Hi everyone, just wondering where i could find original parts for my honda prelude 1999
Can somebody help me identify this front bumperlip, i think it looks great - good balance between oversized greddy one and kinda bland oem one
I see this is a usdm car and i probaby can't find one in Europe but it is still worth a shot
Im going to be inspecting a 1994 vtir soon, and I wanted to know any potential problems I should look out for.
This is probably a stupid question but I have a low mileage base model with only 78k miles, so would it be worth it to swap a VTEC motor or do y'all have any good mods to help boost power? (headers, exhausts, cold air intakes etc)
Hey everyone, picked up a 99 prelude a few months ago and it’s in the shop to fix some oil leaks. It has a jdm h22a. In the meantime I’ve seen tons of posts, videos etc about their motors “blowing up” and as someone trying to learn to maintain cars better I wanted to ask if you guys have any tips for taking care of the engine to prevent major issues. Seems like every day there’s something new to look out for
My dad is saying I should put the red filter on the valve cover on the cold air intake where there the vacuum cap is, and then I should have a hose that goes straight from the valve cover to the bottom of the car is. I think the way it is on now is correct anyone have experience with this? Should I Hamner another filter and just put it on both?
Prelude, crank no start
Hey there.
I bought a 94 prelude si. On the way home after about 25 minutes of driving it stalled out and wouldn’t start.
New battery, new spark plugs, new fuel filter.
When I changed the fuel filter, it stumbled on and then ran great. A little Smokey but it just smelt like burnt exhaust. However, could also be bad gas.
(Regrettably, I had to drive it on practically empty to the gas station after buying. Definitely sucked up some gunk in that process.)
Then I killed it to make sure I wasn’t leaking fuel from anywhere after changing the filter, and it wouldn’t start after that.
So what’s the next move? Am I pulling the injectors and just trying to clear out the fuel system cause it’s that gummed up?
I’m going to do that and just take this filter off and maybe drain the tank? See what comes out? What sucks is it died with like 15 gallons of gas in it.
Am I correct in continuing this fuel troubleshooting route? It starting with that filter replaced makes me confident, but hey idk.
If anyone’s experienced similar things, let me know what to check on.
Oh and fuses, what are the problem fuses for this issue? I was missing the (ECU) fuse, and I replaced it. Idk if it was actually supposed to be there though.
Anyways, thanks.
I’ve been painstakingly searching everywhere for the past 2-3 weeks for information or listings for these and I can’t find much. Were they an option from Honda or dealership specific? Where can I find a set? I’ve checked just about every salvage yard in a 50 mile radius around me, I’ve checked eBay, marketplace, Kyushu parts, honda25, the prelude forums, honda parts now, I’ve even called Hondas customer service line. If anyone has any leads or even a pair they wanna sell please help me
What parts should I get for a full front and rear suspension rebuild, I already ordered struts and shocks for the front and rear, but what else should I consider swapping out, the car bounces quite a bit even when I push down on the trunk it’s really easy to bounce with my hand, it’s also a little higher on one side than the other. I want to do the work myself if I can just don’t know what else to purchase its the first car I’ve worked on so don’t know much about mechanic work
I’ve been looking for these specific center caps and I can’t find one on eBay
I cram them between the handbrake and the seats. Works surprisingly well and haven’t had an issue either it yet.
Hi, I'm looking at a 5th gen non-SH that appears to have aftermarket headers and no cats. There are no CELs on so I'm assuming the car is tuned. I'd like to understand if it's possible to install exhausts that meet my states emissions requirements and buy something off the shelf for a new tune. Thanks a ton for any insight.
Most fulfilling thing I’ve done in my life😮💨
Am I missing a bolt here? Been hammering away and can’t seem to get this part off.
Any difference in the timing belt/timing kit? Had to go back and forth a few times a couple of weeks ago to find the correct thermostat.
Thank you.
straight and to the point: if i were to engine swap (i’m going to, just gotta save my pennies), what would you guys recommend i put in my prelude ??? not coming to you as “what SHOULD i swap with” but more like what would you suggest I swap with? my plan for my prelude (as of right now) is staying jdm. think like slick 2000 honda on the outside, crazy power on the inside for a bit of insight: i HAD a h22a4 motor that blew last wednesday. lasted 285k miles (which is bonkers to me but true story). i don’t have my prelude atm, my friend’s got it and he’s taking it apart to see why it died. we’re pretty sure it’s got something to do with the timing system and he thinks it’s the balancer shaft belt and leaky valve seals but i’ve heard different things from different people. a close relative mechanic told me my camshafts overheated and seized up (grinding noise), harmonic balancer (it was RATTLING like it was falling loose) slipped the timing belt (burnt rubber smell), the valves fell open and the pistons came down (died). but there was no loud bang, no sound, no fluid leak when the motor took a sht on me. there wasn’t any graphite or metal shavings on the dipstick either. when the motor died it just stopped accelerating — no sound, no noise — and slowed to a stop on the side of the road. that was the end of it. it doesn’t crank up and start, but there’s a grinding noise near the top of the motor that we think are probably the camshafts. i’m hoping the motors not catastrophically fcked cuz i’m out of a car but 🤷 who knows??? waiting on an update from my friend. anyway: i was going to stick with a h-series motor cuz everyone just k-swaps for easy power. and yea. it’s easy power and i want that power. i know investing in my prelude’s gonna be tough and it’s definitely gonna expensive, but it’s my first car and i don’t have the heart to scrap it. not that i was ever planning on it has anyone b-swapped or f-swapped ??? just looking for advice and suggestions. please don’t be rude 🙏 thanks
Hey people I’m just wondering about what ecu my 1992 prelude si should have it was swapped with a h22a4 vtec motor and it is manual anyone know?
Hi, does someone have more detailed vacuum diagram for b20a3 engine than this? (dual carb with cat). Haven't found anything better than this.
Does anyone know how much power a stock JDM h22a type s engine can withstand without becoming a grenade? I'm planning to turbo in future, only want a small bump in power but I'm wondering if I'll need to upgrade the internals.
I got an m2b4 lsd tranny and I think these are fluid lines but where would they hook up to ? And do I need them because my SH transmission dose not have them
