I just bought a 2009 3.5 V6 Accord and then got code P0420 on dash. I don't have an exhaust leak and the 02 sensors are good and so I am in the progress of replacing the Bank 1 primary cat. I bought the cat and a gasket so far (will include part numbers) but some sources are saying I need an upper and a lower gasket but some are saying just one is needed. Can someone please tell me the specific parts I need to do this and include the part number? So far I bought:
Bank 1 Cat: 18190-R70-A00
1 Gasket: 18115-R70-A01
Thank you!
So Im doing a back cat delete on my 06 accord and I was wondering if I should hollow out my cat or replace with a pipe
I'm about to pass our 2010 Element to our 16-year-old. I'd love to get the interior as close to new as possible.
Is there a service that can bring the interior back to life. Something beyond the local, high-end car wash?
Yes, if it costs a few bucks, so be it.
Our Element is in pretty good shape, but it's also seen better days. There's food stains on the back seats from years of driving with my kids in the back. I assume even the best service won't be able to take care of that.
There's also a light, dirty film on the doors.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Any specific ideas in the Chicago area, and you would be a god!! Thanks.
Hi all!
I’m looking for a car rn and came across a beautiful green 2001 crv with 74,700 miles on Facebook marketplace asking $6,300
There’s been multiple owners, it’s rebuilt title due to radio theft, and it’s said (I’ll check it out in person to be sure) to be rust free with new brakes, rotors, spark plugs, and coils.
I’m hesitant about the lack of service history prior to this owner and about the rebuilt title.
BUT I’ve had great experiences with Honda, this is within my price range, and it’s low mileage.
What do you think? What should I be looking out for or asking about the car? I would use it as a commuter and need it to handle snow somewhat well
Thank you in advanced!!
I would like to sell my 2023 car in VA, but I’m still paying for it. What should I know before selling, and what’s the best way to go about it? (Not planning to buy another car or trade)
I drive a 2010 accord 4 cylinder. I changed my oil a little under 2 months ago and have put just under 3200 miles on it since then (it is currently at 140k). Usually I would change it every 5-7k with full synthetic, but my dash says Service A and is in the negative after only 3200 miles.
My car started misfiring and throw codes about 2 months ago. My husband changed my coils and spark plugs. It happened again so I brought it to Honda. They changed at 4 could to Honda brand coils. 750$ later there is still a little sputter when I start my car. I put a fuel system cleaner in it and it’s still happening. Better but still happening. What could be the issue? Honestly might just trade it in at this point. I have a daily commute and no time for issues like this!
I’ve been having this issue for a couple of years now though it used to be a once in a while random occurrence, now it’s happening every time I go to start my car up.
So when I leave it off for a prolonged amount of time, I won’t be able to use my remote start and all the lights come on my dashboard telling me to go see my dealer. It used to only do it like once in a while. Maybe once a month. I thought maybe the moisture or cold was doing it. But then the pattern stopped. It went from doing it once a month to once every few weeks, to once a week, to a couple times a week, and now it does it every single time I start my car up after leaving it off. I’ve found a few ideas on what could be the problem and they range from simple to having to hire a professional mechanic and get charged an arm and a leg.
The most common cause I’ve read about is the battery but I’ve already replaced that, so it’s not the issue. Then I checked my fuses and all of them are fine but bizarrely, I found when I remove them and place them back in… the problem stops. Everything is fine until I turn it off, leave it off for a few hours and try to start it up again. Eventually I got tired of replacing all the fuses and was able to narrow it down to one row (row 21 - 15) where I can remove and replace the fuses. Again, all the fuses are fine.
The next thing I’m going to try is replacing the spark plugs. I don’t expect this to fix the issue as I’m also showing a cylinder 4 misfire on my code reader so need to change them anyway, but I thought I should mention it in case that could be the issue too.
Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to mend this problem?
Engine is a 1.5
EDIT: I’m pretty sure it’s the 7.5 battery sensor fuse that if I remove it then place it back in, then the problem goes away until the next time I go to turn it on.
I have a car loan through Chase. How do I make monthly payment?
I am a happy owner of a new Honda Civic 2024 hatchback. I really like the storage options, both for cargo and people moving, and it just looks nice with that shape. It's not perfect, but that's what modification is for. As such, I dislike the stereo that is installed. I understand that "smart" stereos are the future but I dislike the double din screen that shows barely any important information that a stereo should show, and I'm not too fond of touchscreens. It has the dials, but I want something less. Also, I demand a CD drive and aux-in. Radio is good but I want to play my own music and I don't trust Bluetooth or Android Auto. I'm a difficult person.
Getting to my point, are there seriously no stereo dash kits for the 11th gen Civics? I found a cable harness to adapt their cables into something more standard, but I can't mount the stereo into the space despite being the same size boxes. The screen left too much empty space on the sides and the old stereo has all the mounting points intergrated into itself. I was hoping they would be separate but I was wrong. I've found kits for the older 10th gen models but nothing recent. Is this just what I'll have to deal with or am I just going to have to get creative with scrap pieces of material and/or 3D printing?
I’ve posted here before—but now I’ve decided that I want the same car I had before a Range Rover plowed into me in September —I loved that car !
My civic coupes from 2016, with the most minor dings but still performs like brand new, interiors almost like new, and all the mechanic/electrical are in perfect condition. out of sheer curiosity i checked kelley blue book and the estimated price was like $5k… i got this thing last year for $12k. and i’ve only put 5k miles on it.
I feel like my cars worth more than that, and i know some dealerships would probably give me more for it, but damn KBB couldn’t you have sugar coated it or something?😭 some doctors appointments cost more than that… i was told hondas hold their value well, i guess 8 years is considered ancient to KBB
I need help identifying what's wrong with the windows on my 2006 Honda Civic. It's not just that the buttons to push the windows up or down don't work, but the windows just slide. Like, I need to wedge something between the window pane and the door so that the windows won't slide down. I have no idea how something like this would be fixed. Any ideas?
I bought a Honda CR-V with 1.5L turbo engine used and it broke down on me already! When I would accelerate it would lurch and lag then lose power and the check engine light started blinking so the dealer towed it. So any ideas what it could be, how long it would take to repair and if I need to go get a rental car? I haven't heard back from the dealer so... anyways I'm glad it came with a warranty!
My 2018 Honda crv screen stays on the loading screen displaying the Honda H symbol, goes black, then goes back to loading. I’ve replaced my car battery, I’ve tried doing the reset with the volume button, , I’ve opened the fuse box under the hood and removed the #19 fuse turned the car on and off and replaced the fuse, nothing seems to work. I have a feeling my local Honda shop is going to charge me an arm and a leg to fix it, but without it there’s no blue tooth, apple play, or radio. I can’t even adjust the time for daylight savings. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
My factory headlights are clouded over, and yes, I've re-surfaced them again, and again. It looks good for a little bit, but then just gets cloudy again over time. I just want to replace them. From Honda, the headlights are nearly $700 a headlight with shipping. That's a rip off. I do hear horror stories about Chinese knock offs that don't fit, and/or let water inside them, leading to a quick death. Are there any good after market headlights that look factory-ish, and won't cost me $1400?!?!?!?!?
Stick with me here, I know I sound confusing.
I drive about 20-30k a year and my m340i is way too small for my family and is a serious gas expense. I’m looking to get either a prologue elite or crv hybrid touring. I found both used for 38k. My plan is to keep something until the R2 gets delivered in 2 years (if it looks like a winner when it gets released).
I can’t lease either model because of the amount I drive, should I expect the prologue to seriously depreciate during the next 2 years if I’m already buying at 38k? Same for the used 2024 crv hybrid.
I also loved the xc60 recharge and the Q5 etron but the infotainment in the Volvo seriously annoyed me during the test drive and the Q5 felt kind of small.
Please help 😭
Hi guys ! Any honda expert or mechanic available. I have this bugging issue with my seat belt adjuster and can’t seem to fix it. I would appreciate any help!!! Please
Do the seats in this model lay completely flat so you can put a mattress directly on top of the folded seats? Thanks in advance :)
Is this a good buy? For 2k euros?
I recently moved out of state and need to bring my car in for an oil change and a recall. However, when I selected the minder package on the app, they quote me a price. I am still under the first 2 year warranty with free oil changes. But when I select the same option for my assigned dealership, it is “free”
Before I move forward, I want to double check that my oil change will be free. TIA
