Hello,
My girlfriend is considering transferring to UGA next year and leasing an apartment in Athens with roommates. I am posting on her behalf as she does not have Reddit. Here is what she is looking for in roommates: —Female only —Cat friendly —Willing to chip in around the apartment and do chores —Fairly studious and infrequent partier Additionally, my girlfriend is a Mormon so if any of you out there are Mormons that is an added bonus. Her budget cap is $600 a month. Thank you.
I’m posting this here in hopes the right students will see this and create a massive stink about it to the school.
So, I recently had an encounter with a guy near a Domino’s Pizza. He was asking for food and begging for money while I was holding a whole Domino’s pizza box.
I offered him if he wanted two-three slices of pizza since he seemed nice, but he responded with, “Ain’t no way; I need the whole box or $15.” My immediate thought was like, “god dammit.” I was silent thinking about what to do for the next two minutes while he kept on saying please the whole time. Then I just bolted out of there.
This was my first time in a situation like this, and I felt a bit guilty afterward as a first-year at UGA. Did I handle this wrong?
Do I have to have the skin test done for the form to count? Or can I simply fill out the rest of the TB form? I don’t think I’ve ever done it and I’m unsure if I should schedule it. I still have an immunization hold because of the TB portion…
So, I need to take history and the ga constituion exam but don't know which materials to get. Can someone share their study guides/tips they used to pass either one? Thank you so much. I already failed the constitution exam because I didn't study lol.
Girls that live in the ECV (aka dorms that stay open over thanksgiving break): are any of y’all going home over thanksgiving and would let me crash in your room (or not going home and would let me crash on the floor) Wednesday and Thursday night? I’m a freshman out-of-state student from across the literal country, can’t go home, and ended up in a dorm that closes over the break. I can try to rent a hotel or air bnb, and will if I have to, but I’d rather not for financial reasons (plus a lot are booked out for the game). I promise I’m very quiet and respectful, I’ll spend most of the time elsewhere, I just need somewhere to sleep for those two nights. Thank you in advance 🥲
I saw a lot of people dressing up for Halloween last weekend, will people still be in costumes tonight and this weekend since Halloween was yesterday?
Hi everyone!
I’m a senior and need a girl to take over my lease for spring. I joined all these sublease/lease takeover groups on Facebook MONTHS ago and the admin won’t approve my posts because they’re all basically bots 😔.
The place is nice, and I have 3 girls roomies. Any advice on where to list it? I’m scared because I have never had a problem getting leases rented in the past. Rent is good as well, it’s $700. Thank you guys!
I went to UGA in the early 2010s. That precious woman was an angel sent from God. She comforted us all, and her spirit never ran out. I know there will be a special place in Heaven for her beautiful soul. I could really use a Ms. Sandra hug right now. I’m sure we all could.
So this is Daisy May and she was out to night because it's raining here in Ms so didn't expect trick or treaters and well we obviously still like Ga (I'm lived in Athens for almost 20 years) so we have a Ga flag and my mom's wearing a Ga jersey and this little kid about 12ish screamed Georgia when he walked up then seen her and said oh shoot they have a Fucking Ga bulldog 😂😂😂 no lie lliterally said that 😂😂😂😂 we have a ring cam and it picked it up.
Are there any good halloween parties going on tonight and where?
hey, i’m a first year! so i genuinely don’t know why i thought i would be able to wake up in time for it but i scheduled myself a career center advisement appointment for virtually over handshake at 8:30am today and overslept it.. the moment i woke up (which was basically right when the meeting would’ve ended), i emailed the advisor i was going to meet with an apology. are there any consequences to being a “no show” for handshake appointments? (not referring to interviews or meetings)
i asked an upperclassman friend about it and she said it’s definitely bad since it’ll go on your advising record, but what exactly would this mean, and is it really that serious.. i’m freaking out a bit lol i don’t think it would be a big deal since i emailed her with a genuine apology but i haven’t gotten a response yet
A guy with a pink voting vest at the arches found someone’s bag. Go retrieve it!
Hey guys where am I supposed to get my cap and gown for fall graduation any info helps thanks!
I transferred for the fall semester and have a hard time meeting people and its honestly made being here miserable and depressing for me. I know I have to put in some effort and I just want to know if there was something where I could meet people similar to me or my situation!
I take the bus everyday, mostly health sciences and night campus, and the bus drivers are so awesome. I'm so grateful that they are getting me to and from campus safely and as quickly as they can. The health sciences bus drivers are so nice too. One lady consistently updates us on the UGA news of the week and always wishes us a good day. I love that the bus drivers are always kind, helpful, and doing their best to get me home and to campus quickly. Them, as well as many of the workers on campus like custodial, dining staff, and maintenance technicians are part of the backbone of campus and I'm really grateful for them.
I posted on the athens sub but what would be something indoor entertainment that would be great year round? I have a relatively large warehouse off of atl hwy so I want ideas. Anything from arcade, bowling alley, indoor mini golf, skating rink possibilities are endless I just want to know what the city wants
help me hate tech
edit: thank you all for helping me hate tech. i am now excited to officially be a bulldog 🐶
Gotta give credit to you. Georgia voters age 18-24 are likely the most active voters in the entire country in terms of early voting. Please make a plan to vote - it makes a difference.
A story: my daughter goes to UGA, I went to Auburn. Used to hate the Dawgs now God help me I wear the red and black on game days except for the Auburn game. My first time voting was back in 1988. I voted for Bush, and tried to pull the lever - voting then was on these old lever machines - for Lloyd Bentsen for VP, a Democrat. Wasn’t allowed so I pulled it for Quayle. Oh well. Well I still remember that night I voted. The smell of gun lube in the air, a feeling of patriotism. I later actually joined the National Guard, and point to that night of voting as why. Actually I was on academic probation and had to do something.
Anyway, I’ve always voted R, sometimes D. Until, ya know, lately. Now I vote for sanity.
That was 36 years ago. Vote this election and you remember it forever. Not to be dramatic but the trajectory of my life was changed that night and I didn’t realize it until years later.
Know you’re awesome and I’m proud of you. Go Dawgs!
guys i love studying at coffee shops except the local is closed in downtown for maintenance and since they haven’t said when it’ll be done im LOST indefinitely…
so what coffee shops around athens do yall recommend for studying? i def need outlets (my computer battery is on its last leg) and it doesn’t necessarily need to be quiet, just enough room to work!
thanks in advance☺️
i’ve sat at the university health center stop and watched 2 ec buses that were supposed to come here go out of service and leave😥👎 i could’ve run to class
got a korean friend trying to come to UGA for the spring semester, they want to do off campus because it’s cheaper, however they’re having a hard time finding an apartment lease for next semester, anybody have any ideas how to find a apartment for next semester or roommates in general? or should they just stay on campus
Hello!
I'm trying to put together a game the some friends and I was wondering if y'all knew where I could like rent or use a court on campus? I tried looking it up and couldn't find a direct answer.
Thanks!
I found someone's... well I guess Mia Liang's onecard outside the poultry science building and Science Library. Wasn't too sure what to do, so I turned it into the onecard office at Tate. Hope it gets back to its owner.
Hello! I am a drummer and my friend is a bass player. We are looking for a lead guitar player, a rhythm guitar player, and a vocalist for our band. (If you do both rhythm and vocals that’s fine too). Our genre influences are grunge, emo, indie, punk, etc. pretty much just rock in general. Our main goal is to start off playing rock crowd pleasers at parties and such but then eventually start writing our own music. Dm me if interested, thanks!!
