Recently got approved to take an e permit at hunter college for their biochem lecture course. However, I mistakenly applied for it thinking that I had the course that they needed as a pre requisite but soon realized that I didn’t and they have not allowed me to register. Is there a way I can modify my host college or would I have to go through the whole process of submitting a new e permit to another college?
Hey guys, I applied to CCNY on i believe December 1st. Does anyone know when they’re going to get back to me? I just want to know if it’s going to be before school starts in january 😣
How come this fall semester we can’t drop a class at the last day of class I thought it was usually like that throughout the semester? I checked the academic calendar and it says last day to drop a class is on November 6 instead of December 11?
i've been sick for about two weeks and haven't been able to go to campus for classes. i go to school in bmcc and i live in new jersey, so an hour n a half commute is pretty impossible for me right now. i've been completely bedridden for two weeks. my teachers have given me the go-ahead to do an incomplete and do whatever the process is with that, but if or when i feel able to go back to classes, say in like a week or so before the end of the semester, should i attend those last couple of classes or just focus on healing and do the work over the break since im under an inc?
Hey guys, I just recently applied to CCNY and I have a question about my transcript. I am at a community college right now, and obviously I need to send my transcript. My transcript right now only shows two grades from the classes I started in the summer, and then my classes i’m taking right now. The classes i’m taking right now obviously doesn’t have a grade yet because classes for me don’t end til the 21st. My question is - Do I send my transcript now? Or do I wait til the 21st so they have my fall course grades as well?
Hi guys
I currently attend City Tech and was thinking about transferring for Fall 2025 after earning my associate's degree in Computer Information Systems. However, City Tech now offers a new cybersecurity major, and I'm unsure whether I should stay or transfer to John Jay. Can someone tell me more about the Computer Science program at John Jay? Also, what are the professors like there?
Hey all,
I recently got into a pretty bad car accident and have been dealing with personal injuries (physical, mental + a lawsuit) and don’t think I’ll be able to finish the rest of the semester. I would like to withdraw from two of my classes only - as the other two are online. Does anyone have experience with this? if it possible to withdrawal from only two?
I currently go to TCNJ and i dorm here, but things have been really hard for me. The academics are good but i still feel very isolated and my roomate doesnt like me 💀. Campus life in general kinda overwhelmes me and it really stresses me out that theres no separation from school and personal life especially since i dont really have friends. I am a biology major and got into hunter as a transfer student but i live in staten island and the commute is minimum 1.5 hours each way. Do you guys think its worth it? Im dedicated to school but i think my home would be a better environment for me to live in (my parents disagree and think my problems will follow me). Please share ur experiences especially if you have a long commute or live in staten island!
I'm applying as a transfer to CCNY and Baruch. I sent my college transcript through parchment and received notification that it was downloaded on Nov. 30. Now its Dec. 4, but it still isn't showing up on my cunyFirst account. Is this normal for it to take this long to show up on my portal?
Have anyone ever met up a person here IRL?
I am asking the following for my partner as she doesn’t know what to do at this point. She applied to nursing program offered through QCC via a program offered by her hospital. She found out she isn’t moving forward with her application because of a failed English 101 class more than 14 years ago. She retook said class promptly after failing that class and got an A but her record/transcript showing that fail automatically removed her from consideration.
Is there anything she can do to expunge that record, it is crazy she is unable to move forward because of this even though she retook class and passed.
Reason she failed that class years ago is because she didn’t officially withdraw from it and simply stopped going thinking she did when discussing with her counselor.
Any CUNY department or office she can call to discuss as it’s holding her back tremendously?
Hello, I recently changed my major. However, I am worried that if I fail a class, I'll need to retake my new major, which doesn't involve anything related to it. i need some advice to stop the stress
I stopped attending this one class in September because he doesn’t do roll call. I simply just do all my work and turn everything in on time since all the material is online.
The problem is that he’s making the finals in person and I stopped showing up 3 months ago so I’m sure no one remembers my existence. Review for the exam is on the 10th and the final is on the 12th.
This semester has been...semestering. Dealing with family obligations, work, school assignments, finals, friends, daylight savings time, and extracurricular programs/events, hasn’t been easy. Yet, you're all doing it with grace. How to Enter Contest? Check out this post on our Instagram for more deets.
I’m mostly just confused as to whether I apply for that while applying to schools or after I’m accepted. Is it available at any CUNY?
Thank you!
Ever since covid i’ve been rlly bad at math. It’s just delayed me, I was good at math before it just I never payed attention in the zoom classes and then when I got into high school I knew nothing and so on. Now I’m a stem major whos math index is too low to take any classes in my degree works list. I’m taking the winter immersion program for mat 51 , but then I’ll have to wait for fall semester to take math 206.5, then math 206 the next semester after that. Am I screwed? Right now i’ve just resorted to making my schedule for next semester filled with interesting but ultimately unrelated classes like psychology and sociology to retain my full time student status and keep my aid but idk what to do. Am i doing the right thing? I feel like it’ll take a while until I can take the classes I need.
Hi, my first time posting and I was looking for some advice and maybe other people who took the exam!
Recently, I took the BMCC HESI exam to enter the program this coming January and I finished in 1hr 36mins. I got a total score of 94% for math, anatomy and reading comprehension (and a 970/1000 for critical thinking). However, my PCI GPA for the nursing prereqs is a 3.876 so my hesi score combined with my GPA would give me about a 95% and change for my final score. Is this score competitive enough?
I'm a bit nervous because one of the staff in the nursing office told me a majority of people admitted to the nursing program have a 4.0 and get 100% on the exam.
Thank you!
i was wondering what the dorming situation is like at CCNY? also, what dorms are there? if i get accepted, i’m planning on transferring for fall 2025. thank you in advance for those who reach out and help, i’ve never been to the city and live around 7-8 hours away. it’s all nerve wrecking to be honest
i'm transferring to cuny as an incoming sophomore in fall 2025 (currently a freshman at a different school), not sure how to send my transcripts. i've heard i email them to either admissions@cuny.edu or transcripts@cuny.edu and itll disperse them to each college but my school uses parchment? parchment says my only choice is to send my transcripts (both college and hs) to each individual college (i'm sending to three) and pay the $12 fee six times. what do i do?
recently got an email from hunter college about their honor's program, the email starting with "we started reviewing your application for the fall 2025 semester and noticed you have done quite well." has this happened to anyone here before, and did you get accepted into hunter after? maybe they're just joking idk guys
What was your gpa, hesi score, and CT?
I took my hesi today and I scored a 89.3333. My gpa is 3.9. My pci is 93/100. 90 on math, 92 on A&P, 86 on reading, Critical thinking 940/1000.
What are the odds I’ll get into the program? Do I need to start looking at other colleges?
Thank you so much. I feel like a failure for getting that Hesi score as I was aiming for a 92 above.
I applied for the day program.
Any advice will help.
I'm a freshmen undergrad who applied for the excelsior scholarship in August, and got an email this week saying I'm eligible,, the problem is that I just ALSO landed a seasonal job this week and I've already accepted both. The FAQ mentions that you have to contact them to let them know of any new employment but all the appointments are reserved till the end of this month.
Is there an email I'm supposed to contact? It's a minimum wage part-time job, so it's not like it'll actually affect my family's annual income but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Any kind of advice is appreciated.
I submitted my CUNY application already and am wondering when are applications actually looked at? I am taking a SAT soon and get my results around mid December. I haven’t sent any previous SAT scores to CUNY as of yet in case I am to get a better score on my upcoming SAT (I am aware CUNY is test optional) I just want to make sure whoever is reviewing my application does see my SAT score.
Anyone have issues with CLEP sending their transcript to CUNY central and not the actual school listed?
How did you resolve it? Need a specific CLEP class transferred in.
Hi! I'm almost 21 and i live out of state, I was thinking about going to CUNY City Colle for my master's and bachelor's. Should I? Would you all recommend it? Is it easy to make friends?
Any cheap student housing in a nicer area for John jay students I was looking at the New Yorker but it’s too expensive considering I live in Long Island. Plz send any recommendations
