There is no age restriction as long as you are not posting your skating footage (videos or photos).
Your post will be removed if it violates this rule.
This is implemented by design to allow the younger skaters to interact with the older skaters but not make the subreddit pointless.
If you are less than [30YO] and want to post your skating footage please use communities which are more appropriate (ex: r/skateboarding).
TITLE RULES:
Your post should contain the following tag at the end [ageYO], where age is your current age in numbers.
For example, I am 38 years old. Therefore, all my post titles this birthday year will be followed by the following:
[38YO]
Common issues:
. You are missing your age tag.
. You forgot to include YO in your age tag after age number.
. You did not enclose tag in square brackets [].
. You did not place the tag at the end of the title. (it should be the last thing, no periods after it).
Note: There is no age restriction as long as you are not posting your skating footage. If it doesn't make sense to specify an age just put [0YO].

Hey friends! Any tips for exiting bluntslides?
This clip is about as good as I’m able to get them. I’m having a hard time getting a clean pop out.
I can do a blunt stall on the curb and pop out no problem, but I can’t seem to put it all together to pop out of a slide. Maybe I just need to go faster?
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.
What's up! I am 30 yrs old and completely new to skating. Always been around it living in LA but never actually took the time to start or learn. I am wanting to start for the first time now. Seeing all you old fellas picking it up encouraged me that I can still do it if I want to!
So I need some help getting a setup. I don't know about board sizes or anything so Id be starting from ground zero here. Any and all advice would be appreciated, thanks!
Need to revisit this.
I ordered some eggs from skatesamples.com (Generator) and they arrived today along with some rails and grip. They were all purple stain on top and yellow stain on the bottom.
These are quite a bit bigger than what I'm used to. I usually ride a 8.25" and these are 9.1" in the center & 8.75" over the trucks. We will see how it goes. I've been wanting to try a larger deck.
I also did some custom decals, I run a small sticker shop. I have never tried rails before & since the graphic will be protected in the center I figured I'd do something. A little company logo and a shout out to Generator as well.
So for context I’m 28 turning 29 this year, I’ve always loved watching people skate. Played tf out of Tony Hawk Underground. Tried getting a Walmart board as a kid but that combined with my limited shitty concrete (farm kid). I never got into it but it was always a dream. I was scared of being too old but said fuck it two months ago.
My friend left his old beat up deck here years back, so I just ordered hardware and put it on that. It’s a pretty beaten down board tbh it’s a 8.25”. Been working on my Ollie’s and have noticed the pops don’t aren’t consistent. So I’m looking for something new.
The hardware I’m currently rocking is Indy 144m hollows Spitfire burners 53 Bones reds
I would just go to the local shop and choose whatever I like, but I don’t have a local shop. We have a zumiez and a vans store. So do I go there?
Or just order online. Feeling a little drawn to heroin boards or an Andy Anderson board.
But I also feel slightly conflicted I sort of want to size up some, but how would that work with my trucks. Should I just buy another 8.25” for now?
Build another complete later? Would ideally like to also have a more cruiser-ish board, just something comfy to get aroud on but still shred.
Also just any advice for a new older skater?
Started skating again about 6 weeks ago. Also posted some stationary Kickflip attempts two weeks ago, so before 20 people tell me to do them rolling, I filmed them while moving this time.
Got so close but after an hour of Kickflips, my legs didn't want to continue.
In case you pick up anything that I can improve on, feel free to let me know.
This thing took a minute to land. Crusty ass spot. 5-O usually my go to, but this took forever… and it doesn’t even look very good. Still I wanted to put a throw away street clip in here since I’m new to the community. Btw, does a diy spot count as street?
3rd day back skating, but 1st day back at a skatepark (powerinn skatepark) in 5 years... Had to just commit to the drop in, started at 5ft then went to 7ft.... I didn't have the confidence to try rock to fakies, or rock n roll to revert on the 5ft quarter pipe, and I am itching to go to Mather Field skatepark where they have a perfect 4 ft quarter pipe that I can roll into and that always feels sick when I can roll into the ramp over the coping and straight into it without setting up my tail at the end I think that's one of my favorite things to do... So that's my next goal and can't wait to get back to as good as riding as I used to be... As for my flat ground tricks I used to be able to double kickflip, hardflip, tre flip, and frontside flips, that's the pinnacle of my skating skill level and I am taking to very slowly to get back there because I want to fix my form because I am certain I can get all that back and some more if I can work my way up gradually again and properly, instead of immediately trying a kickflip.which I know I can still do if I tried, but I think I'll have more fun and be better at progression if I figure out how to Ollie my absolute best first and most consistent because I want to not just be good but consistently good and better than I was before as far as the way I can control my tricks up or down things rather than just landing em without being able to throw them in a line or up a curb, down a gap, into a grind or ledge....idk slowly but surely hope to get there.
Always gotta get that first trick on a fresh board!
Just a day with the homies
