I mostly race in ACC and you know ACC have GTWC cars that use TC and ABS and ACC usually requires you to slam the breaks at 100. Now it's a bit difficult to drive different kind of cars in AMS2 or rF2 which are totally different and don't use assist all the time (I don't know if it's common in AMS2 but some cars feel so slippery in corners, I'd appreciate if you can give me a guide for AMS2 driving physics). The real struggle is ABS, i usually lock up in every corner especially on F1 cars and I don't know where to even start to practice for them. How do you manage to not lock your tires? Like which part of the car setup can help for that? Especially in heavy breaking corners like chicanes? Is trail breaking more difficult when you don't have ABS? Also I don't have load cell pedals (can't afford them, this is my first racing setup) so if you can give me some tips, where to start for practicing and which break settings need to be changed to help with that I'd appreciate it.
Sorry for asking too much questions.
hi. i bought this t300rs from a used local marketplace. the base and wheel is in good condition and no software or hardware issue so far. but i noticed a squeaking noise when i turn the wheel. no matter if the ffb is on or off, if its plugged in or not, or any degree im turning this squeaking noise persists.
video: https://youtube.com/shorts/JJ2cIL90kiY?si=h52QlYjjnM6hpYR8
however i did find a thread whre a guy had the same issue and someone said that its normal for belts to do that noise overtime. but he said if ur impatient u can lube it with grease. later the guy having the issue said that the weather in his country got warm and the noise stopped.
what do you think this is?
So, always been into racing games but all I have to play them is a 10 year PS4 controller, which in fairness still works pretty great, but doesn't give that racing feeling. The major reason that I use that is because i really don't want to spend much money on gaming stuff, since I have other priorities.
Recently I saw a G29 on sale for 199€, which typically sell for 300 to 400€ where I live.
I saw a lot of mixed opinions on this wheel, mainly that its basically unchanged since its release, so the true question is: do I take this imo great deal or do I save for a little while and buy a better sim with for example a DD base.
I'm hoping someone can help with suggesting the best sim for drag racing. What I find after searching is mostly content about the following games, but I find either through trying myself, or reading comments about them that there are some pretty noticeable flaws in each game. -BeamNG: It looks like there's a dedicated community around drag in Beam, which I own and have tried the drag racing track in. It seems though that it takes a bit of modding to get basic things like reaction time feedback, but mods can actually cause the drag map to not function at all? (Black screen upon spawn) -Bounty Drag Racing: Some comments hail this as the most realistic drag racing sim, but then others point out really big flaws due to bugs in the game. -NHRA: Terrible Reviews citing poor physics, pretty graphics wrapped in bad gameplay.
I'm hoping that there's a game I don't know about, or someone can point out something I'm missing about Beam. My dad has been drag racing since the early 80s and and he's not into games at all but when I got my rig together I assumed there would be some sim that is somewhat realistic with physics, has wheel support, and features the whole aspect of a drag race like doing a burn out, cutting a light and modifying cars. It would be cool to show him this part of gaming and how realistic sims can be. This community has been great for my new hobby, hoping someone can steer me (sorry) in the right direction for this sort of niche corner of motorsports.
Hi Guys,
New to the hobby but lucky enough to have a Logitech G pro wheel on a crap 60-dollar wheel stand. I'm figuring out what my next upgrade should be. For the next year, I won't have the space for a full aluminum sim rig, so I'm torn between getting a PC for iracing( currently i play GT7 on my PS5) or buying a DD wheel stand to improve the quality of feedback I feel from the wheel.
Any advice or thoughts on wheel stands made for direct drive wheels?
Thanks in advance
Title says it all, I'm wondering how I would mount a simagic alpha to this rig. I see that there are mounting options available for purchase, but it it possible to flat mount the base to this rig?
Thanks in advance. Also, if anyone has recommendations on how I should mount simsonn pedals to this (I don't have the simsonn baseplate) I would love some input.
TIA
This is what I have to work with. Would it be best to get a wheel stand or a cockpit, my issue with a cockpit though is that I won’t be able to see my monitor as most budget cockpits seem to sit quite low on the ground.
What option should I go for
Looking into getting a racing sim rig for F1 and dabble in other types. Will be using my current PC I just built a few weeks ago. (AMD Ryzen 5 7600, AMD 7800xt, 32gig DDR 5, 2tb ssd etc.) The setup will have a dedicated space so it does not need to be moveable.
Let me know your thoughts and opinions. Would like a setup that is good for awhile that can be upgradeable over time. Do not mind spending a bit more to get a solid base (Buy once, cry once type of thing). Also am more of a "goldilocks" type of person - do not want the entry level but also do not want (or need) the best of the best). Thanks!
Keep in mind I am in Canada so options are limited because of shipping costs... Here is what I came up with.
Chasis/Cockpit - 6-Sigma 6s-80 Chasis (might go for the 6S-Slim but they dont recommend a monitor mount on it...)
Steering Wheel - Moza KS
Wheel Base - Moza R9 V2
Monitor - 45" LG QHD Curved Gaming Monitor (just a single one).
Pedals - Moza SRP
Seat - R-Sigma RS Adjustable Seat
Was considering Fanatec but from what I have read it sounds like their customer service and quality is not great. Am I wrong? If I were to go Fanatec it would be CSL Elite Steering Maclaren GT3 V2 Steering Wheel, CSL DDQR2 Wheel Base, and CSL Pedals.
Hi, maybe anyone can help me. I got myself a Golf MK6 Dashboard to Control it via arduino to use it in my simrig. Rpm and led indicators working good so far, but the Speed is problematic. I send the command for Speed 50kmh to the Dashboard and it is showing 50. After 4-5 seconds it Drops to 0 and nothing Happens, Even if the Speed can command is send every 20msec. Id read that there could be an issue with the abs, that could cause this, but im unable to Isolate the issue and fix it. Anyone an idea what to try?
Thanks
Hey all
Would the CSL elite pedals V1 work well with the Cammus C5 wheel and base for pc?
Found a second hand set for £150. Is that worth?
Also do they work well on carpet? Going to have a desk setup
Cheers
Hey im new to simracing, i just bought a used logitech g29 and everything works perfectly without a problem only the brake pedal is doing weird things. It doesn’t brake on its own but if i just touch it (not even press it) it keeps braking forever. I tried looking into logitech g hub but even if i set the sensitivity to 0 it keeps happening. Any ideas?
I really appreciate the help, i was excited and now im just sad tbh.
For those who already bit the bullet, is there a way to set up the ABS and TC in simhub in case you play a game like LMU or RF2 which is not on the compatibility list ?
I dont care if the auto detection doesn't work, but not being able to create my own profile on simhub would be a shame.
Hello fellow Drivers, I have a problem with using my Thrustmaster tmx Steering wheel, fanatec csl pedals and a usb shifter from amazon. The crew 2 only allows me to use one of each these devices and not all 3 together, is there any way to make this work? I have absolutely no idea and any help is appreciated. Im on Pc btw Thanks
Hello as the title says. I am a complete noob to racing. I tried a sim rig not too long ago and got hooked. The feel of wheel, the excitment of pretending to be a racer, the thrill of going 150mph+. So I bought my own gear. With research I bought Assetto Corsa and even though people say Forza is not full sim I do have the latest Forza and Forza Horizon on PC.
I have no idea what I am doing in these games. I barely know that I should keep a certain driving line, fast isn't always the best choice and dont crash.
I like the Idea of Gran Turismo and learning the game with licenses but don't have a PlayStation. What is the best way to learn the techniques and rules of not only sim racing but racing in general?
So I am stepping into the realm of sim racing, I have been playing on controller for about 7yrs now and i think it is time to move on from that.
I have been looking at the fanatec CSL DD ready2race bundle, is this a solid option or should I look at any other options. If so please let me know.
Since i almost died by a snake a few weeks ago, and had to move back in with my parents due to losing my job I figured I should do something with my life that’s meaningful so I can give something to society. So I started to play racing games on my PlayStation 5 and I was wondering which steering wheel would be a good fit. I’m looking for something not too expensive but also not cheap. It has to be good quality but doesn’t need to have useless gimmicks. As long as there is great haptic feedback and force feedback I’m good.
Things I need: steering wheel with paddle shifters and pedals. I don’t mind if I have to buy them separately or if them come in a package. I would prefer a formula 1 style steering wheel but isn’t a must.
My budget is €500 / $550
I'm wondering what is the connection between people who enjoy sim racing and their MBTI type.
As those knowledgeable about MBTI would know, there are four different cognitive functions that define any type. It seems to me extraverted sensing or Se is likely the most relevant cognitive function for sim racing.
If you know your MBTI, please share!
Hello everyone, new to the sim rigs.. xD
I’m questioning if you guys think this is a good racing position, I know it’s more of personal preference, but my legs are feeling numb after like 30/40min… I can’t do an endurance because after that period I can’t brake the same way…
Thanks in advance everyone!
Looking to upgrade from t300 rs gt wheel and pedals to a newer direct drive setup
I’m limited by space and it needs to mount to my desktop which I know isn’t ideal but it needs to be a flexible work and sim rig setup
I’m not too bothered about loadcell brakes but would be nice to have a platform to upgrade to them in the future
Currently it seems the moza r5 bundle is the best and I’ve heard there’s some issues with fanatec at the moment
I’ve also considered the moza r9
Wondering if anyone has done a similar upgrade or has an opinion on what a good upgrade would be?
Not looking to spend more than £500-800
Mainly use iracing
I’m switching from 42 OLED to triple monitors. Due to little space I’m going with 27 inch monitors but there is too much options on market. I have ATI 6900xt so must be freesync compatible. VA or IPS? Ghosting affects on simracing? So much doubts. Could anyone a give me any affordable solution? Thanks in advance
