A subreddit about the LG Watch Urbane smartwatch

I have a working Urbane available for free, with a charging cradle, which is a little sensitive (sometimes needs pressure).
I'm happy to ship anywhere, if someone can still use it.
I switched to iWatch/iPhone in last six months for a variety of reasons.
I bought a refurbished urbane first gen about a year ago. Over all I love it. Not a very tech savvy guy so it ticks all the boxes I need. Now to my sad little problem. My watch while charging tried a software update. Then froze. (Not sure if this is relevant) so I long pressed the home button and restarted it. Now there are about eight little red? Dots on the screen in the lower left. I wonder what the cause may be and if it can be fixed. To any and all that may reply with regards to this old beautiful watch thanks in advance!!!!
so uhm yea, after flashing asteroid OS and it not being able to boot into recovery or the os while off the puck (once in the os it was fine, no real progress on a recovery boot till i flashed skin1980 on xda's urbane n-recovery . now no matter what build i flash (that successfully flashes). earlier today it got down to 95% on the latest official(i believe) OTA update. i forget what stock source i originally got it from on xda. i couldn't get any of the ext-4 stuff to flash either.
edit:it's not a battery issue. stays on all day in either the n-recovery or fastboot twrp lasts awhile too
I just picked up a new LG gold Urbane to add to my collection. Super excited. This was my first smartwatch ever. It pretty much started my addiction to wearable tech, and smartwatches.
I have done everything and exhausted every effort I can think of to get the wear is app to find my LG Urbane smartwatch. I am using a Galaxy a20 phone and have no problem connecting and pairing with Bluetooth. Just Everytime I try an run the wear os app it shows up nothing in the "list". What can I do? Please help.
So long story short I'm fixing a LG Watch Urbane (bass) watch that somehow the OS was wiped on. I managed to get AstroidOS on it using fastboot so if there is a .fastboot for WearOS 2 or a recovery/rom (we got twrp working) for the LG Watch Urbane that someone could link me too that would be awesome!
Thanks in advance.
Here's the link I used to get AstroidOS to work: https://asteroidos.org/install/bass/
Over 3 years and now it has been shutting down the past few days with 50% + charge and today will not boot up...lg screen shows up and then goes dark. I tried disconnecting from my watch just before this state and wiping it and it just will cycle the LG screen on and off while on the charger. If I take it off the charger I can bring up the LG logo by pressing the button but it then goes dark, no boot up. I'll again leave it on the charger, but maybe the battery is done for.
I have an LG Urbane and I had to reset it recently. I also got a new phone (Galaxy S9) and I can't seem to get notifications that new texts have come into Message+. I look in the Play Store on the watch but can't seem to locate it. Search results have been less than helpful (broken links, etc.). Any guidance?
Please help me.
Within like 30 minutes, my battery dropped from 100% to 85%.
I am running Watchmaker for the face. I have it on with Always On Display, but dimmed out. I only have notifications for texts.
I don't have it light up with my wrist gestures.
(I did notice sometimes that the second hand was moving, as if the watch wasn't hibernating.)
I am connected to my phone and Wi-Fi.
I don't wear my watch that often. Sometimes, after turning it on, I download updates (which can take a while, when they download) and the battery drops like a rock.
After the downloads complete, I fully charge it, turn it back on, nd the battery drains normally.
Any ideas?
Should I download the app updates while charging?
Hello people, happy new year!
I have an LG Urbane 2 which I got about 14 months ago. Second hand, previous owner wasn't using it. Lately I was having some weird battery issues, for example sudden drain after falling below 50% charge. I had the bad habit of plugging it in every time (even at 60%) to keep it fully charged, so I assumed battery calibration was off.
So I decided to do a couple of discharge/fully charge cycles to fix that.
Now the weird part... while attempting to totally discharge it last night, battery went from 5% to 4% to 3%... and then to 4% again! Without it being nowhere near the charger.
I let it completely drain, fully charged it, and removed it from the charger about 10m after hitting 100%.
Again, it decided to troll me. At first, battery went from 100% to 82% fairly quickly, in ~2 hours. Then, for a few minutes it was going from 80% to 81% then back to 80% then back to 81%. Then it went to 82% and stayed there. It's been one hour since that and it still hasn't dropped.
I can only suppose that
a) the battery is completely borked or, b) it was way miscalibrated and it's slowly getting
First case is self-explanatory. For the second one, I assume that what I'm seeing is the result of the complete drain/charge cycle: The battery is slowly getting back on track. I might need one more discharge but eventually it will sort out: although I will still get less uptime compared to a new battery, I will at least get more accurate readings and better uptime than before calibrating.
Any other ideas on what the actual hell is happening? And any way to fix it?
Anyone know of any viable alternative OS for wear devices?
It feels warm, so it seems like contact is made, but I never seem to get a charge. The watch is probably 3 years old.
My band is almost cracked in two. Any tips on new bands? Having trouble finding them on Amazon or eBay. I don't use the LTE functions do a normal band would work.
Hi there everyone. I recently just bought a Amazon Certified Refurbished LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition and I cant seem to get it to update to Android Wear 2.0
I have a SIM in it and it is connected to Verizon servers but every time I go to the settings and look for an update it says I am up to date, but I am not because I am in AW 1.5
It is a waiting game? Because I have only had this watch for 20 hours and a SIM in it for 16 hours. Am I just waiting for verizon to push the update? or am I out of luck?
I know I can sideload the update, but I worry about bricking the watch after only having it for less than 24 hours.
Any information will help me out greatly.
Thanks
UPDATE I have factory reset the watch just in case it needed to see the SIM Card in there to push the OTA after a factory reset, and I still cant update to 2.0, and looked into sideloading the update, and I cant do it, its feels like its getting into coding, and I suck at coding, so i dont trust myself to sideload.
.
What are the best watch faces on the Urbane for Wear 2.0?
I've started tracking some morning walking with Google Fit on my watch, but when I look at the phone version of fit or the web site, it doesn't show any recent data or activity at all.
PM me.
currently on Android wear 2
i already tried a factory reset and looked for it on the play store but I can't find it anymore. do you guys know the name for it on the watch play store?
I got this watch yesterday and put my Straight Talk SIM in it. It has an LTE connection and the data works fine but when I try to send a message I just get "Not sent. Tap to try again." Does this watch work with Straight Talk? Is there some setting I should check? Thanks.
Edit: I found a setting called 'AT&T Number Sync.' It looks like it wants me to have a SIM in both my phone and watch? That or it will only work with AT&T.
Is there any way to disable ok Google being triggered by long pressing the button?
I keep activating it when I lean on a desk or table with the back of my hand!
Hi, how can I downgrade from 2.0 to 1.5, does somebody knows? Watch is useless now, it doesn't even vibrate when I have a phone call! Lost so many, also notifications are a hit or miss sometimes they show but sometimes they dont :(
It use to work so perfect, I was in love, now I left it at the house some days I don't return for it if im already in the car lol
Please, help!
Watch is rooted, so I'll take root methods, customs ROMs, anything. I just want to be able to use the physical button to enable theater mode. Double press, long press, I don't give a shit as long as it's not morse code.
After recent major software update, my trusty watch no longer responds to OK Google voice commands. I used to use it all the time to initiate texts and get driving directions. I looked around, but don't see any similar reports. I have watch linked to Verizon Galaxy S7 Edge.
I can get an Urbane 2 or Moto 360 V2 for $189. Both are refurbished wondering which one I should get.
Most of us have probably had the update for close to a month. Personally, I hate it. Notifications look terrible or you have to tap to even get the full notification, or swipe to see if you have a notification. Battery life is inconsistent day-to-day and ridiculous (battery actually died on me after about 12 hours the other day).
What am I missing? Nothing improved and a whole lot went bad.
EDIT: Didn't mean this to be a gripe thread. I hoped someone had some positive improvements they've noticed or some tips on helpful settings. But if there's nothing good... So it goes.
