Hi just wondering if anyone tried shipping a dog crate in Anchorage and ship it to village in Alaska accessible by Bering Air. Which is more reasonable and accessible, shipping it via USPS?or air cargo with me and add it as additional airline baggage? Thanks in advance.
I am a retired Army IT Chief and this scares the shit out of me. I have written both our senators did not bother with our lone congressman as I have no faith he has the guts to stand up to Musk. Please contact Lisa and Dan and let them know this is beyond scary it is how private corporations take control of the government. Please email them it is really important this is stopped and only congress can do that now.
Saw a couple other places with posts like this. Let's play too.
I am currently an Alaska resident and I just lost my place to stay. I make 42k a year and now I find myself homeless. My relationship with my sons mom took a horrible turn and it came about that she has had a man for two yrs of our relationship this whole time. My time and money was invested in everything she has. From my work tools, renovating her house, buying her a new car, and taking up the bills. Basically, I was the sucker. I'm not even from Alaska and the homeless programs are basically for those who are recovering addits. I attempted to contact the the people for assistance, only to be told to ho to a shelter where they are drug addicts everywhere. I don't drink and I don't do ANY drugs. I'm a father to a two year old who is my world. Now she is threatening to rip that from me. I don't know what to do. I have a new rampage truck and a bunch of expensive things as well. If anyone could help me with some information that is absolutely helpful, it will be very much appreciated. Thank you for taking your time to read this.
Where would one go about finding one? Preferably to rent, as I'd like to try one before I commit to actually buying one. I've got a bunch of dead fall I need to move, but I can't get the 4-wheeler to it. I checked AIH and they have come-alongs and dedicated gas-powered winches, but as I already have a saw, I feel this is the better option.
EDIT: I'm in the MatSu but I go to Anchorage often enough
I copied this from the Texas subreddit. I thought it would be useful. Contact congress and message or call our senators. Our voice is our super power against Trump and his oligarch.

Trump just slapped 25% tariffs on Canada & Mexico and 10% on China to “fix” immigration and drug trafficking. What he really did? Aside from directly violating the Untied States, Mexico and Canada Trade agreement…he made everything in Alaska more expensive.
Guess who one of Alaska’s import and export partners are? You guessed it.
Canada: $753 million (imports) and $596 million (exports).
What This Means for Alaskans:
Fuel: Expect heating and gas prices to skyrocket. Canada supplies.
Groceries: Canada ships in agriculture—food costs will climb. Who has eggs on their face?
Housing: Canada’s provides wood. Housing just went up.
The Fallout:
Canada ($155B) & Mexico are respectfully hitting back with retaliatory tariffs, making U.S. goods MORE expensive. The EU is expected to respond accordingly.
Canadians are assimilating and calling for country wide boycotts of U.S. products, goods and services.
I'm probably going to get downvoted into oblivion for even saying this, but I joined this group because I fell in love with Alaska after visiting a few years back, and I wanted to see more photos of the scenery in my feed.
But for the last few months, it seems the only posts I see are political. I have my own opinions, but for the sake of this discussion, I don't care who's in the political hot seat.
I understand you're passionate, but can we please tone it down just a tad? The world's gonna keep spinning either way, and Alaska's going to be beautiful no matter who sits at a desk in DC.
Let's just chill out a bit. That's all I'm suggesting.
I know somebody already posted something similar, but I love this photo ✨
Is Canadian Goose the new "Alaska women's" fashion statement. Like the extra tuffs and leggings.
Here in my coastal community we have one large Alaska Commercial and one smaller locally owned grocery store. For most goods the local shop is already the cheaper option and I try to do all my shopping there. I am just wondering what a 25% tariff on Canada would do to our prices and how many towns around AK are in the same position.
So many shippers, some scammy, others make you deliver and pick up at a port (my snowmobile is in UT). Can anybody recommend a good door to door service?
