Hey everyone,
I’ve been a fan of Formula 1 for a couple of years, but recently, I’ve started diving deeper into the world of rally. I’m an italian screenwriting student working on a school project for a TV series, and rally feels like the perfect motorsport to explore—both for its storytelling potential and because it seems more feasible (at low/entry level) to produce compared to F1. I feel that the whole Circus, even in F4 for example, involves too many elements that would raise production costs to an unimaginable level, because the ultimate goal of a young driver of F4 I guess it's to compete in F1 and I just can't allow myself to go in that direction.
The series should follows a 25-year-old mechanic struggling to keep his family together while secretly dreaming of something bigger. When he crosses paths with his younger half-brother (Same father, different mothers) —a rising rally co-driver—they find themselves forced to work together, despite years of resentment.
I’ve been reflecting on how philosophical speculations about facing life as a race on a track resonate with me. I believe it would be fascinating to tell the story of these two brothers who, despite hating each other, have to race in the same car to achieve their goals. However, I need to explore their intentions and objectives deeply inside and outside the track, as I have to convince potential producers (in this case my professor) that this story about half-brothers can only be told through the world of rally.
To make the story as authentic as possible, I’d love to hear from rally fans:
Looking forward to learning from you all—thanks in advance!
A little Subaru sketch this morning
genuine question since I'm new to the sport, but with only 3 teams competing how did they not win a single race during 2024? The data from the years before that also doesn't seem too good. Is ford m-sport just not competitive?
Which one of the French Seb`s are actually the GOAT of WRC/rallying?
Personally, i would have to give the edge to Loeb, i just think he was a slightly more complete driver than what Ogier is.
What yours take?
Trying to get into rallying, and I want to get a half decent roof mounted light bar (preferably halogens and not LEDs), but I can’t find anything decent on google. Anyone have any recommendations? I drive a 2010 Chevy Cobalt if it helps at all.
I have no knowledge on how to rally or what to do to get started, but I want to. I have this legacy I want to use to get started. How should I get started? What mods should I start with?
This is from our last rally of 2024 here in Sweden. I love how good the car sounds and drives.
Turn up the volume and enjoy. Shorts but nice clip.
So I found a 2009 lancer gts that will hopefully be going on auction soon about an hour away from where I live (no where east texas) and I have been wondering if the GTS would make a half decent rally cross car for someone completely new to the sport or if I should just keep looking
If this is not allowed in the sub, mods can delete. I am wanting to attend one or maybe both of these rallies this year, but have never been to a rally event and know nothing about parking or anything. Any advice about what do, how to spectate, and what to watch for would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: I may also be in the area for the 100 Acre Wood Rally, as well. So any advice on that one would be nice too.
Bon visionnage, Fred....
