I like making, building, and doing. I have the time now so I'm hoping there is a space for this somewhere local.
I’m new to the fort Myers FL area and would like to meet some new fishing buddies/friends. Hit me up if interested.
The Lee County BOCC voted today 4-1 in favor of passing a resolution opposing proposed FL Constitutional Amendment 4.
Tons of anti-abortion propaganda were out in full force, and a lot of religious ideologies were used to justify this resolution.
While the resolution does not take any official action, it does send a message that Lee County opposes abortion rights. Also, something not considered is the chilling effect this may have. People won’t fully understand what this resolution means, and may think that their vote on Amendment 4 won’t count.
Please spread the word and try to get as many people as you can to support Amendment 4.

It's been a long time since I've even thought about the game, and sadly I lost, simply from remembering the game I've lost again, the game was simple, you don't think about the game and you win, but once you think about it, you loose. It's really simple, that's all there is to it. So if like to apologize as I point out by reading this... You've lost the game. Thanks for playing. XD
Hi Swfl,
I have been going through a difficult time lately. Fishing is a passion and hobby that generally cheers me up. Is there anyone willing to grant access to slips, docks, marinas? I'm out of work at the moment but would not mind paying a one time fee for annual use renewed annually when I can eventually if it is not outlandish. I'd be so very grateful. Thank you in advance.
P.s.:
I have no criminal record and have been a native since 1999.
So many of the areas I have been fishing are extremely pressured and over fished. I have resorted to bass fishing but most ponds or lakes don't allow for the public to fish.
In addition I will respect your property and will not leave trash. Just really need a reason to smile lately.
Anyone want to hangout this weekend?

Hey everyone!
I recently met a great girl down here in SWFL and I’m planning to take her out on a date. Even though I’ve spent years in FL, I’m realizing that I don’t have a solid list of go-to spots for a memorable date. So, I’m turning to you all for some fun recommendations!
Here’s what I’m considering so far:
• Cozy Cafés: Any suggestions for cafés that are not only charming but also located in areas that are great for a nice walk afterward? Bonus points if it’s a hidden gem!
• Unique Restaurants: I’m open to all kinds of cuisine, but I’m really looking for those hidden gem restaurants that she might not have discovered yet. Any place that offers a unique experience or atmosphere would be perfect.
• Outdoor Activities: We’re both into the outdoors, so if you know of any great spots for hiking, walking, canoeing, or just fun outdoor activities, I’d love to hear them!
Looking forward to your suggestions! Thanks in advance!
Good morning, good afternoon, good evening.
We are officially opening on Thursday August 29th at 11AM. We’ll close at 8PM probably.
Take out only, but a few chairs and tables are available if y’all want to sit down for a bit.
Very limited to no dim sum as of now because we don’t have a steam table yet. But go ahead and ask, we might have some stuff.
Location: 8024 Alico Rd, Fort Myers, FL 33912
I’m trying to line up some cool camping spots for the “fall”, but so far all the ones I’ve found are not dog friendly. In a perfect world it would be a more primitive site requiring a little hike or a kayak to get to but I’m open to car access sites as well (would prob crash in my car in that case anyway)
Anyone have any good spots for someone just trying to get away from the sound of people? West coast preferred, I’m in fort myers

I hear Busch gardens is closing permanently. I searched it and they are shutting down a 43yr old coaster. What the word?
As a non-profit wildlife hospital and rehabilitation facility we do fun-raisers to raise funds to cover the costs associated with the care and feeding of our wild patients. I am hoping that our amazing community can help us spread the word about this 50/50 raffle. Each ticket is 10 chances to win $2,500!

I present the Punta Gorda Frog Hole!
Over on the east coast of FL in Jupiter and Fort Pierce there is a place called The Square Grouper which is a 21+ outdoor tiki bar with tables on sand and right on the water. I’m living in SWFL now (Fort Myers) and looking for a similar place. Bonus points if it’s 21+, has cheapish drinks, and has some kind of food cause I do love to eat a basket of fries when day drinking.

Is there anyone you'd recommend in the area for TMD treatment? I'd love to hear any success stories of yours or someone you know.
Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening. Today I bring to y’all updates on the restaurant.
We are waiting on inspections of all kinds. Fire, food, health, etc. If all goes well, we’ll be opening around the last week of August or first week of September.
We still got some cleaning and renovations to do to fix the problems the previous owners left, but other than that everything is going well.
We will be take out only, but we’ll probably have a table or two. Also Dim Sum will still be on the menu, just not right away. We don’t have a steam table yet.
Will be back with an official opening date soon hopefully 🫡
Looking for a photographer for a surprise proposal at the end of the Month. Not positive of the location but likely on the beach. Looking for someone with some photography experience to take a few shots from a distance and maybe a few post proposal (30-45 minutes total). The few photographers I spoke with already do this as full time jobs and wanted to charge $600+. Looking to be a little more budget conscious. It’s our first time in Marco Island, we will be at the JW Marriott, so if you have any ideas feel free to send them my way!
Anyone have recs for reliable handyman/home repair service in Charlotte County that does good work and doesn't have a mile long waiting list? My dad's an experienced handyman who used to do it all but medical issues have him sidelined for a bit. I'm here to help out but have reached the end of my abilities (and both of our patience lol).
There's nothing that needs a licensed pro so far, just a few small to medium projects that need finished and some upkeep that's been sliding. Though I wouldn't say no if you have electrician/plumbing recs, too! Their HVAC guy is great, but thankfully we haven't needed to call anyone else, knock on wood.
I've been fortunate enough to rely on word of mouth from friends and coworkers at home, but with no other family in the immediate area, I don't have anyone to ask or trust for recommendations here. Thanks so much!
Hi everyone,
I’m 27M and just got to Bonita Springs. I’m here for a week visiting family and would love help finding some things to do. I know it’s August so there’s only so much I can do during the day with the heat. My plan is early morning fishing until 10 or 11am. But aside from that I’m looking for things I can do alone. Mainly where I can meet people and hang out whether it’s a bar or something nightlife related. Looking for anything between North Naples and downtown Fort Myers.
Thanks for your help !
