I recognize those mountains from a video I've seen in the past with a super sick park right there.

saying its terrible is a understatement rusted out, bolts are missing on the ramps seen some poor kid get smoke coming down the ramp because of the lip poking up ,chunks of Concrete missing and there is just not enough room when it get crowded not that that happens a lot because of how crappy it is we rather go to the rowin skatepark but the thing is no one wants to drive 20 mins when we could have a good skate park near us and its not like we don't got room there's plenty of room for a expanded park so my question is how can i help get a new park. Sorry for the rambling
My partner and I just escaped Helene since we were in the WNC area and our town isn’t expected to get running water until December. Long story short we’re staying with a friend in Vero Beach Florida and we’re having absolutely no luck finding a park that allows quads, and no helmets, and is free.
Are there any DIYs in the south Florida area, or at least any non-city run parks? We’re willing to travel (Tampa and surrounding areas are about to get fucked by Milton so not there at least) I personally am trying to avoid Miami but ig I’d make the drive for a good sesh.
What's up everyone. We're updating the signage and looking to get rid of some of the outdated and unenforced rules from 20-30 years ago. I'm not really sure we really need signage at all but it can't hurt to have some with operating hours, contact info, etc.
Anyone have good examples from their local parks of signage that focuses more on things like keeping the park clean or being kind as opposed to prohibiting stuff that no one is enforcing. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Seeking a comp for my town that has many trees located in it's park. Here's some more details below.
There are some fantastic locations within the community, but some of the best ones have a few trees spaced around the existing park. Many of the residents in my community are all about the idea of a park being made, but are very adamant that no trees can be knocked down.
Does anyone have any suggestions on parks that have done a good job at incorporating the trees inside of their parks?
Howdy all, got a question and looking for some resources on the logistics and budgeting of building a skate park or allowing an area to be paved for the creation of one.
As background, I’m a venue manager at a university who’s been approached to turn a derelict volleyball court 90x180 feet in total into a viable space for the school’s skaters. I’m not new to working with contractors to getting spaces fixed up or redone but what I am completely new on is skating and skate culture.
What should I look for in budgeting for this space? What will make it most valuable to the students who will use it? What else should I know and keep an eye out for?
At this point the project is still in the proposal and research stage but any advice and resources are very welcome.
I am tasked with doing a quick AESTHETIC fix at our local skate park.
We have a small budget to clean up the paint and graffiti. Then, the game plan is to apply a new color over all the surfaces.
We are not addressing structural or concrete problems this year. What is your favorite graffiti or random paint remover? (followed by pressure washing) Which primer, paint, or product have you successfully used to prime or color the concrete?
My biggest concern is cost, the harsh winter conditions here, and finding the right mix of grip and slip.
The dirt "pump track" would be more fun on a skateboard.
It sucks but still has rules. No bikes.
Disc golf course around the park seemed well used though.
Built by Newline, solid coping, smooth but not slippery concrete. A mini 3 foot bowl with a hump roll-on on the side.
My partner and I are doing a research project compiling a list of the best skateparks in every state in the US. I thought I'd ask this sub to get a public opinion rather than just going off Google searches.
We'll go first - Wisconsin, Wauwatosa (near Milwaukee) though we frequent Sheboygan and Portage
