R2: No reposts, redundant content, or old news. Check the queue first before posting.
R3: No posts for information or requests for illegal products, services, or activities. No unnecessary violent content.
R4: No off-topic posts. Content must be substantially about or unique to New Jersey.
R5: When possible, link to the original article of a news story, and absolutely NOT a partisan re-write to make a political point. No linkjacking.
R6: No links to articles behind hard paywalls (like Wall Street Journal). Soft paywalls are allowed (like NY Times & NorthJersey.com)
R7: Headline & link format: No link shorteners or otherwise obscured links, including posts, text, and comments.
R8: Articles must be submitted as Links, not as a Self-Post.
R9: No ALL CAPS TITLES or inappropriate use of NSFW/Spoiler flairs to get increased visibility. Submissions must in English.
R10: Please, don't post a help/advice question needing a local business without mentioning where you are or how far are you willing to travel, etc. It does no good for us to help you find the nearest shoe repair shop in Atlantic County only to find out later you're in Morris.
R11: No denying, downplaying, or spreading misinformation about COVID 19 or measures to reduce its spread. This includes: vaccines, quarantines, limits on gatherings, mask wearing, contact tracing, and other public health measures. Moderators can and will use personal judgement when enforcing this rule.
And finally...
Don't drive slow in the left/passing lane.
Don't drive with high beams on while passing traffic.
Don't take up more than one spot in a parking lot.
Don't drive with snow and ice on your car.
Don't shift lanes / make a turn without using your turn signal.
What to do:
Be nice, be funny, be informative. Shitposts may be allowed if they make moderators laugh.
Events! What going on in New Jersey? Post it! (But not NYC or Philly; they have their own subs.)
If you're rude, you better be twice as funny.
If you're self-promoting, it better be good.

Any thoughts as to what’s going on?
So Ive been following this story for about 2 weeks now 24/7.....I am not well lol. But since our govt is nowhere to be to be found so I figure I will give the broadest picture I can of the situation.
Large drones/UAV's have been spotted all over New Jersey starting on November 18th, 2024 every night starting at sun down and have been spotted until sun rise. The FBI and Department of Homeland Security are investigating stating there is "no known threat" as per Governer Phil Murphy
Similar reports of Drone Incursions have been happening At UK Airbases and US Airbases
Reports stating they size range from car size to bus size and larger than those of a hobbyist. They have been spotted in both groups and on individual flight paths.
Reports have stated they have been spotted over Picatinny Arsenel, Trump National Golf Course, and critical infrastructure like power stations, reservoirs and power lines.
Videos are posted all over social media. Some are mistaken as planes, some are planes, and others are the UAV's/Drones. They have navigational lights and blend in with air traffic but have been seen hovering at low and high altitudes, and flying at high/low altitudes. Some have a propeller noise while others have a jet engine noise.
They have been interrupting Life Saving operations by blocking a medevac helicopter
Multiple reports have been stating that they have been spotted coming in from the ocean up the Raritan River meaning they are most likely ship or submarine launched.
Potential suspects include A US Military Drone Exercise, A foreign actor such as China or Russia, a rogue group of hobbyists, or NHI/UAP (Beam me up Scotty!)
Potential Causes
Let me start by saying this is only my personal speculation and what I have come up with to try and make sense of it all and in no way saying this is the truth......and as cool as it would be no its not Aliens.
If this is a US Military Test then it has gone on for way too long and has now entered the rhelm of being a potential constitutional violation of our rights potentially 4th amendment. I am not a lawyer, that is according to Chat GPT so take that how you want.
The Pentagon did have a press briefing where they discussed Green lighting a UAV strategy so that would explain why this would be going on. But would our govt really do this? I mean the implications here that the US Govt would test drone strategies over New Jersey for 3 weeks with no updates with one instance of interrupting a medical evacuation helicopter. People are scared, theres news reports everywhere, so to think out govt would actually perform an operation like this on citizens would be a HUGE scandal and rightfully so.
This is the one that scares me. Considering last year there was the fiasco with the Chinese Spy Balloon and recent news of Chinese hacks of telecommunication networks along with reports of China stopping shipments of rare earth metals to the US for chip production, it doesnt seem impossible.
Also, China has just developed 2 new UAV's that look eerily similar to the ones being spotted. Here is the new CH-10 and Jiu Tian UAV/Drone systems that meet the descriptions of the drones being spotted.
Do I think they would attack? No. But if this is China it puts our military in a huge defense situation because how would the US respond?
Currently China produces so much of our critical infrastructure like pharmaceutical and computer chips so they kind of got our balls in a vice here. And I wouldnt put it past Ping to want to put on a show of dominance to see if he could provoke a reaction from the US.
Conclusion
Again, this is just a report of observations and my own personal speculations that I can only back up with news reports, social media posts, and online discussions.
But this is really scary guys. This is a very serious situation and having absolute ZERO response or updates from our Government is only making it seem worse than it actually is. Hopefully we will get some answers today but this has gone on long enough.

Hello everyone, I apologize if this is not the right place to ask but I'm at a loss here. What happens if I park for more than 24 hours at North Bergen park & ride (say I parked 26 /27 hours)?
I called NJT but wasn't able to confirm whether or not it's something you're allowed to do. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all!
Florham Park FB page posted this as part of their advisory on the recent drone sightings.
While they don’t claim this is a representative image, it’s pretty clearly ai generated, right? All the images I’ve seen are blurry lights in the distance lol, so keep in mind that these might not actually be representative of what the drones actually look like.
Our 'local' newspaper, The New York Times, has remained oblivious to the most critical issue of our time. Not even a few lines. Conspiracy??

Every time at night I get blinded by those cars. Bad idea to have a small car surrounded by idiots— trucks and SUV.
I’m surprised the stores still have toilet paper, eggs and milk. We even had a little snow falling as well
Has anyone else seen any actual disclosures of drones? Seems it's everywhere but Rahway has been the only town to actually say what it is.
Hi!! I'm in my mid twenties, single, just moved into my own place, and working a remote job. I don't like to frequent the bars too much and I'm looking for ways to get out and be social!
I thought it would be fun to take a pottery class, join a bowling league or something, but I'm wondering if there's anything that people might recommend (preferably in/around central jersey and also isn't super expensive) that they've enjoyed meeting young people at? Or even just had fun doing on their own?
Hey Reddit,
I’m really not sure who to ask anymore, but I’m hoping someone here might have a recommendation for a good pancreatic oncologist in Northern NJ. My mom has stage 3 cancer, and the tumor is bigger than usual, so her surgeon doesn’t want to operate.
We’ve already tried places like NY Presbyterian, Meridian Health, Texas AM, and she’s in a clinical trial now. But I still really need to find an oncologist who can keep an eye on her and help us manage everything.
Any suggestions would mean the world. Thanks in advance!
I am new to the New Jersey area. I don't have friends over here and I'm very introverted. It is hard to make more friends without having at least a group of extroverts to tag along with. Being absolutely alone sucks and I'm wondering if anyone knows the best way for an introvert to find a group of friends around Jersey that are around my age. Something I could reasonably do alone because I just can't be that person that goes to a bar and walks out with a new group of friends by myself.
I have no idea what it will turn out to be but regardless I can see how the hysteria must have spread back during the original radio broadcast. A bit ironic since that was also about invasions happening in New Jersey.
I am planning to relocate to NJ from London, UK with my wife and 8 year old son. My employer is sponsoring the move but looking for any advice on what ~£140k compares to in terms of gross income; cost of living comparison; and areas to live with good public schools + within ~45 commute to Manhattan.
Terrible. Delayed delayed delayed. One of my two cats was injured with a scratch. It got massively infected and cost 200$ for treatment. She had 105 degree fever.
Met Life kept asking for the pre existing conditions. We sent everything even though this was clearly an injury not a condition. More and more red tape. 3 denials of reimbursement. As typical as you could get with the “string customer along until they don’t care anymore” style of insurance claims.

So I just spoke with a friend who lives in Morris County, he was absolutely terrified. We were texting about the drones earlier tonight and he randomly stopped responding.
He was “drone hunting”, recording drones next to a gas station and a car with 2 guys and US Government plates approached him. They advised him to stop recording. He stopped briefly and resumed recording right after they drove off.
Shortly after, a white cargo van rolled up, abducted him and took him to some type of warehouse. They said absolutely nothing to him, took his phone, gave him a water bottle, and left him in an empty room on the floor. After a couple of hours, one of the guys came in and said “this is a warning” and took him back to the gas station to get his truck.
WTF is really going on… be careful out there, something bigger is at play
Whoever was flying the original group of drones near the military bases, Trump's Bedminster estate, and near infrastructure are probably going to be hard for law enforcement to investigate. There are simply too many drones now being seen in too many locations every night. It's not possible for these to be from that core group.
I strongly suspect there are now a bunch of drone owners flying their drones for kicks to get in on the 'action'. All the copycats will just muddy the waters investigation-wise. At this point it may be best to ignore it all until the copycats get bored and stop.
Jk, but the drone show company I work for flew a killer holiday show tonight! This was the view from The Intrepid
Saw dozens of drones flying at varying altitudes. Saw one hovering less than 200 feet away. Don't know what these are but I hope we get some conclusive information on what they are before they're gone for good.
