Hello everyone! I’ve posted on other subreddits but I figure I would try this one.
I work for Creative Consumer Research which is a market research company based out of Houston, Texas. We handle the marketing, advertising, and recruiting of potential respondents to try out new products or material. Some of the Fortune 500 companies that we work with are Minute Maid, Huggies, Estee Lauder, Modelo, Bud light, and many others. Feel free to check us out at ccrsurveys.com
We have an In-Home Makeup study in Miami, Florida, where we are looking for a 18-28 Gen Z female. This would be 12/5/24 (Thursday). It will pay $200 for a two-hour study. The point of discussion for this study is to talk about makeup, consumer habits, and the use of beauty subscriptions like (IPSY, Birch box, etc.) If you are interested, please message me on here and I can answer any other questions
Thank you!
Is okay to bring toddlers to beat culture or is that frowned upon?
Hi, I’m graduating with my bachelors in marine biology in 2 weeks. I’m from Virginia and would really love to move to Miami. I’ve been a waitress for years. Any advice on how to get down there? How is the job market for things marine related?
Would be the first time i rent a condo but Is it typical for move in costs to include two security deposits? Thought the standard was first, last, and a security deposit but apparently the landlord and the building each want a security deposit amounting to 4 months rent to move in which is wildly absurd to me. Is this the norm or them just trying to pull a fast one?
I am looking at purchasing a house in Miami Dade that is on AG zoned land. There is language in the legislation that restricts development to plots of 5 Acres or more. This existing home is on a 1.1 acre lot. Clearly homes in the area have recently been redeveloped into larger single family homes. If anyone is familiar with the zoning laws and would be willing to chime in it would be appreciated.
Hi guys! I'm going to be visiting Miami for Art Basel this weekend. We have a train leaving early from the Brightline station and need to be back by 7 am Sunday. Is there any decent places within walking distance of the train station open at 6am on a Sunday? Thank you so much for any help!
This is a megathread for all tourism, nightlife, and moving related questions. Please read this before posting on the main thread!
Now here's a message from us mods and locals.
Welcome visitors and newcomers to r/Miami! Regardless of why you're here please try to be civil and follow the rules posted in this sub. Rule number 1 is the top for a reason. This sub is for things all about Miami. That being said we're fully aware that this city is very popular for tourists and newcomers migrating. It's a vibrant and dynamic place and that's why we love it! Even for all the shortcomings.
We're just tired. Oh so tired... of similar or repeat questions about where to go, where to live, the best clubs, directions to Key West, etc. endlessly on this sub. Sorry. It's not you it's us.
So please we do ask that local discussion be allowed to be the focus of this sub. If you fall into one of the categorized questions below, please look there for insight or to post your question here. It is not a guarantee your questions will be answered, no one is paid to help here and you're not necessarily owed a response either. But this is a place to start with a collection of a lot of effort to get the best info
If someone asked me if I would rather shit bricks for a week straight or drive through Miami again, I’d be hovering over the toilet the second they asked. Salute to all locals out there, what a struggle.
Does anyone know of a good tailor for pants that is relatively quick? Thank you!!
Hey all,
I currently work in the healthcare space as a Product Owner for a telehealth company with about one year experience, I'm looking to get a job in a local hospital on the tech side since that has always been my end goal.
Does anybody have any advice as to how to network with people in the space? Most conferences offered by Baptist are for physicians/healthcare professionals as opposed to people looking to work on the more administrative/tech side, I know that Miami is big on connections but I don't know where to start to meet people in the space.
I would appreciate any advice, thank you.
Anyone know where I can buy masa preparada to make tamales? Willing to drive lol
I'm going to be visiting Miami in about a week and will be there for about a week. My friend who lives in Fort Lauderdale brought up the idea of doing some Miami Vice themed stuff because we're both fans. I know I know, it's like visiting Texas because you liked that show Dallas. But I'm not here to discuss the enticement of tourist activities based on '80s network television.
What I am curious about is if there's a range that'll rent something exotic-ish like an Uzi for an hour or so. A quick google search led me to Lock & Load, but apparently they're closed for maintenance and have been for a bit.
Any recommendations for any other ranges that rent out fully automatic or burst fire? I'm a big dumb entitled cowboy wannabe from Texas, so I'm preferably looking for something beyond the standard rifle/shotgun/pistol range.
Apologies if this is not the right subreddit or if this post isn't tagged with the appropriate flair.
Hey guys,
I recently moved back to the States/the U.S after living abroad for 5 years. Recently made a friend (who was also born/raised abroad) that moved to Miami roughly at the same time.
Basically, they want to experience Art Week/Art Basel, as it would be their first time. I've done my research as I did very little during Art Basel week when I lived here in Miami, so I don't really know what to expect.
It seems that from browsing the sub (and researching other sites), it seems that the traffic, especially in Miami Beach, can be a nightmare. My fear is buying tickets to Art Basel (for the weekend), and having most of the day be about finding parking, waiting in line, and being stuck in traffic (amongst other inconveniences). Is it actually worth it in 2024 (I know it has deteriorated)?
I saw that the team at Basel Time compiled a cool list of events happening in the Miami Design District. Would spending some time at the district be a more relaxed day/experience for us in terms of crowds/parking? They seem to have some cool museums and art exhibits happening this week, but I've never been.
If not, what are some chiller alternatives for enjoying Art Week (besides staying home, lol)?
Any thoughts about this from you guys?
I got pulled over going 95mph in a 70mph on I-75/Alligator Ally! Zero previous tickets or any charges whatsoever...
I was thinking about using Ticket Clinic, but after reading lots of other threads, it seems like my best bet would to just be take the 4 hour driving school and appear in court myself....and when I do show up in court, am I just pleading no contest and telling the judge that I already took the course?
Anyone agree/disagree? Ultimately I'm looking for the best advice to NOT get points on my license and avoid an increase to my insurance! (advice other than DONT SPEED* lol)
Thanks in advance!
I'm thinking at LEAST 40 more y'all. There needs to be a place to buy $45 pasta on every corner.
Maybe another 30 Neapolitan style pizza parlors? I can't be the only one thinking this
I've been South Florida, mainly Miami Dade County my entire life and I can't, for the life of me, figure out why every time you try to switch lanes, the driver in the lane you're switching to will speed up. This especially happens on the 826. They see that turn signal turn on and they accelerate from 65 to 90.
Ive (25F) lived in Miami my whole life, and somehow I’ve always found it difficult to make long lasting friendships here in Miami. I am a pretty social gal, but I don’t know why I struggle meeting other women. If I do meet them, they’re always temporary friendships. To make matters worse, I feel like it’s incredibly difficult to meet people in your 20s. It’s either through friends of friends or work (which I’ve learned most work friends shouldn’t be close friends).
Does anyone else have this issue? Any advice on how to meet more people?
I have an overnight layover in MIA. My flight lands at 11:30PM.
I want to go to Factory Town but I'll have no where to keep my backpack.
Does Factory Town have a coat check where I could check my backpack?
The airport has luggage storage but it closes at 9PM so that doesn't work for me.
"Bounce" luggage storage has a facility nearby at Miami One Rent A Car, but they just cancelled my reservation because they said "Miami One Rent A Car is now closed."
Any help would be greatly appreciated <3
Is it normal to pay $230 in sewer fee monthly at your building?
I live on South Beach in a very nice building around 10th street.
The building is one of the best here; but this fee sounds abnormal to me…
Last time i asked management they said thats the fee, i asked couple neighbors everybody seem to be paying different amount. I have 2b &2b.
P.S not my first building on miami beach i used to leave on the building next to this one and i paid $50 in sewer monthly. i am renting the apartment from a association and everything is through website when it comes to payments ( smart rent )
Let me know ur thoughts
Hey Miamirinos, I have a 2005 Subaru Outback that has a gremlin in the transmission. It’s my daily driver, so the situation is not great. Given that Subarus are becoming more common down here (I got mine 7.5 years ago and could count on one hand the number of others I’d see in a day, not so much anymore) I thought I’d ask if any of you have a Subie (or transmission in general) guy or girl you’d recommend for competence and, ideally, cost efficiency. I’m really lucky to have a Dad who has fixed almost everything in our cars for basically my whole life, but, by 2005, a whole lot of computing and sensors were going into transmission systems and we’re not having much (ok, any) success in tracking this issue down… can’t keep throwing parts at it hoping something will work.
Any advice is appreciated!
