if i want to withdraw/drop a class from fall semester, all i’d have to do is go to schedule builder and drop it from there right? and get that schedule with the dropped class?
and that will automatically get me out of class without having to worry about my brightspace, attendance, etc or do i have to do anything else?
Hi guys. What are some good CUNY schools for nursing.. Kings borough, BMCC and Medgar Evers College .. Honestly I’m leaning towards Medgar Evers college because it’s close to me so if anyone has any info that might be helpful please feel free to share. Thnx
How's SCN 195 Community Health? Do you recommend taking it together with A&P? How intense is the writing? Which professor should I get???
Are there any advantages to Macaulay Honors? Kid is only looking to apply to CCNY and Hunter.
I am interested in taking this course during the January term at CSI (CUNY Staten Island). How are the class, exams, assignments, and the Professor? Any tips, thoughts, or things to know about the class and the Professor?
I applied to Lehman for the health ed program
Hi all,
I'm interested in doing a career switch to Rad Tech. I'm 26 years old and I have a BA degree in computer science from Hunter College. I've worked in the tech field for 4-5 years but I'm so burnt out from the volatility and constant change. I never really liked coding; I did it because I didn't know what I wanted to do and ended up staying because it paid well. Now I have a little bit of savings I would like to make a switch.
From research I've decided between City Tech versus Hostos CC for Rad tech, they seem to be a good program for a 2-year associate degree.
I heard City Tech is super competitive and GPA orientated but it's closer to where I live (Lower Brooklyn). For Hostos, it's less GPA straining? But it's far from where I live so I would have to commute far because it requires 8 am-5 pm.
My GPA back in Hunter was 3.7 with my major GPA 3.5. So I have had good GPAs while in Hunter but I don't think my ability now to achieve a high GPA is as great as I was before.
For prerequisite, I think I have English and Math all set because I have a BA degree in CS with a minor in Math and Statistics.
But I'm worried about Biology and A&P. I never took Biology or Chemistry in college. So my knowledge of these subjects is nonexistent.
That's why I'm torn between these two college. I'm open to other colleges except private schools.
I am also interested in Sonograph but worried about muscular pain long term.
Im currently enrolled in the computer science major in medgar evers, but i got accepted to york college and several other schoos for spring 2025.
At medgar pretty much love it despite it being an hour ride from the city, and despite discrete structures class kicking my butt.
Would it be a good idea to transfer out to york?
My plan was to do a couple of semesters at medgar to raise my gpa, then transfer out.
I checked out york’s courses for computer science and i do like alot of then, but they are more focused on a certain field like cybersecurity and informatics when im more interested in the software developing aspect for. I do have an interest in bioinformatics but there isnt many schools offering it as a bachelors.
How was your experience and do you any recommendations for A&P professors
Hey everyone, this is Sri. I recently received an admission offer from City College of New York for an MS in Cybersecurity starting in Spring 2025. However, I have some concerns about choosing this college. Since it's not as well-known as some other institutions, I'm unsure about the implications, especially regarding the visa acceptance rate.
As an Indian student, is it advisable for me to choose this college for my MS? Additionally, will there be any issues with securing an education loan or getting a visa approved? I need to pay a $300 deposit by November 7, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
can anyone help with trying to figure out why Cuny first is not showing student center?
I would like to attend Baruch in the fall of 2025 but i don’t graduate bmcc till summer 2025. My associate will be in business administration what would I need to do to be guaranteed admission or atless a Better chance?
Hey im a freshmen 19 and in college and this has been on my mind for a while and has been stressing me out. But for anyone currently working but also a full time college student how do you do it? I've never had an actual job, and im at that age where i probably should find one but i've been extremely stressed with school, and a lot of personal stuff. It eats me up all the time not having a job but Idk if i could mentally handle not only school and family problems but also work. So i ask again if anyone is currently working whether part time, internship, or whatever how do you do it and if you can give some advice? Thanks
i was enrolled at BMCC a few years ago and did not take academics seriously. upon returning my gpa is a 1.2 (mostly because i stopped showing up to classes early on - i didn't even try grades are mostly WU)
i am back at school now and doing so well. i hope to get all A's in my classes. i have about a year to go. my advisor said i could graduate with a maximum of only a 3.2 GPA because of my old grades that are preventing me from achieving a higher grade. am i fucked to transfer out to a 4 year school? i literally cannot achieve a higher GPA because of this. this is really discouraging me. can someone please share their experience with having a low GPA in CC and then transferring to a 4 year school (preferably in NYC) thanks.
Do community colleges get refunds or no?
Hi everyone,
I’m an international student aiming to pursue a master’s degree at Brooklyn College (CUNY). Unfortunately, MPower doesn’t finance this school. I’m looking for recommendations on private lenders that offer student loans for international students with a co-signer.
Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
I go to CCNY and was wondering if anyone knew of any Excel Tutors or if there's any resources that can offer it. Would be greatly appreciated
I'm a high school senior trying to submit during CUNY week but I was wondering if there is an actual word count for the Hunter supplemental essay ("tell me about something that isn't reflected..")? I can't find any information on it. Also, is there any ideal format our documents should be in when uploaded?
For the activities section, the app doesn't have sections for the name of the activity or dates or anything-- would it be okay if I copy pasted from Common App? I also randomly put dates (but correct year) for the start and end date.
The CUNY app has the most outdated user interface I've ever seen so sorry for all the questions 💀
hey guys, all of my close friends don't like partying and i used to be like that too, but after seeing everyone's halloween posts ive been itching to go to one.

-signed someone who realized they are severely missing out on the college experience
Hey guys! Last month I went to NJ and found out we can get student discounts thru the BMCC portal. Everytime I tried to login the portal it kept giving me errors. I honestly assumed it was the WiFi connection and took the L on the bus tickets. I’m trying to log back in but it’s giving me the same issue. I tried it on my friends portal and it’s blocking it as well. We went to the virtual panther station but they couldn’t really do anything. We did the math and realized it might be a scam anyway. Am I cooked?
Hello, I have accumulated 15 college credits from College Now classes. However, I only plan on applying to two CUNYs and apply to other schools, some SUNY, and some out of state.
My question is how will these credits transfer to these other schools? I intend to major in political science, though 3/5 of my classes were in STEM.
I’m planning to apply to Baruch
im applying to baruch, hunter, brooklyn, city college, john jay and bmcc, but just tuition is so expensive (16k except for bmcc), along woth housing and other expenses it would cost me a minimum of 30k yearly. thats more than both my parents salary. im not from nyc but i cant study in my country, and please do not tell me to study in another country. i heard that cuny doesnt really offer financial aid or scholarships to international students, so wtf am i supposed to do? has anyone been in a similar situation?
I submitted my transfer application & it told me to create a cuny account to check the status of my application but it says my DOB is invalid & emailed them for help & it's been 2 weeks already.
I’m missing a writing intensive course and applied it to summer could I still be able to join bmcc commencement, I heard under 6 credits is okay can I?
Hey everyone ◡̈ I just got my acceptance email for the spring forward 2025 internship on Wednesday. I picked the STEM green hub and was wondering who got accepted into that hub as well? I’m nervous!
I just submitted my I-20 application form after I accepted my offer and received an email saying my I-20 will be ready in 7-10 business days after “an admission record is term-activated”. What does it mean by “admission record is term-activated” or is there any steps I have to do?
What was I suppose to subtract my total financial aid from again to see my total refund?
I provide instructional support services to students. I'm seeing a pattern that I know is a byproduct of life as a freshman. You need to factor in study time on or off campus. I see very full schedules often back to back yet no time for a breather, research or outlining/annotations. For freshmen I think it is a key to a great start. It gives support staff time to work with you especially if outlining or annotations of text are new to you. As usual I wish all students the very best and do everything I can to start you on your journey.
