Anyone tried this out yet? Seeing if it’s actually worth printing
Replaced the battery for my 99 prelude but when screwing in one of the terminals, it touched the other terminal causing a spark. Now when I start the car it turns on for a second when dies whether I hit the gas or not. Figured a blown fuse but I don’t see any damaged fuses, wondering if it could be something else
Howdy I’ve got a 98 bb6 base model and I’m looking to lower my ride a little bit, I’ve heard nothing but good stuff from people running bilstein shocks and I want to pair them with the coilover sleeves from skunk2, only problem is I cannot find a part number for bilsteins that fit a 5th gen. Anyone know if those are still manufactured? All the forums I was reading were from 2010 or prior lol. Or should I just buy a set of complete coil overs from Megan racing, I have a buddy who runs them and says they work great. Any opinions would help, thank you.
Wish i had a front/rear view to share. I got my '97 'lude bone stock in '02 and a few months later someone backed out of their driveway and messed up the front bumper, fender, headlight and rim pretty bad to where they'd all need to be replaced. The quote for the labor and oem parts from a local shop was insane so I took the insurance money and bought a full kit, fenders, and rims. I just so happened to be taking autobody that year in high school at a career center and was able to install, mold, and paint it over the course of about 8 hours every week while earning school credits.
bought a new set of axles for my 5th gen 5mt. the manual they came with states the stub seals and clips should be replaced. i’ve looked online and i see mixed opinions on wether it’s necessary to replace or only if they were damaged in the removal process. also could the transaxle seal be reused if it doesn’t appear damaged?
I know that obd2 is hard to tune and obd1 is preferred but its illegal to convert it where i live... or i could swap the harness every 2 years for one day. Any info is appreciated.
What are some tasteful mods to do for better winter driving?
She’s currently my daily, I’ve done the CV Axles, lower ball joints, power steering pump/hose, brakes, currently replacing the plug on my block heater.
New rims / wheels for winter next week.
Then also, what are some tasteful mods to do for better summer driving without straying too far away from stock?
Anyone have a access to the FSM in PDF?? I've clicked a few links and they mostly seem sketchy. I ain't trying to download a fat virus. Much appreciated
Hi team, my Lude had an engine failure a few weeks ago. It had 225k kms on the clock. I towed it to an engine mechanic for a rebuild and was told today that the crankshaft is worn down. The mechanic has suggested either replacing the engine or cannibalising a crankshaft from another engine to continue the rebuild of my existing engine. I was able to source a bottom bay from an engine for $1k aud which seems like the cheapest and easiest option to continue rebuilding the existing engine. Just wondering if anyone had any experience or advice with this process? Anything I should be aware of or consider? Yeah it's probably worth more than the car but it's recently had a respray and a transmission rebuild so I just want it done so I can hopefully have a reliable weekend ride for another 100k kms. Thanks team.
I get my first set of cloilovers for my 99 prelude tomorrow (tein street advance z) and was hoping to get them in in one day. (This is my first set of coils ever) if anyone has helpful videos or forums or even tips it would be greatly appreciated as I have one hand and I’m sure this will allready be difficult enough to do given that. Thanks!
I bought my 5th gen with only the valet key, and I wanted to have an extra to leave in case someone other than me needs to move it.
I called a few local automotive locksmiths and they all quoted me around $200 PER KEY! I felt like this was pretty unreasonable for such a simple job on such an old car, and decided to take things into my own hands
You will need:
I brought the blank keys to my local hardware store and the guy was able to cut both based on the valet for less than $15.
The blank keys came with chips inside, but I found that the proxmark and flipper are unable to program the brand it came with. The shell just splits apart and I can take the chip out, and I plan to get a smaller t5577 from aliexpress to try and squeeze in there.
As a proof of concept, I took a regular size t5577 tag and taped it to the side of the key. I used my flipper to read the valet key, save it to the sd card, then rewrite it to the blank T5577. Put the taped key into the ignition, and voila the car starts and drives no problem.
All in all, for both keys this ended up costing about $40 for both keys. Add another $40 for a proxmark if you didn't already have a programmer, and you still beat the $400 a locksmith would have charged to program new keys.
Will the 4th gen prelude bushing will directly fit on my 5th gen?? I ordered these long time ago and I just found out they sent me this… bummer..
Any ideas what I did wrong? if I tighten the bolt then some of the bushings pop out, do I need washers or did I need the metal sleeve?
At pick n pull. What parts do you guys need?
How to clean out EGR valve?
Any ideas on what it can be ?
