Well I got this a week ago, it's a 2011 base with 70,100 miles on it. What are some things to be prepared for?
Hi all,
I'm trying to get a family member's 2016 Mini Cooper back on the road after a long period of disuse. The battery is totally and utterly dead. I've tried using the emergency key to unlock the door (something which I've successfully done in the past) but the door simply won't open. The key turns, the toggle inside goes up, but when I pull the handle the door just won't open. I've tried giving it a good old yank but no joy.
Is there an obvious reason for this or could it be something more esoteric like the door being sealed shut with moss (not inconceivable, the car's been sitting unused for almost a year)
Any help would be hot, thanks - at the moment I only need to get to the logbook in the glovebox so I'm reticent to call out the AA, but I feel like I'm falling at the first hurdle haha.
Let me tell you… the drive home was incredibly smooth, and the traction was impeccable. I love how aggressive they look. They did say the tires would give my Mini Countryman a 4 1/2-inch lift with a wider tread.
I am currently teaching my girlfriend to drive in my dodge charger and we are facing the issue of seeing over the wheel, she is 4’10. Right now we just put two blankets folded into squares and stack them on top of eachother so she can sit higher, and this seems to do the trick. However, I could see how this may not be comfortable or sometimes we may forget to bring the blankets when we go out driving. I am suggesting to her that she should buy a minicouper when she gets her license. I know some allow the top to come down, what are other features you love about the mini couper that can help convince my girlfriend to get one.
Been trying to sort this one out for quite some time, can someone help me out
Just retrofitted a jcw style grille on my 2013 base today, had to cut and zip tie the bottom chrome piece but ay it worked out in the end got some new headlights coming and working on getting some headers and rota blitz wheels
I’ve got a new U25 Countryman and the damn thing keeps honking at me if I walk even a few feet away while it’s running. I even put the key and my phone back in the car and it still freaked out. Please tell me there’s a way to make this stop.
I (f22) got my first Minicoop earlier this year and I’m still learning about the community and such. I got a duck from the other cooper parked next to me while I was at work. I assumed Jeep drivers were the only ones to do this, but that’s cute. I guess I better start buying ducks lol
I just noticed this large scratch on the roof of my mini. I have no idea where it came from, but I’d like to get rid of it.
Does anyone have experience with using scratch removal products on the roof of the car? I found Meguiars Ultimate Compound and wondering if it’s a good option to try. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you ! Ps. Sorry for the poorly lit photo, I just noticed the scratch and it’s dark out.
Hey ya’ll, this is my 2015 Mini S with the automatic aisin transmission. lately (the past month or so) i have been experiencing some issues, such as slow/ rough semi auto shifting, suffering when i come to a halt in D, jerking when i shift from D to N for example, and the lot. i haven’t gotten any codes from Bimmerlink concerning this, which (hopefully) is good.
this is my second car so im still learning the process of working on them.
any advice helps.
I have a base model N16 and would really like to build it a little as NA but I can’t find anything performance wise for it other than IHE. I would like to do cams, pistons and rods. What is the actual difference between the N16 head vs the N18 head beside fittings for the turbo? Could I plug up those ports and slap it on the N16 engine?
(ignore the delivery van in background)
Recently bought a 2007 r56 Mini One as my first car. I love it to bits but after coming back from a drive, I parked, turned off the car and removed the key to then discover this weird sound coming from it's headlights. I believe that it's the self-leveling having a stroke.
The sound comes from both lights and only happens when I take the key out and stops after a minute. But I did hear it periodically when I was walking back home so it may still be self-leveling and draining my battery. Anyone knows anything?
Don’t know if anyone did this meme but this was me the first time I had to figure out my model code
Hi all,
My beloved R50 has finally given up the ghost and I'm picking up my new car next weekend, a 2014 F56. I'm keen to upgrade to Apple CarPlay (I even had it retrofitted in my R50) and have been exploring my options... I'm looking at purchasing a unit from a newer model with Apple CarPlay and touch screen, but I was hoping that if anyone else has done this they could answer a couple of questions:
Will steering wheel controls still work the same as with the previous unit?
Will it still show car's service history etc?
Will the LED ring around the unit still work?
Basically will I still be able to use all functions as normal with this unit... Any advice also welcome!
Thanks :)
Hi, I recently got a black and red mini I have no idea what to name it. I was thinking "Ember" or "Ruby" but they just aren't sticking and I was hoping someone could help me. I enjoy silly names, so if you have any suggestions please share them with me! I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
In love with everything about this beauty. In my 40 something years I’ve never owned a new car! All ears for any tips for a new Mini owner especially for anyone with this model-2025 4 door S cooper. Seems like there are lots of bells and whistles to figure out. I’ve especially been enjoying “go cart mode”!
2017 mini I bought used in 2018.
Battery died and no place but the mini dealer would work on it. The battery itself cost $232. Labor was $293.
I had a battery replaced 3 & 1/2 years ago but the warranty was only 2 years. They said that’s on the low end but gave no reason as to why it died so soon.
Anyone I talk to with a different car says the maintenance costs are insane. I honestly don’t know much about what’s normal. Thoughts?
