I’m in the market to buying a used m340. Are there suggestions as to which year is best? I’ve heard that the 2020 year is better than 2021, 2022, and even better than 2023 but is it true?

Also, are there certain packages or features that are must haves besides m adaptive suspension which I for sure want.

Sorry for a novice question but I want to hear from you people who know a lot more about the m340 than I do

What is the difference between m adaptive suspension and m sport suspension? Also what is the difference between Driver profesional package pro and Driver assist professional package?

so i own a 2016 528i, not wanting to make this thing an absolute beast (not sure that’s even possible) but some more power would be nice, with the reliability factor still being important. i currently have a muffler and resonator delete and that’s all, and no it doesn’t sound like a fart can…that much. i’m pretty sure the car has 2 cats, and i was thinking of getting a VRSF downpipe. i know it’s not legal, but where i live (GA) we don’t have any emissions testing, and the trucks here are leagues louder than my car could be. i know one cat is very hard to remove, could i remove one, put the downpipe in its place, and leave the other? i also know a tune would help tremendously, i was thinking of getting bm3, help would be appreciated!

Is the driver assist pro worth it to y’all? I currently have it and though I don’t use it much I don’t know if I want to lose it on my newest lease. How many of you use it or find it useful? I see the ones I’m looking at have the stop and go

Long story short, my 2008 650i was wrecked before I bought it. It was a pretty minor wreck but small things like this came up. I ordered a new cooler due to this one very slightly leaking and being dented in. Went to install it just to find out the lines are pinched.

I did go through and flushed all the coolant due to it being the wrong coolant anyways. Last owner really didn't do a good job at making this easy for me lol. Got new coolant on the way for it (it's the right coolant).

First thing, if I am to replace these lines, where can I find them/how to install them?

Second thing, if I don't replace it and just seal the leak, will it be fine?

Car ran and drove fine with 0 overheating. Only leak is where the dent on the cooler is. Hard to see in the pic, but it's on the built in aluminum line on the cooler.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I heard m340is are restricted to 130mph if you buy with all season tires, so does this change the limiter?

Hi, so I'm looking for a new car and with my budget few of the choices are BMW E46 or E39. I'm thinking about buying a diesel one (525d, 530d, 320d, 330d). I've been looking for a good option for quite a while now, but I pretty much skipped past automatic options when scrolling through all the listings. A few people I know told me that I shouldn't risk it with an automatic gearboxes just because of how old they are and most likely won't last long. And less and less people want to do restoration work on them. Keep in mind, that most cars here have at least 300kkm on their odometer.

I don't really care if it's going to be automatic or a manual, the issue is, that a few manuals I looked at, they would require at least a thousand euros or even two to at least get the chassis in order. Saw a few kind of clean automatics, but because of the mentioned worries, I just skipped past them.

So I want to know, how's your experience with them?

Someone parallel parked into my car. Not worth insurance. Would you have the plate remounted by a body shop or easy DIY? The plate is on there with adhesive material from factory. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I have a 2013 BMW 328i Xdrive and whilst I was at the car wash my chime came on telling me I had passenger restraint system failure, what does this mean? I spilled some water on the seat just 30 minutes before so could that of messed up the sensor?

Got the refill coolant light in my 2013 X3. Dashed to store to buy coolant and fill, but when I opened it, the levels were near Max. Is the system wrong? Anyone else experience this before?

I’m thinking of getting a 320D g20/21but I’m wondering what the real life consumption is. currently living in a major city, but I will do a lot of traveling between cities and also from basically Sweden to Spain or even maybe Sweden to Croatia so I need a car that’s reliable. That is easy to drive but also consumption levels pretty low. my last car was a 330e g20 and i just loved it, so im familiar with the car just not the diesel engine.

same question goes for the new 520d. and please be specific, how do you drive. im mainly out for long range drives.

I have a 2004 325xi. After 10 mins of driving the temperature gave goes all the way to red and “over heats” I say it like that because the car does not act like it’s over heating. But the temperature gage tells me it is. I’ve put in a brand new thermostat thinking it could have been stuck. Then it seems as though the water pump was not working correcting so I put in a brand new water pump. There was air trapped so I bled all the air out. I topped it off with coolant. Drove it today and again, the temperature gage goes all the way to the red, light turns on, but then turns off and stays in the red. No smoke or any sign of overheating and runs fine. Can someone please tell me what else could be the issue. (No heat as well) more context- no oil mixing with coolant or coolant mixing with oil.

so i currently own a 2016 528i with the n20 engine, post timing chain fix. it’s got about 75k miles on it, no problems yet (knock on wood) i’m 18, and about to graduate. i’m not making too much money, i have about 6k saved up, and i’ll be working a lot more once i graduate. last year i earned around 13k. anyways, i’m aware these cars are not the most reliable car, or even bmw. since it’s getting closer to the 100k mark, i’m starting to look at different cars i could get. my current car was paid for in cash so i can sell it/trade it in. it’ll be a little bit before i actually have to sell, but i want to start thinking. so the question is, what cars would you guys suggest for me next? considering my budget won’t be too high. i’d like a car that i won’t get bored with immediately, as i’m already used to the bmw’s power. (yes the 528i is “slow” but when you’re coming from an old camry, this thing is fast.) but will also be at least as reliable as this car, if not more reliable. it doesn’t necessarily have to be another beamer, but i would love for it to be, i’d appreciate any answers!

So as stated in the title im looking to buy a G30 M550i (2019 or newer models) in the upcoming months and I'm interested as to what you think are specs one shouldnt miss out on. Im not tooooooooo concerned with resell value as I believe the V8 is gonna do somewhat okay in terms of loss in the upcoming years.

Now for the main points:

2 zone climate control vs 4 zone

seat ventilation vs no seat ventilation

adaptive cruise vs no adaptive cruise

These are the points im not too sure about how often you're gonna use them or how effective they are. Are some of them specs you dont really need? What are the specs I need to make sure to get?

So my friends friend(a grown up dude)( we are 20) has an F90, and my friend sent us videos of it, and we liked it a lot, and jokingly said that we wish we could take a ride in it, said acquintance of our friend told us it would be 30 bucks for a little ride, do you guys think this is fair?
