Has anyone here had the chance of majoring in History or the Humanities at Yale? If so could you elaborate on your experiences :)
I have submitted the yale css fee waiver portal a week ago but still hasnt recieved a message from them. Am I missing something?
i mean, how much should an average yale student should study, or do y'all often feel overwhelmed by the work they give you?
I lost my water bottle while riding the orange line. Is there a way I could get it back? I have been calling the Yale shuttle helpline but it’s always busy. Help please.
hello, co28 here! i am a prospective global affairs major, deciding between economics and polisci as well as they are all interesting to me. most of the classes i have / am taking in my first year coincidentally lean towards the global affairs major, maybe suggesting that it is the natural path for me. however, i've been looking into the experiences of those who majored in it in the past, and many mentioned having regrets about choosing it. i do know that global affairs is relatively less known as a major in general, and that no one really knows its competitive outside of yale. i have also heard that the courses have a very quantitative focus, where situations are reduced to numbers in weirdly unrealistic ways. how would it be an advantageous major for jobs if that is the case? and what are other regrets people have? what should i consider when deciding between the three?
It was fun doing these two videos since I had never attended the game. Also, I wanted people with no ties to Harvard or Yale to get a sense of what the game is like.
I did not know that it's such a major event!
For the purposes of full disclosure, I'm a Yale alum (graduate school).
Hi!
I had some time off from high school this weekend and wanted to spend it studying Yale's Game Theory 159 course. Although the YouTube videos work, Yale's link to "Download all course pages [zip - 10MB]" on the course website doesn't. Would anybody whose taken the course be willing to share course materials / the PSET questions? I intend to try emailing Yale / Dr. Ben Polak (the professor) next.
[EDIT: Trying to download materials for ASTR 160 and BENG 100 doesn't work either.]
I’ve been coming onto campus recently to do some studying on campus. I’m college age, just don’t attend the school as I have my degrees elsewhere. If I stay in the sterling memorial library an hour after it closes to the public to finish up my dissertation, will I be ID’d on the way out? Or would I be able to stay a little later and get by with it? I’m no bother to other students. It’s just my ride home doesn’t get off work until 7:30 and there’s no where else for me to go on campus lol
Do you have any advice for international students during Thanksgiving? Most of my friends go home, and campus feels quite lonely during the holiday.
I have a hard semester and need an 0.5 or 1 extra credit for the spring. Anyone know courses with majority As and low coursework? Checked CourseTable but asking for others’ opinions.

I hate my current school and would like to transfer to Yale or Princeton or something, but if I’m gonna pay for it I’d like to make sure it’s worth it.
The problem with my school is the curriculum; everything is just a pseudo-completion grade, and entirely devoid of any independent thought.
For example, in my speech class every speech has to adhere to an extremely specific (and profoundly uninteresting) outline, so all I’m allowed to do is come up with a topic and fill in the blanks.
My psychology textbook will just list out very obvious definitions of words and phrases, like “reinforcement is a consequence of a behavior that increases the likelihood of that behavior being repeated.” And then the test question will say “which of these defines reinforcement?”
And obviously this is all extremely easy and a colossal waste of time. Anyone could guess the answers to all of these questions because the names of psychology terms describe what they mean.
Anyway, is that just what school is like, or is the curriculum at Yale actually challenging and interesting? I hate it here. I just want to learn.
Psychology major btw.
I'll be in NYC tomorrow and don't want to miss the HY game. Do you think any bars will be playing it, preferrably (but not necessarily) around midtown?
I'm a Yale staff member so I don't believe I can attend a watch party at, say, the NYC Yale Club.
Or if you have a subreddit you think I should ask (not r/nyc-- it'll probably get buried), lmk!
My daughter just received an invitation to interview with a class of 2012 alumnus. Any tips?
$95. Yale student section. DM if interested.
One of my professors assigned a take home exam from this Thursday to Sunday (she extended it to Monday). Is this allowed?

Hi Everyone - Starting on Saturday, I'm going to be staying in New Haven (near the Old Yale Campus) for a week. I'll be busy with work on campus for most of the time, but am looking for recommendations for what to do in my downtime - hidden gem restaurants and bars, nice places to hike / run, interesting shops, where to go for a bit of light socializing after a day of work on my own, etc. I'm a professional male in my early 50s, so bear that in mind (ie. no arcades, Taylor Swift fanclubs or trendy nightclubs, etc). Anyway, thanks for whatever recommendations you can offer. This is my first time visiting the area, and figured that getting some pointers from locals would be useful. Feel free to respond here or DM me - either way is fine.
Are there any official watch parties here?
Hey! I’m a Yale College student and was wondering how I can view my admissions file? I’ve looked at the different resources Yale has online and I can’t seem to find a way to request it.
Many thanks!
No course requirements! Just looking for the best most life-changing and thought provoking elective course you’ve taken at Yale
dm with your offer!
Had a friend that used to help me out but is now graduated. Can pay, please DM.
Its egc.yale.edu I've been trying for 2 days, and it's always 502 Bad Gateway.
