Excuse my technology illiteracy as this may or may not be an easy fix but I have been having issues with low frame rates every time i load into a session. (steadily around 7-10 FPS). I had just hardwired my computer for direct internet connection as i thought that was the issue and also updated my GPU drivers. It helped some and it raised the FPS to around 19-21 steady which is still nowhere near where it should be. Could it be a settings option within Iracing that may have accidentally changed? I have played around with some settings in game but with not exactly knowing what could help, i seem to be at a loss. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.
This became very clear after running the itesting. Such a good combination to run.
I’m usually a pretty frequent flyer on week 13 doing the goofy combinations, testing out new cars, and just having fun with new tracks. It just feels like this week 13 was more of a quality of life update…which is fine and all, happy it happened! I just didn’t enjoy it like I usually do.
I’m also wondering if the McLaren not being available has hampered it a bit?
Hi! This is AdrianCarrion2, im actually on 2440 irating, and im training to grow up, if there’s people like me, im glad to use this to keep in touch
Hey everybody! Over the past year of playing iRacing, I have noticed that the IndyCars are a bit slower compared to their real life counterparts. In real life, the cars are reaching over 240mph at the end of the straights at Indy and don't lose that much speed through the corners. In iRacing, the cars reach maybe 234mph at the end of the straights. This is no big deal and I don't mind this at all, but I was wondering if the IndyCars in iRacing are capable of going over 240mph at Indy while still putting down a solid 4 laps. Thank you for understanding y'all!
Hello, since the last update, I’ve been experiencing severe stuttering at two specific spots in Algarve. It’s been happening for the last four days. I’m currently practicing there with my team. My PC isn’t showing any issues with CPU, GPU, or network usage. However, during the stuttering, my FFB also cuts out for a brief moment, causing me to lose about half a second as it always happens in two critical braking zones.
It’s always the same two spots, right in the trail-braking zone. Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this?
My teammates say they can see it when driving behind me too. My car jumps like you all have seen it before.
Anyone got info
Hi!
I have been using SimHub for TC to complement "Enable pedal vibration" setting in-game. However, I have noticed that recently the TC effect is not there or very, very weak to say the least and even the test function inside SimHub gives weak vibrations while being in the car. It works as needed when "Enable pedal vibration" is off, but that is something I would like not to do, I was content with it, I would like to avoid the hassle of configuring break pedal in SimHub.
Has anyone noticed it as-well? If yes, what could the solution be in getting it working as before? Probably has to do with the season update.
I have been looking for a league that follows the Ferrari GT3 Challenge for newer/slow racers, but I am not finding any. I realized that the new BMW M Power Tour follows the exact same schedule. I think it would be great fun and a good way to gain experience in multi-class to combine these two series into a single league. Races would be Saturday, 45 minutes with reduced gas tanks to force a pit stop. If people ask we can also do a Friday night practice, but the races will be the exact one official is running that week, just a little longer. I am US Eastern, but we should be able to work a time that fits into a bunch of timezones well.
Right now I am just looking to gauge interest. I want to keep the league small, maybe 40 drivers max. Assuming not everyone can make every week I would expect 20-30 cars to grid. To keep the skill ceiling down I think maximum of 2k iRating across all license at time of signing up would be effective.
The release notes says
“Cars using Standing Starts now automatically complete a simulated Parade Lap around the track. This process warms and conditions the tires and heats the brakes, improving the starting experience. Natural clutch variance has been added as a feature to iRacing.”
Does it means in mazda mx series just after race starts my tyres are warmed already? And I dont need to make at least first racing lap more accurate what people used to do usually
I know that this may be subjective (due to iRacing BoP) but … 3.6k guy here, racing between gt3 fixed and gt4 falken last season. I m planning to race all VRS and gt3 fixed next season - I already have most of tracks. Since I would like to boost my irating to 5k I would like to ask here which do you guys consider the best gt3 choise to race next season. I already have Ferrari and Porsche but maybe I should pick Audi or new McLaren to get that extra thenth.
I've really enjoyed being a part of this league for the last 2 seasons. It’s particularly cool to race against the same group of friendly, skilled drivers week after week, plus it’s a really nice break to not be worrying about irating and safety rating.
Some specifics:
New season starts on Thursday, September 12th. Interested? Start here: https://discord.gg/BAv2HqJt (link valid for 7 days, send me a comment if it has expired).
I’m happy to answer any questions in the comments.
Next season will be my first full season. Formula cars seem to have clicked better for me. I’m going to race formula 4.
It seems to me there will be about 4 tracks that are relatively unpopular and historically have low participation. How will the racing be in these weeks?
I'm 100% sure I'm not the only one that has noticed this but, the Indycars are WAY too loose. Whenever I hop into a competitive race or a laid-back AI singleplayer session, the cars are always wanting to lose traction or spin out of control. Indycars have extremely high amounts of downforce in real life and don't spin out of control this easily. Even Conor Daly mentioned in a stream how loose the Indycars are in the sim. He is right. The track can be 100% dry and the car loses traction like it is flooded. Makes no sense. Is there anybody that has a reasoning as to why the Indycars are so darn loose?
I know what the L and Q are. But what does the E mean. Can't find that anywhere.
Does anybody know what that is and how to remove it? 🤓 Thank you
Idk what happen, it works at the begging, but after a few seconds, it turns of. What should I do?
After the latest update, all of my graphics settings got reset to default, and I cant figure out how to display on 3 monitors again. When I boot up into a session it displays only on the center monitor. If I Alt-Enter, it displays on all 3 monitors, it displays on all 3, but leaves a gray bar at the top of the monitor and my task bar at the bottom. Nothing has changed with my system other than the iRacing update. I've gone through some previous asks of this (typically editing the rendererDCMonitor.ini file), and I still cant get it to work. However, most of those are a year or more old, so I'm sure plenty has changed since then.
Any suggestions of what to look for in terms of settings?
I have 3 curved 2560x1800 monitors
Have you run F4 Regional Asia/Europe series race from USA?
I'd like to do the occasional one when I prefer that track over the Fixed series.
How is the performance due to higher latency? Are you the jumping car?
I’ve recently had some issues installing and update, and I figured that I should uninstall and reinstall, however I’m concerned that I might loose my cars/tracks. Steam is saying that if I do uninstall iRacing, additional content will have to be reinstalled (or something along the lines of that).
Attention any leagues that are interested in having their races broadcasted. If your league needs a stream that can deliver a polished and engaging show, which includes commentating, on-screen graphics, and instant replay I’d love to chat about how we can work together.
We are happy to tailor things to fit your league’s style and needs. Please don’t hesitate to pm me if you’re interested or know someone who might be!
Thank you. SS
It was pure glory and likely never happen again. Haha.
I qualified in P1 and pretty much led the full race with no incidents.
Will I get one of those cool certificates for winning your first race that I see people talking about?
Or because it’s week 13 they won’t do that.
Do you think this is something we could ever see? And would you like to see it on iracing?
With it going on currently during the end of week 13 had me thinking it could be a good week 13 style track/race.
PLEASE IN NEED OF HELP! I want to race set up GEN 4,5,6 on my single Player AI. ALL i want to do is player by myself with the GEN 4,5,6 CUP ROSTER. Why am I having to install 3rd party apps like IRSIDEKICK AND TRADING PAINTS TO DO THIS???
I'm asking for a friend who wants to buy a pc for simracing planning on either a 49" single monitor or 1440 tripples. The budget is set and the best he can get (I assume) for that money is a ryzen 5 7600X paired with a 4070 super.
So, my question is if you can come up with feedback of performance in average scenarios (let's say gt3 field in rain) in case you got a similar setup. In case of answering, maybe add a few words of your iracing graphics setup, please. Big thanks in advance!
Hi all,
For those that haven't run in a league before or are new to iRacing, it's an opportunity to race a bit more casual, cleaner and meet some friends. We have 14-16 repeat drivers and would like to be able to field a full 20 car grid consistently. We run 3 heat races at 10/15/20min duration back to back to back with reverse top 4 and top 8.
Here's our site. It contains our rules for each series, results, lap charts, etc.
Requirements: D3.0, and just be a good person! iRating of our drivers is 1k-5k, so lot's of fun available for all.
We do SFL Sundays mimicking the F1 calendar, so there is some crossover from that as well.
No cost. You can join our discord server and all signup is done through our bot which will accept you on iRacing and in our database/get you your number.
Our week 13 SFL/F4/LMP2 fun race is at charlotte oval tonight and our F4 team draft will follow. Lowest iR chooses first for their teammate.
Thanks everyone, hope to see some of you there!
