Check out our list of tips and tricks for Android Wear.

The most popular Android Wear watches:

LG Watch Sport ($350) - a fully-featured and rugged watch featuring the latest software, LTE, NFC, a speaker, and a rotating crown. Ships with AW2. /r/lgwatchsport/

LG Watch Style ($250) - an Android Wear 2 watch that covers the basics and features a slim, sleek design with a rotating crown. Ships with AW2. /r/lgwatchstyle/

Huawei Watch 2 ($300) - a powerful AW2 watch with everything from 4G (int'l-only) to NFC, along with longer battery life and more interchangeable bands than the LG Watch Sport and a "dumb watch" mode that lasts for 25 days on a charge. Ships with AW2. /r/hwatch/

ZTE Quartz ($192) - a rugged yet stylish AW2 3G-connected watch with longer battery life and a lower price than its competitors. Ships with AW2.

Asus Zenwatch 3 ($229) - a beautiful and thin watch that charges fast, less rugged and sporty than most others. Update to AW2 available now. /r/zenwatch

Fossil Q ($255-$275) - Fossil's line of AW2-powered watches that look sleek and go well with the fanciest of attire. Update to AW2 available now. /r/fossilaw

Misfit Vapor ($200) - A reasonably priced and slim stylish smartwatch with the cool touches from Misfit you'd expect, out now. Ships with AW2. /r/misfitvapor

Ticwatch S and E (S $200 and E $160) - Impressive and impressively cheap, these watches are cute and do all the basics of Android Wear. S is for Sport, and it has a delightfully sporty look with extra-accurate GPS. E is for Express, and it has replaceable bands and a lighter body. Ships with AW2. /r/ticwatch

Tag Heuer Connected Modular 41 and 45 (41 $1200+ and 45 $1550+) - Tag Heuer's ultra-luxe AW2 watches are in a league of their own—beautiful inside and out, with gorgeous designs and nearly every feature you could want—and that makes a for a price in a league of its own as well. We recommend the Modular 41 (over the 45) for its updated specs, slimmer chassis, and slightly reduced price. Ships with AW2. /r/tagheuer

Moto 360 2nd Gen ($250) - Motorola's last smartwatch looks equally great with a suit and tie or with running clothes and runs AW2 without a hiccup, making it a great alternative to the LG Watch Style. Update to AW2 available now (including Sport model). /r/moto360

LG Watch Urbane 2nd Gen ($300) - A slim and sleek fully-featured smartwatch with LTE, NFC, and GPS that fits in with fancy attire. Update to AW2 available (except Verizon model). /r/lgwatchurbane

Casio WSD-F20 ($500) - A large and bulky watch for those that spend their days hiking or sailing, with a wide array of sensors with great apps to support them and a sunlight-visible transflective display. Ships with AW2. /r/casiowsd

Why are many smarwatch sizes gender locked?

Although I'm somewhat tall at 6ft and fairly heavy at 180lbs, I have the smallest wrists and hands in my friend group. I can't wear any watch over 40~mm without looking goofie.

Unfortunately the small versions of many smart watches have a feminine design/colour while the bigger versions have a masculine design/colour, especially for the new models and the pro models.

So I either wear a feminine looking watch, a big goofie looking watch or an older model...

For reference: My wrist is 2.2 inches in width.

No good allrounder smart watch available?

I've been researching SmartWatches for the first time over the last two days and to my surprise, there isn't a great all-rounder like the Apple Watch for Android users.

My priorities are:

  • General accurate biomarkers during weightlifting
  • Accurate Health data
  • Sleep quality data
  • Cellular + some music apps

Huawei: Accurate biomarkers, garbage sleep data Samsung: Has it all but nothing accurate Google: Kinda like Samsung Garmin: Purelz for sport, no every day use or cellular Apple: Basically has it all

Am I missing something?

So far i'm thinking of opting for Huawei + an Oura ring. Does anyone know how accurate the data of the ultra human compares to the Oura ring? To me surprise the quantified scientist has no video about the ultra human ring.

Help smartwatch choose

Hello!
I'm looking for a smartwatch up to 300$ (I can consider adding a bit more if it's worth it). I have a OnePlus 12 phone. It will mainly be used daily, and I would like it to have a lot of health information and good quality data such as body battery, recovery status, etc.
I'm a gadget freak and a sports nut, so the more information about my sports activity, the better - soccer 4x a week (here info from a band, but it's not a must-have), running, biking.
So far, I've been considering some Huawei or Amazfit, but I would like to hear your opinion!

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 40mm only connects remotely to my phone, is this a bug?

Hi everyone, I got a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 40mm running on Wear OS 4.0, One UI 5.0 Watch vR860XXU1HXB7 and I notice that lately my watch only connects remotely to my phone and not with Wear OS which results in a shorter battery life on my watch as WIFI is on all the time. This is what I've tried to solve my issue:

- Reinstalling Galaxy Wearable.

- Reinstalling Galaxy Watch 4 Plugin.

- Clearing cache of Google Play Services on my phone.

- Repairing my smartwatch through the phone's settings.

- Repairing my smartwatch through transferring my watch my phone.

- Resetting my smartwatch.

All of these didn't solve my issue at all and I'm aware that I'm not the only one suffering from this issue as there are more people with this problem so I'm asking if this is a bug or actually a issue on my smartwatch at all.

Thanks for your help, effort and time in advance!

Just purchased a Pixel Watch LTE for 110€ on Ebay

Honestly it's super sleek and it works well. Still have to try the battery duration but the former user always used it with a screen protector and a case.

The former owner also provided spare cases and protectors, but I don't really like how the case makes the buttons and the crown hard to use, so I'm considering dropping both of them in favor of a more pleasant usage experience... Do you have experience using it without protection ?

Voice record from a complication. Is this possible?

I want to quickly start a voice recording by clicking on a complication on the watchface. I have a Samsung GW4.

I tried the built in recorder and I have tried a couple of voice recorder apps from playstore. But none of them offer this functionality. So i am wondering is this even possible? Is there any app that will let me do this.

I know i can have a separate screen/tile and start the recording there. But in my current setup i have to scroll 2 pages to get to that. The first screen is my reminders which i use all the time so it cannot be replaced. I am looking for a faster way to save voice notes.

Update 1:

From the discussion below it seems to me like Any app that offers one of these features will do.

A. Automatically start recording as soon the app is launched.

  • This way i can assign the app to a complication
  • Clicking on the complication will open the app and automatically start recording.

B. Offers a shortcut / intent to start recording

  • This way i can assign the shortcut / intent to the complication
  • Clicking on the complication will start recording, while the app may or may not be launched.

Thanks in advance.

Fossil Gen 6 on Sale for $79

I've never owned a smart watch before but am interested in getting one for general use and fitness. I'd love to have a Pixel Watch 2 or something but the price is a little hard to swallow.

Is the Gen 6 worth it for $80 or am I likely to get frustrated with the aging tech? FWIW, I have a Pixel 7.

Thanks, y'all!

I'm looking for a watch that can hear voice commands and pull up a note?

This is probably obvious upon reading, but please assume I know nothing about watches except that they can tell the time. Any help is appreciated!

Like the title says, I'm looking for a smart watch that can hear my voice command and automatically open a note that I have associated with that specific command. I don't really want the watch to read the note out loud but if this is unavoidable, that's fine.

The notes the watch pulls up don't need to be super long, most of them will only be a few sentences long. I just want to be able to tell my watch "bigfoot" and have it show me the note I wrote about Bigfoot earlier. The watch doesn't have to be able to create the note, I can do that with my phone, i just need it show it to me. Thanks!

What Galaxy Watch to Buy?

Hey guys, I'd like to try a Galaxy Watch I think. My dad has had a Watch 3 for the past few years, and really likes it. It's held up well for him. I do landscape maintenance, so I need something durable and inexpensive for when I inevitability end up smashing it into something at work. I really think I'd appreciate some of the smart Watch features, like being able to see who's calling, or who text me without having to pull my phone out. Would I be able to navigate the YouTube Music Revanced app on it? If that is possible that would be great. Anyway, for a cheap durable work Watch, am I better off with a Watch 4 or 4 Classic? I prefer the looks of the 4, but think the bezel on the Classic may protect it some. Thanks in advance!

Julian date complication

Does anyone know a watch face or if there is a way to get a julian date complication? I use julian date at my job multiple times a day and it would be great to get it at a glance instead of having to walk to a calendar when i forget it.

Best (not ridiculously priced) full-featured smartwatch for fitness?

I want to get a smartwatch for two reasons. First, I want good fitness tracking that will be effective for lifting and cardio exercise (as well as swimming if possible, but that's secondary). Second, I want all the normal smartwatch features like maps, messaging, and I'd like to be able to look at stocks (Robinhood) as well. Can anyone suggest a smartwatch that would fit these criteria and is good bang for the buck? Thanks.

Smartwatch Phone with google calendar

Hello everyone,

I heavily rely on Google Calendar but often forget to check it, so I thought a smartwatch could help me stay on track. Unfortunately, after purchasing WEAR OS - Galaxy Classic 6, Mobvoi Pro 5, and Mobvoi E2, I found that none of these watches met my needs. They lacked a simple, editable list feature for Google Calendar where I could modify and add tasks directly. I tried using Sectograph, but it required me to edit tasks via my phone, which was time-consuming, and I didn't like the circular display format. I was hoping for something that mirrored the "day view" option on Google Calendar. Outlook, just showed an event and wasnt really a calendar..

I also experimented with a €70 Chinese smartwatch phone from AliExpress, featuring Android 8, 128GB ROM, 4G, an 800mA battery, and a Zhanrui 8541E processor. The phone is almost perfect except for the battery life, which lasts about a day with the screen off. My main requirement is a smartwatch that supports Google Calendar functionality similar to what's on my phone, where I can update, add, and move tasks effortlessly. It might seem like a basic feature, but I'm struggling to find it. If anyone has suggestions or alternatives, I would greatly appreciate it.

TLTR: best smartphone on the wrist, with a good battery life that I can use a lot with a scree on and I could use google calendar, just like on the computer(adding, moving tasks,)

Trying to find an app (page turner)

So I'm reading more on my phone and my joints are suffering a little(long term condition but nothing major). I'm convinced there has to be a way to use my smart watch to scroll and or turn a page.

All I need is an app that lets me swipe up, down, left and right. I'm shocked I can't find it. thoughts?

Struggling to Decide: Amazfit Bip 3 vs Spade & Co. Health Smartwatch 3

Hey everyone,

Having a tough time picking between the Spade & Co. Health Smartwatch 3 and the Amazfit Bip 3. I'm on a budget and both seem like good options.

The Spade & Co. watch is definitely cheaper and blows me away with the 2-week battery life. Plus, it has workout tracking, which is a must for me.

But since price is a big factor, I'm wondering if the Health Smartwatch 3 can compete with the Amazfit Bip 3. Anyone out there who's tried both?

Curious about any performance or responsiveness differences. Also, how about pros and cons for each?

Another thing - are Spade & Co. watches even any good? New to the smartwatch world, so I'm not picky, but I don't want to make a bad call.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Which Smart Watch models support synchronization of notifications between watch and phone?

Greetings!

I find it difficult to find information on the synchronization of notifications between smart watch models and phones. By synchronization I mean that notification is removed from the phone when it is read (swiped) on the watch, and notification is removed from the watch when it was read on the phone.

Samsung Watch + Samsung phone have that, but I can't say I'm a big fan of their watch models.

What other devices support such synchronization?

Thank you.

The best watch for health monitoring?

Hello guys, my father's birthday is coming up and I wanted to buy him a smart watch. He is a diabetic and is very careful about his health, so I would like to buy him a watch that can make Some medical checks (such as heartbeat, sleep, etc.). I am gambling between the Spade and Co watch and the Fitbit watch. In addition, I would like the watch itself to be modern and functional (this is important to him), I thought about Samsung watch 6 classic, Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Looking to upgrade my Samsung Watch Active 2

I'm not really interested in health features more than it can be fun to see how many steps I take at work. I've been looking at Samsung Watch 6 and the Classic, as I understand the maim difference is the sizes and the Classic has a bezel you can navigate with.

And it looks like the non Classic is mostly like my Active 2, but I wanted to check here if someone has tried both and if the bezel is worth it in a style and functional way?

Need to Upgrade my Old Smartwatch and looking for recommendations

I got the very first Galaxy Watch with Tizen. The is is outdated and should be going out of circulation soon so I might as well look for a new Watch.

Should I go for the latest Galaxy Watch since I'm a Samsung Galaxy user as well, should I go for an expensive Garmin that has great battery life and gps usage, and tracks activities better. Is there something else?

I'm overwhelmed and look for feedback, please advise.
