Thanksgiving food suggestions

Hey ATL! We are hosting family this year for Thanksgiving dinner. We will have 17 people.

  1. Looking for suggestions of where to get a cooked Turkey (definitely not cooking at home), sides (stuffing, mac & cheese, casseroles), and pies/desserts.
  2. Some options we have thought of so far are Whole Foods and Alon’s bakery. Anyone have experience getting Turkey and sides/desserts from these places?

Looking for something that is a bit more non-traditional as well for sides. We floated the idea of Desta for sides to have some variety. TIA for your help!!

Amateur/adult ballet performances?

I’m 26 y/o and getting back into ballet (danced ages 3-17) by taking adult classes at a few studios around ATL. Has anyone found an amateur ballet company or amateur performance opportunities for adults? Internet searches get overrun with professional opportunities, so I’m hoping someone out there knows of something! (Would do anything to have another Nutcracker season.) TIA!!

Looking for a surgeon - condylar hyperplasia

I have a significant case of TMJ, and have probably worn down at least 1/3rd of my teeth by this point in my late 30s. I've always had a somewhat noticeable jawline asymmetry that folks close to me have mentioned. I've worn braces multiple times and saw a doc last year to try to get a diagnosis for orthographic surgery, but pushed me back towards getting braces a third time. I've been lurking over at /r/jawsurgery for a few months now and found the name of the condition to describe what i have - condylar hyperplasia

Has anyone else here in Atlanta gone to a doc to get this kind of issue taken care of? Seems like many of the folks over in the other reddit are based over in Europe, and a google seach for "condylar hyperplasia atlanta" doesn't lead me to any specific practices or doctors.

Thanks!

Seeking Pottery Session Recommendations in Atlanta

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a pottery session for two beginners in Atlanta. It will be a one-time thing, as we probably won’t do it again; we just want to explore. Could you send me some addresses? It’s hard to decipher the options online.

Thank you!

Looking to Pay a experienced mechanic in Atlanta

I have a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge, I have been having problems with it for a couple of months now. I believe there to multiple issues with it. I want to find someone who knows what they are talking about to give me a diagonitics from top to bottom for a reasonable price. I believe there to be coolant line issues as well as a possible blown head gasket. If you are interested in helping, I am in the metro atlanta area. Please leave a comment or message me if you or someone you know would be interested.

This is my first time ever looking for something like this through reddit but I thought it was worth a shot.

Thanks

private schools near grant park?

My son is 5 and his birthday is in July making him one of the younger kids in his class. After pre-K we elected to try a private school for a year instead of going right to kindergarten (which for us would be Barak and Michelle Obama Academy in Peoplestown).

He is currently enrolled in a Montessori-style 'micro-school' in Grant Park, which told us yesterday they don't think he is a good fit for the school. He doesn't have any major behavioral issues but is struggling with the self-directed format, listening when he should, keeping his hands to himself etc (normal 5-year old stuff really). The school basically said, we are so small, we don't have the resources for kids who need more attension. Does anyone have any recommendations for other private schools in the Grant Park, Ormewood, EAV etc. area?

Who has the best men's boots in Atlanta?

My Frye's got ruined, and I need to get some boots next week. I got wide feet, so I'd like to get them from a local store, so I can try them on. What recommendations y'all got?

Best Place for Dress Trousers?

I'm needing more formal business trousers, and I find it hard to find a great fit through mail order.

I'd like to find a place that has a variety of fits and sizes, but more traditional, not slim fit stuff.

I've been to H.Stockton and Mashburn for jackets and shirts, but I don't know which is has a better range of fit, and maybe I'm missing something, are their similar level of quality that are better.

Korean Catering

I am looking for a Korean catering service that does the catering as well. Every caterer that has been contacted say they cannot do it and all our favorite spots either don't do catering orders or just make the food and wont deliver or cater. Anyone know of one that does it all? It is for our wedding.

thanks!
