Hey everyone,

I’m currently planning to complete the nursing prerequisites at BMCC with the goal of applying to their RN program. However, I know their program is highly competitive, and I want to increase my chances of getting into a nursing school as soon as possible.

Does anyone know if all the BMCC nursing prerequisites transfer seamlessly to other CUNY nursing programs (like LaGuardia, Kingsborough, etc.)? If BMCC rejects me, would I be able to apply to other CUNY nursing schools right away without retaking anything?

Basically, I want to know if I can apply to multiple CUNY nursing programs at once and start wherever I get accepted. If anyone has done this or knows how it works, I’d really appreciate your insight!

I go to Hunter but live by Baruch and want to try out their library. I’ve heard we’re able to enter any CUNY schools, so do I just tap my CUNY ID and go in or have to go through security? Also is Baruch strict on letting any CUNY student inside?

Soooo I emailed the cuny admissions email 4 weeks ago for them to add a college to my transfer application. I never heard back. I emailed three more times. Tried calling the number but im never free during the open hours 9am-12pm. Not even it’s past the deadline. I was thinking of emailing the college I wanted to add directly telling them my situation and if they can do it from there end. Btw idk if this info is important but im trying to transfer to city tech for entertainment tech.

For some reason it was not letting me pay for my application and now it says that it is waived. What is going on?

So I basically signed up for a asynchronous class and it’s been a week since the semester started and my professor hasn’t even unlocked the course on blackboard? I tried emailing her but it said address not found even though I emailed her through her school email… what should I do? btw i go to brooklyn college if that helps?

I don’t want to publicly say what college I’m in but I got academically dismissed but I only have to wait one semester before returning. My gpa is pretty close to what it needs to be as an advisor told me I only needed 2 B’s to be taken off academic probation completely. My school claims it takes the grading policy serious which is why my e-petition may be declined, but anyone else been in this situation and could tell me what they did ?

Since the start of my college experience, I’ve had both TAP and FAFSA. This semester I was awarded the ACE SCHOLARSHIP that pays for my tuition. Before accepting the award I reached out to my financial aid office and the scholarship office and asked them how this scholarship would affect my aid. They told me that my FAFSA would be fine but I will not be receiving my TAP, which I was fine with. I sent out 5 emails just to make sure ONLY my TAP would be removed and every time they confirmed it. I was happy about it because that meant I was able to build my resume with the mentee opportunity and skills while still being able to take home a refund check. Guys I’m really poor and the job market is horrible and I’m graduating this semester so I need this money. Well when I looked on cuny first, my balance went down about $698. I’m confused because the scholarship is paying for my whole tuition balance. 3 classes to be exact. I thought it was gonna come to me and not my tuition. What should I do? In return of getting the scholarship I’m a mentor to 4 mentees that’s on academic probation. I’m doing this while taking my capstone class and I would hate for it to turn out that I was doing this for free. Also they didn’t remove TAP from my accepted awards. Any advice?

I’m still waiting for Baruch, but got decisions from 5 other schools. (I applied in October)

My counselor says he sent them in on the 8th of Jan, and i’m just wondering how long it would take for the “received date” to update.

I’m confused, first time I see the Book Advance Charge show up like this. It’s usually just the amount under CHARGE and then 2-3 days later it’s moved to REFUND.

And I’m not going to contact Fin Aid or Bursar about this. Fin Aid tells me to contact Bursar and BURSAR NEVER RESPONDS TO ANY OF MY EMAILS OR RETURNS MY CALLS!

Hello, I'm a freshman at citytech. I took BIO-1101 for spring-2025. I'm confused about how to prepare for class tests and lab. Do I read the provided book or read the slides made by the professor which he reads during class. The slides are parts from that book and the exact same. He didn't say anything about providing study guides. Lab tests are mcq but haven't received any notes and unsure if we will. Thank you.

Has anyone received their 1098-T yet? Was told it was by the 31st of Jan but still nothing.

As a comp student, when should I start looking into internships? I see some places say your junior year or senior but some people say you can even land one as a sophomore. If you landed one before any advice?

Has anyone heard anything from the program since the interviews? I’m a little concerned if they have been sending stuff out and i’ve been missing it since there was an issue where they had an email on file that I didn’t have access to. It kinda just seems like the whole thing has gone silent. Has anyone received any emails about it?

So I was out of school for nearly 6 years, only did 1 semester at KBCC only took 7 credits, dropped out in the middle and failed all of the classes (never dropped the classes). And therefore had a terrible GPA.

Now I just got notification from BMCC when I called them that I will get accepted and they will give me a brand new transcript that will be unaffected by KBCC. My question is, say I maintain a high 3.8-4.0 GPA, will the BMCC nursing school look at my transcript from 6 years ago, see the 0.00 GPA and say "Nope" or am i overthinking?

I'm gonna confirm on Monday, but I'm extremely anxious right now and I'm trying to change my life/careers and this is very sensitive for me.

Can I not create a CUNYfirst account until Ive (hopefully) been accepted? It says online that I’m supposed to track my application thru the CF portal.

hey y'all, i don't know what to do at this point so i have a important internship meeting that is on 2/14 and it's mandatory for me to attend otherwise there will be consquences for me to not make it since i missed the 1st one back in december due to an event at my high school which was also important for me to attend and this meeting is online from 10-12 PM which i have class during those times and there is a quiz that i can't miss or anything because my professor is strict on missing it and haven't told any of them about my situation, well she isn't really a professor she's a student teacher with a discussion section of what we learned in the lecture on the day we meet with the other professor on mondays for example i have set up an appointment with my advisor and see what she can do to advise me what to do since this internship is important for me since i'm not sure when they meet it just depends on the day and month itself (sorry just panicking and don't want to miss a chance or be removed from the internship itself) 😭😭

my TAP spring and TAP spring waiver still say estimated and Non disbursing, is anyone else having this problem as well?? i emailed my financial aid office but i go to brooklyn n they suck -.- they respond super late. just wanted to see if anyone else is seeing this too!

I sent an email to everyone in my class but its not sending to their myhunter.cuny, its sending to login.cuny so its resulting in no one joining. My class has like 70 students so I really don’t want to type out the email address for each person. Is there a different way? On blackboard it would actually send correctly, I hate brightspace sm 😭

So I'm a grad student and was awarded TAP for the 24-25 school year and I had my Fall TAP disappear. HESC told me my school deemed me ineligible even though I maintained above a 3.5 GPA and took enough credits to be considered a full time graduate student. I think this might be because HESC requires students to take 12 credits minimum as a full time student to be eligible for TAP, but my school has students take 9 credits per semester. Has anyone else gone through something like this?
