Direct US flight will surely have an impact on Greenland, but I wonder how? Will Nuuk expand rapidly?
What about Narararuaq--the town and the airport? Will both wither? I've been there twice for grants and love the region.
Hi everyone!
I recently came across more about Greenland on TikTok, and it sparked my curiosity. I've been living in Copenhagen for five years, but honestly, I haven’t paid as much attention to Greenland as I probably should have until now. After reading online, I’m genuinely excited about all the developments, especially the potential impact of the new airport!
I run a software company that specializes in building AI-powered solutions, and we’ve created around 15 web apps so far. I was wondering if there are any specific software needs that could help make life in Greenland easier or better connected.
For example:
These are just some ideas off the top of my head, but I’d love to hear directly from Greenlanders about what would be most useful. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments or send me a DM.
A lot can be achieved with software today, and I’d be thrilled to explore solutions that can make a positive impact!
Looking forward to hearing your ideas!
I’m sorry to be blowing up the sub today but I promise this is the last one about this topic for now.
Historic day so lots of posts
Hey there. I came across some interesting job postings from PFS recently. Kept an eye out for similar, but it seems that this company in particular requires a US passport. Anyone here know if this is a hard requirement, and if there are similar companies that would employ other nationalities?
Hello dears! I wanted to ask a few questions about Greenland. Here are some of the main highlights that I'm looking for:
Thaat would be pretty much it! Thank you guys ! 💞
I wander if anyone here has read the greenlandic translation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. What can you say about the quality of the translation. Do it hold up well or are there grammar errors? I've heard that the translator is dead and rumours have it that the company who issued it is defunct. That raises the question who owns the copyright these days.
Would be fun to hear if anyone here has read it. If you're a learner of greenlandic how easy/difficult was it for you to understand the greenlandic text?
I’m curious if anyone here has been to this place? I’ve always found it fascinating that there’s only one forest in the entirety of the island.
Hi all! Been dreaming of visiting Greenland for a few years now and can finally make it happen summer 2025. Currently looking at taking the new direct route from New York to Nuuk in late July and staying for a week or so. I'll most likely be traveling solo or with one other. Will fly to Copenhagen at end of visit.
Things I always look for when traveling: experiences! hikes with stunning views. cultural experiences where you really engage with the place and people, sustainable travel, supporting local businesses
Would love to mix up the itinerary with some established and beloved tours/experiences and some off the beaten path activities. But also don't want to rush myself around and try to exhaust myself seeing everything! Much prefer more time in each place to really relax and enjoy it.
Any tips/advice from the Greenland travel pros in this subreddit? Planning to start making bookings in the next week or two before things fill up for the summer. Thanks in advance!
Oh, and are you also planning a trip or live in Greenland? Would love to connect and maybe meet there!
As a native english speaker, I'm trying to learn Greenlandic and Inuktitut, however it seems like there many different ways of writing words and the grammar is a bit confusing, I was wondering if anyone could maybe help me, or tell me what kind of websites to help me with grammar, correct words, and what region/dialect of greenlandic I should learn. I'm very fascinated with these languages and want to learn them for traveling, speaking, and just for the fun of it too.
Hej
Min mor er grønlandsk og min kæreste spurgte hvordan man siger svigermor på grønlandsk for at overraske min mor, men hvis jeg spørger min mor vil hun lure det.
Så hvordan siger man det egentlig?
Mange tak
Hey guys. I want to put Greenland on my bucket list for 2025 and I’m totally interested into culture. My question now: Where is the best place to visit to get in touch with Greenland but more interesting Inuit Culture. I would love to get in touch with some people and see how they live and how there philosophy of life develops. Tips ?
looking to visit Greenland next year, and was thinking beginning of May - maybe 01-11..
I'll be a solo traveller (38f). Looking for support developing a itinerary and wondering if I'd still be able to see the northern lights during May or if I would need to change months to in order to see them. (I've never had the opportunity to see them in person).
Hello.
I am working here in the next 14 days. Is anyone up for socialising and getting a beer or two?
