I took a tour of Evergreen skateparks in Montana a few summers ago, and I'm planning to go again this summer. It was one of the best trips of my life. There are so many new Evergreen parks in Montana and the surrounding states that I'm going to be able to go to mostly parks that didn't exist on my last trip through.
I noticed that on my last trip through there was a vibe on tribal reservations that perhaps I wasn't exactly welcome, especially at Wolf Point, where we were shown firearms from a car cruising through the lot, although there were no other people skating. There were many other people touring the skateparks of Montana that I met on my trip, and the consensus was that they didn't stay late at reservation skateparks.
I'm wanting to skate at Lodge Grass, MT, and I think that's the only park that I'm concerned about on my itinerary for this upcoming trip. Is it cool to skate at tribal skateparks? I'm not so much worried about my safety, but more just being culturally aware of my situation.
I've lived in Fort Myers, FL for about 5 years. We don't have a real skatepark in the area, yet the city is always complaining of vandalism and street skaters. I see it in so many places as well. People shouldn't have to travel hours away or pay ridiculously expensive admission fees just for a good place to skate. I've emailed my mayor on the issue but I just keep getting ignored. Im planning on visiting his office with this petition i've started to show him that this really does matter to the community. If you can help by signing and sharing, or getting any influential skaters you might know to sign it would mean a lot to me and my community. So many kids end up getting into bad habits simply because they lack a place to express themselves. Skating can be a healthy outlet for so many people.
Hey guys - new to both skateboarding and Reddit if you couldn’t tell. I’ve recently purchased a skateboard and have been learning the basics on flat concrete plain near my house. There’s a skatepark nearby that I want to go to to learn trucks I couldn’t do anywhere else but my brothers have cautioned me about the “people who go to skateparks”. There have been a few incidents around that area and I think they’re warning me about it but in your experience has it ever been dangerous to be a new skater.
From all I’ve heard skaters are nice to beginners but I’m unsure. Advice?
Also sorry if this came off as a bit rambly it’s 4 am and I’m tired asl
Thanks

Hi!
If you are in Long Beach, or general region, help us urge the city of Long Beach, CA to consider a skatepark at Heartwell Park.
https://www.change.org/p/urge-city-of-long-beach-ca-to-construct-a-skatepark-in-heartwell-park
Long Beach has had great success with its skatepark system, but our area is sorely underserved. Heartwell has space and would be a great location for a skate spot.
Thanks in advance!
looking for a blueprint or complete aerial photo of the park or even closeups of the left side. i know that this might be hard bc it was torn down in the 80s ish.
What are your thoughts on this skatepark? Am I too influenced by it being a local and over hyping it?
Heading to Dallas in March to see a show. We want to hit some parks near by, but it looks like the majority are outside of the Dallas area. Any recommendations on a park to book a hotel near to?
