Hi I just got accepted to GSU for fall 25’, I have a 2.6 GPA ( I had a really bad freshman and sophomore year ) and I’m scared of getting my acceptance taken away from my senior year cuz I just failed 2 classes for the 9 weeks ( I let stuff get in my head and did bad in the classes ) I’m scared now they’ll take it away when I have to send my final highschool transcript for when I graduate. ( the classes I failed were 2 ap, but again just for the 9 weeks ) can someone reassure me that they won’t take away my acceptance, or give it to me honestly what’s gonna happen ?
I was supposed to receive almost $3000, but on got $900 something. When I log into the billing portal it still says I have a negative balance. Will I receive the other part later?
hi everyone. will i struggle as a communication(s studies) major if i struggled with understanding theories taught in psychology and sociology? the reason i ask is because i’ve heard that as a communication major, you’re taught communication theories and that it’s a social science. i just want to make sure that i don’t struggle with understanding communication theories as well. thanks in advance.
I’m an international student. I applied to gsu for freshman fall 2025. Actually I want to see what are my chances to get scholarship I had applied for regular decision and my grades and scores are pretty good to get a merit scholarship. But I applied for RD do you think I will be able to secure a merit scholarship
Thinking about applying to honors college my sophomore year (next semester). Any active or graduated honors students have any opinions on the program? What were the benefits and did you receive any scholarships? Any tips for the application would also be greatly appreciated
Hey everyone! Just wanted to share something helpful for pre-med students here. My name’s Bharat, and I’m a third-year medical student in Georgia.
A few med school friends and I have been working on a mentoring and networking project designed to support pre-med students. We know how overwhelming the pre-med journey can be, so this is our way of giving back and making things a little easier.
If that sounds interesting to you, feel free to drop a comment!
First time student. I've lived here pretty much my whole life when it was always Armstrong. Since local coffee shops I frequent close around 6-7, where's a good place to go on a weekday evening or weekend to study/get some work done on my laptop? The Library?
Hi
I am an international student and recently applied for a Doctoral program at Georgia Southern University in the US. My prospective supervisor told me to submit an admission application first in order to get funded. Now, I have been admitted, and I informed my supervisor about my decision. He said that he placed me in a pool of applicants and waiting for a proposal review. What type of proposal is it? Is this about the applicants who are going to be his prospective students? How much time university take to finalize the review of the proposal?
Thanks
I'm in high school and i'm conducting a survey for my AP Research project and I need some college students from the atlanta metro area (18-25 year olds) to fill it out. It should take 5-7 minutes tops. I would really appreciate the help!! Here is the link to my survey: https://forms.gle/tS2NQMBVnoCX81v18 !!

Are most of the teachers good, sort of just 50/50 or are they all mostly shit? Is the business school good? Is GSU good for connections to the business world?

Eagles down Chants easily in the early afternoon tip thanks in large part to Eren Banks’ 100% 3 pt shooting and 18 total points.
We moved here a few months and I need to know what is the process of admissions. Someone with visa TD?
Does anyone know if the RAC at Statesboro is doing normal operation hours despite the snow?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but are online students required to live on campus? I know first years are required to but im really hoping online students are exempt
Do they complete work orders on Sundays in the dorms?
What restaurants actually work with eagle express
Hi! I'm doing a paid research study for my master's thesis, and wanted to spread the news. It's a mock trial study, and if you do it you'll get $8.50 or extra credit (if you're in certain psychology and criminal justice classes, check with your professor). Plus you get to learn about what juries are like, and make a verdict on a manslaughter case.
If you have any questions, let me know at kk15515@georgiasouthern.edu
Outline of what you'll see:
I know "survey questions" is a little vague, but I don't want to exactly tell you what those questions are, as you could very easily look up examples of them, and I prefer my participants come into the survey without any preconceptions of what the questions will be.
General info on signing up:
I'll update the google form (what the QR code from the flyer links to) (https://forms.gle/SfyWveGxnSj2Lccx7) to add more times as we get further into January, but feel free to email me if you want to come into the lab at different times. I don't put hyper specific times slots like 2:35-3:35 on the google form, as that would quickly turn into too many questions, but when I'm going to be down there from 2pm-4pm, coming in at 2:35 is not an issue.
Participant FAQ:
What are the requirements to be in the study?
You have to be 18 or older, and be GSU student. Both undergrads and grad students can do the study!
Is this an online study?
Nope! It's in person, at Brennan Hall. That's the pscyhology building near the baseball stadium.
How long does the study take?
I sign people up for an hour, but I’ve never had anyone take the full hour. It usually takes around 30 minutes.
Do I need to bring anything?
No, just yourself!
Are there any gory pictures?
Nope, there are no graphic images. However this is a study based on an actual murder case, so be aware that the subject matter can be distressing.
How long can I sign up?
You can sign up for the study until Feb 14th.
I did an online study called juror decision making. Is this the same study?
Nope! There is a similar named study on SONA, but this is currently the only in person mock juror study. You can still do this study if you have done a different mock juror study before.
does anyone know if there’s any possibility whatsoever of switching classes after the add classes deadline. i’m enrolled in an introductory to philosophy class this semester, but would like to switch it to introductory to ethics class
I have a 2.4 right now and I’m planning to get a 4.0 this semester to get to a 3.0. First of all, that is possible, right? Second, what grades do I need to get to get a 3.5 after the summer term? I’m doing 12 credit hours in the summer and 13 credit hours this spring
This is my first semester here at gsu & i was wondering how do i become involved on campus and what are some fun things to do around here? #statesboro
So, I am a dual enrollment student and I did not reach the satisfactory appeal progress due to me withdrawing a class, I submitted an appeal and I was denied for it. The amount that I owe, my father said he would pay and now he can’t . What is the course of action the college will take?
I just transferred here and saw that there was no running club or student organization on campus. Is anyone on here interested in starting one?
I'm currently finishing my applications for some colleges this month and my confidence isn't really the best due to one or two things, so I'm coming here for some reassurance hopefully.

Intended major: civil/chemical engineering
Test scores: 1280 SAT score
GPA:
3.25 unweighted secondary school gpa (school doesn't do weighted)
estimated csec gpa: 3.5
For those that don't know (probably all of you) CSEC is the standard examination that caribbean students take before graduating secondary school. it is equivalent to the Ordinary Level (O-Levels) exams and is typically taken by students at the end of their secondary education, around the age of 16 or 17. Hence, the U.S. equivalence of CSEC is a high school diploma. The highest possible grade is 1 and the lowest being a 6. Grades 1 to 3 are considered a pass.
I took 9 subjects and attained:
six grade 1s ( Chemistry, physics, biology, math, English A, Technical drawing)
two grade 2s ( French, Principles of Accounts(POA) )
one grade 3 ( Additional maths( some what of an introduction to A level maths) )
Cape GPA: 3.25
CAPE stands for Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination. It is considered a Post-Secondary Education qualification as it is normally written when students are in the sixth form years of secondary schools. Its is equivalent to A levels. It is graded from 1 to 7 and grades 1 to 5 is considered a pass. It is split between two units (1 and 2). Im currently doing unit 2.
in unit 1 attained:
one grade 1 ( CHemistry)
three grade 3s ( Pure maths, Physics, Communication studies(compulsory in unit 1) )
IMPORTANT
i currently attend a community college but i have to apply as first year. In my first semester my grandmother died and i had to travel back to jamaica in the middle of the semester for two weeks. it messed me up pretty badly and i missed out a lot unfortunately with the addition of sickness i ended up failing my first semester. I don't know how bad that will mess up my chances. i did pass my second semester in the first year.

I know you guys may not know a lot if not nay of what I'm talking about but i just need some reassurance.
I was in William Holley’s Elem Fren I class at the start of the week but the class charged me $150-$180 for the textbook. I had to drop it. But I can’t find any classes for me. I’m waitlisted for career ethics and professionalism 02F with Silvia Flores and Psychological Disorders with Calla Pritulsky. But if those don’t work out, does anyone know of any French classes that don’t have massive textbook fees?
Edit: Also, Does anyone know what the general free electives are for psychology majors? Idk what to be looking for
Anyone with free or very cheap pdfs to textbooks for Public health classes. None of my required books are available through bookstore and are actually 75 plus just to rent 🤧
