I'm looking at buying (or possibly making) an H pattern + SQ shifter for my sim rig. I tried looking online but I either get the Fanatec and Simagic shifters (which don't inspire confidence) or the BDH H1SQ which sadly is outside my price range. Do you guys know of any reputable brands that sell this sort of shifter? Or maybe a nice project guide for it? (I've seen the Lebois design and Louis Calvet project. Really like the latter but it's a 5+1 pattern and I'd ideally want a 6+1).
Im on Xbox and looking for a better sim experience than Forza Motorsport leagues, which I do enjoy through all the hatred. AC/ACC are fun, but a bit stale after all these years.
How is F1 24' on a wheel? Is it closer to a sim or arcade game?
I see it's made by codemasters and from my (in)experience years ago, I've always dismissed codemasters games. I tried a couple older wrc/dirt rally games and always felt the physics were a bit off, so I havent bought any new/current gen games. I always thought of grid as a "need for speed" type while on controller so I dismissed using a wheel too.
Got it second hand for €330 with 2 rims, the base and the t3pa pro pedals.
Hey gang, I’m running a Quest 2 on this setup below. I’m playing AC, Automobilista 2 and Beam and getting roughly 70fps at 2048x1536 (often a little lower). Would you recommend a quest 3s or is my gaming laptop the bottleneck? Would love to have higher quality visuals and frame rate (wouldn’t we all…)

Earlier this summer I bought a used sim rig and it had a pretty nice set of Main Performance hydraulic pedals. Here's an overview if you're not familiar: https://www.gtplanet.net/main-performance-pc-simpedals-review/
They have been working fine up until last week when the brake pedal just refuses to register any values in iRacing. I have cleaned and reseated the connectors which sometimes fixes things, but the brake pedal is now at a point where it just doesn't work at all.
I have noticed that wiggling the connector sometimes causes values to appear but fully seating it does nothing. The manufacturer is long out of business so I'm a bit SOL in that regard. Here are a few photos of the exact pedals and said connector. I'm not sure what needs to potentially be replaced or repaired.
The other pedals work just fine.
Hi there. I am not the racer. My 15 yr old boy has his PS5 with a alohitech steering wheel & pedals. I bought a new coffee table & didn't realize until after building it that my sons streaming wheel will not attach to it. He has not been able to use his wheel/pedals in about 6 months. I'm searching endlessly for the most economical choice that will give us the most stable & best quality. I have seen Next Level, Gazzyt, Marada, VEVOR, CO-Z, Hottoby, & a few others. I have ADHD & I am extremely overwhelmed trying to decide on my own because I want to surprise my son for his birthday Dec 8. Can I please get the best recommendations under $200 & must be foldable. We live in an apt. I do not need a seat, just the stand for the wheel & pedals. My sons biggest concern is stability.
$600 budget here are the two options.
Go all in kit. Get a Moza R5 bundle with clutch, brake upgrade kit, and GT wheel mod. Gets around $600.
Or cut the clutch and wheel mod for a stand.
I have a standing desk that's pretty flimsy. But it works.
I'm handy enough to DIY a frame to start, but I'm unsure of what to buy for wheel and pedals with plans to add clutch and shifter and a legit Frame in the future.
Wanting to avoid the thrustmaster and jump into moza.
Saw the r3 bundle in the shop. R5 shows as pc only.
Want to make sure I'm buying the right thing
What is the best touring cars game in your opinion at the moment? I have Moza R5 and my favourite at the moment is Forza Motorsport. I'm downloading Raceroom, but maybe there is another game I should consider buying now on steam sale? Thanks
Hi all, I’m looking for some desk recommendations to swap out my Ikea MALM. My sort of “requirements” are that it’s somewhat in similar size or smaller then the malm, also that it can handle the t300 and TH8S (ikea desk 1cm too thick) , got a 32” monitor and potentially another 24inch on top of it (if i find mounting arm) also my PC has to be on top of the desk (dog had fun with pc case) also because I’m playing some fps games it needs to be somewhat wide.. Unfortunately a rig is not an option.. based in uk if that makes any difference.
TIA
Hi, I am trying to build my own sim setup, I have 3d printer aviable so I am going to be building my own pedals and shifter propably. I dont think I have knowledge and skills to build my own wheel so I am asking for suggestions for wheel and if it is worth it to build it myself or should I just buy everything, also should I do shifter and pedals with arduino or usb encoder which one is better ?
Sorry if my writing is bad english is not my main language.
Beginner sim racer here, I looked both of the games up on YouTube but I still cannot really decide and there’s only so much they can include in a YouTube video. Also most of them do not include first person footage. Anyways I’m here to ask which is better, what has the most features and I preferably like more modern cars as well Thank you Edit: Meant forza Motorsport sorry
Merry Xmas to me
So I took my shot and bought a Moza R9 V2 and a Moza ES Wheel during BF sales here in Germany.
Moza R9 V2: 349 € Moza ES Wheel: 119 €
Before that I was using a T300 RS GT Edition with SimRuito pedals.
I just hooked it up, didn't even change the settings and just wanted to see how it felt. What should I say? It's a difference like night and day! After 3 laps on Oschersleben I was roughly one second faster than my previous personal best (MX5 Cup, 1:44.3 old PB vs. 1:43.3 new PB) and I haven't even tuned everything.
I am blown away by the crispiness of the FFB. Man, this was such a worthy upgrade! I fucking love it!
Can't wait for AC Evo!
As per the title have any of you good folk done the above upgrade and if so what are your thoughts?
Over the past year I've upgraded the wheel & wheelbase, left the pedals until last because of a) how decent the Elites are for the price and b) I couldn't decide on these or to stay within the Simagic ecosystem but the more I read about the VRS pedals the better an option they sound.
So would appreciate feedback on those who've done similar or even those who've upgraded from other pedals, cheers.
Is there's a phone holder I can make or buy for the Simagic Alpha Mini? There isn't one on the Simagic website and I don't want to spend loads on one. I saw a few on Etsy but don't really want to buy one from someone random if I haven't seen anyone using it.
If you're using one could you send a picture? And where do you get it from?
Thanks!
So my buddy has driven my sim rig now several times and really begins to get started with the topic. Since he doesn't have much money to spend i was thinking of making him a christmas gift.
Currently im looking at a Wheel/Pedals Combo (XBOX and PC) Used for 150€ +/-
Only wheels i can find are the Thrustmaster T248 and the Thrustmeter TX Leather Edition.
I myself used a T300 a long time and still think its the best entry wheel.
Since the T248 is newer i was wondering what wheel is better ? TX (basically a T300) or the T248 ?
Greetings
Hello. I have finally bought some tube frame rig. It came without chair and has brackets for side mount. Well those are usualy more rare to find so I measured the rigs slider width. And its about 44.5cm. now im wondering how can I mount bottom mounted seats that are more common close to me. Those seem to usualy have only like 36cm width for mounting or so. Anyone had the same issue? I would like rather reclining than fixed seat...
Hi all, I have long enjoyed racing sims and have always wanted a full sim setup but couldn't justify the cost until now.
Previously all I've had was a Logitech Force-GT wheel and pedals which were awful (and as they were something like $200 I wasn't surprised).
I still can't afford everything all at once but I got the basics and will piecemeal the rest as I go.
I did a lot of looking and finally settled on the following which I ordered from Fanatec for ~$1k:
That said I only just found out that Fanatec declared insolvency a few months back and got picked up by Corsair. Obviously no one can tell the full future but I wanted to ask has anyone gotten their product since the insolvency was announced? Have things been smooth the last few months as far as order fulfillment and customer service goes?
I'm a little concerned I just sent them a bunch of money and that I may never see the product due to the buyout/insolvency.
Thanks for any advice/info.
Hey all, I've recently purchases a new Moza R9 set, moving from a G29, suddenly the F1 game has some terrible screen freezes. I'm talking 10 seconds every 30 seconds.
Has anyone ever experienced this before and have they found a fix?
I am on a ps5 and I am looking to get into sim racing. What's the best wheel for a start (I play on GT7) and my budget is diverse I just want the most realistic feeling wheel, so I can feel like I am driving an actual car.
I am looking for a decent headset for sim racing so I can use aslt night and because I tend to prefer using headphones anyway. I was looking at the below due to Black Friday discounts on them in my area where they are all approx 60% off and round the 40/50 police mark at the moment.
I also use VR, so ideally want something that kinda works with VR headset and doesn't get in the way of each other too much.
I presume wired is better than wireless to minimise latency, and the wired Logitech ones above also come with a USB DAC, so can be plugged straight into 3.5mm on my VR headset or by USB into a PC using the DAC.
Any thoughts on the above, or any other suggestions?
