAT
Larry Nance Jr: GOAT jr
Josh Hart: going crazy in NY
Jrue Holiday: 2x NBA champ
AD: NBA champ
Lonzo: looked great until he got hurt
Zion will reach his potential and the fatass has to keep off the weight with the lobs Trae will be tossing him
Our shooting woes continue. Last night Risarcher played extremely well and showed a glimpse of his potential. What I like about Risarcher is that he's a shooter and shooters shoot.
He's generally not as efficient as he was last night but even if he's missed shots and he's on a slump he takes open shots without hesitation.
The bad shooting is starting to get into the heads of some of the players. Dyson, for example, does not want to take 3s but will if he has NO reason not to. If the defender starts a close out he pumps and drives. The defender knows this and meets him in the paint where he tries his floater. At least twice a game I yell, "Shoot it Dyson," when he catches the ball behind the three.
Is he probably going to miss? Sure, but if it's a good shot just take it. It may go in and it at least brings legitimacy to the pump fake. If Risarcher gets a pass and he's open in the corner and the closeout is coming he's taking the shot. It's probably going to go halfway down and come out but it's not a bad shot.
I understand the allure of getting Ingram. He’s a guy who can get his own bucket, sometimes create and would provide more offensively than some of our other guys.
But I’m not quite seeing the fit, even currently.
Assuming he’s healthy would we start Trae, Dyson, Ris, Ingram, OO?
Firstly without Jalen I really want Risascher to take on a bigger offensive role to help develop his game. Ingram would definitely take away from this.
If this is the case, we would also have a very undersized and less physical front court. We already struggle with defensive physicality and rebounding with our current team and I think it may get worse if we added BI to the mix. I fear teams would find it even easier then now to score in the paint or get second chance opportunities.
I’m not completely against the move, and can sort of understand the interest. But I just don’t understand how he would fit into this current iteration of our team. Would the lineup shift to having someone specific off the bench? Idk
I watched the Houston / Memphis game after the Hawks game last night, and was struck by the level of physicality on both teams. For all the ups and downs of this year, I’ve enjoyed seeing a Hawks team that plays good defense. This is probably the best defensive squad we’ve had since I have been following the team.
BUT, I would not say this Hawks team is particularly physically dominant. Am I wrong? Does it even matter in terms of winning? What do y’all think?
Wasn't sure if this sub banned Twitter links or not. But this report is pretty easily accessible on that platform/elsewhere online
I'll probably play devil's advocate compared to what I assume this sub's reaction will be to this (F NO!)... Ingram is exactly the type of self-made offense we need right now.
No, this won't make us title contenders this year. But we can avoid disaster of falling out of the play-in and see if a Trae/Ingram combo works. If it does, try to re-sign him at a nice number. If not... he's an UFA to be.. see ya!
The most important thing, though, is the price. It sounds like the Pelicans are basically ready to move on. He SHOULD be cheap. As long as the Hawks aren't giving up anything of value, i think it's a good traade.
According to Windy & Brad Rowland both are hearing chatter about Ingram to Atlanta .. although we hear this a LOT I think it’s different this time considering how we’ve been handling bogi/clint & how bad the Pels are this season …my initial thoughts are you only do a trade like this 1) if you believe you can still be a T6 seed which is definitely possible & 2) his value has reached rock bottom & it’ll only take salary & one pick .
It’s well known he’s interested in a max this summer so another thing I doubt we make a move like that if he doesn’t agree to a contract before hand and he’s with Kluth so we know how that goes .. he’s making 36 million so we’re definitely looking at trading 2 of Dre/clint/ bogi .. thoughts ? Think this can get us back into T6 seed convos (only 2.5 games out)
I’m a Hawks fan, and I love Trae—however I’m not sure we can win a championship with him as our best player. While he obviously deserved a spot over Herro, but is it the snub that absurd?
Looking at his stats this season, aside from assists and rebounds, he’s having either the worst or second-worst year of his career in nearly every major category. Even his free throw percentage is at a career low, and he’s turning the ball over more than ever. It’s concerning because he’s in his prime, yet a lot of his key numbers are trending in the wrong direction.
I heard Chuck say Trae got snubbed, and I agree. But when you compare this season to his previous ones, it’s actually pretty underwhelming.
Super random but I totally forgot he was on that team. He averaged 10/2/4 on 42% shooting, but did the eye test indicate he was very important to that team's regular season success?
As we all know the season is pretty much over unless we make a trade that can somehow turn our season around ( we won’t , because we won’t be trading our future first unless a REAL ⭐️ is out there )
It truly sucks man … it really do because we all saw how fucking good we can be for those two weeks man .. top 15 offense & defense for the season at one point , T10 O&D in the 4th quarter & at one point had a +12 net rating & 14-8 record in clutch games good for 5th in the league (literally just a week ago). Unfortunately our health lasted 2 weeks & it gave us a glimpse of hope of what we can be & what we were building . The best part was we was beating contenders , handling business all while Trae , Bogi , Zacch was struggling to be the shooters they are .. makes me genuinely sad thinking about next year because who knows if the guy who makes all this works is here next year .. how much longer will Trae give us ? It’s obvious how much Trae wanna get it done here in Atlanta but most franchise guys limit is around 7 years till they look elsewhere.. , hopefully not the case
Anyways , what’s you guys thoughts about the rest of the season ? Think it could be saved with a trade whether a big one or just fitting pieces or are you just hoping the kings & lakers can somehow save us ? (Ps: even with a 7 game losing streak we’re still only 3 games out of 6 LOL)
