Hey everyone :D
I've always liked the idea of game jams that have a very specific style given as a requirement, usually connected to the location/environment. I think it's the level designer in me, or a worldbuilder, or both. I could never find a jam that focused specifically on that, so I went ahead and made one myself.
https://itch.io/jam/orceard-jam-1
🍋 Orceard Jam will be a 10-day game jam that focuses on themes, styles, aesthetics. Whether it be an overgrown greenhouse, a wooden castle, a skeletal trainyard, a dark bunker, an aquatic library, or a simple lemon orchard, this jam is all about the bizarre environments - vertical slice, asset creation, walking sim, anything playable is allowed. For the first edition the theme is: lemon orchard.
I could use some feedback as this is the first ever jam I'm trying to host and have no idea what I'm doing. Of course it isn't helping that I have no community behind it, just a few of my friends that joined it to help me with numbers initially. I want to make my game for the jam for sure, without participating in the ranking for the prize of course.
I am New to Game dev i have created 3 ,4 mini game not full-scale game . i am interested in a game but i want that if i should join a game as beginner.
I'm currently a student learning game animation and unreal engine and I'd like to start doing game jams. I've never done one so I'm a little bit confused as to how to go about it and have a couple questions.
Do people even make 3D games in unreal engine for jams?
Do you get assigned a team or do you form one on your own?
How do I go about finding a jam for my skillset?
I know this stuff probably gets asked a lot but I haven't been able to find anything about 3D animation specifically

Though I am a game localization specialist, I am accepted in a game jam and I will be attending my first one as a game designer and 2d artist to experience and fully grasp the game developing process. I am confident with my story writing and drawing skills but since they are not my main professions I also feel a bit anxious. What was your game jam experiences like and what are the tips you would give me?
A reminder that Bracket Jam is still accepting people. In case you don't know, it's a tournament-style jam where you compete against each other in pairs (as in, each person in the pair is competing against the other). Each round except the first one, since there's no game to improve, you improve upon whatever game you made in the previous rounds whilst also incorporating a randomly-generated theme (courtesy of whellofnames.com).
^ Go here if you want to compete.
We already have 6 of 16 people willing to compete. We need 10 more.
Also, if you want to judge, DM me on Discord. My Discord username is Edward_Z. We already have 1 confirmed judge. We need 2 more at least. If you're judging, you can't compete. The judging is anonymous so people are judged on the game that was made and not who made it. I'll explain the judging system if you decide to judge.
Good morning all,
I am a mod at PlayMyGame and wanted to let people know that our 100k Game Jam is currently running. Design phase is from 1/6 - 1/13. Judging phase is from 1/14 - 1/28.
I should note that 100k does not refer to the prizes offered (Sorry), it is a celebration of reaching 100k members on the sub.

Happy New Year's all!
It's public domain day here in the US which means another year of works are now free to use and remix without permission.
We are running the 7th year of our "Gaming Like It's 19XX" game jam on Itch.io to celebrate. Come make something! Digital, Analog, it's all good.
https://itch.io/jam/gaming-like-its-1929
There are plenty of interesting works to draw on, including:
Check out the Duke roundup for more!
Our first-ever game jam is starting tomorrow! The goal for the jam is to be flexible, so the submission period is the entire month, but we recommend spending only about two weeks on the actual work. We're hosting the event on Itch, and communication is through our Discord server (you can join temporarily only if want).
Itch link here --> https://itch.io/jam/popped-corn-jam
What does this have to do with Popped Corn? Popped Corn Bytes is a growing game development club where we host co-working sessions weekly, so you're welcome to join those throughout the month and network with fellow creators/teammates.
Looking forward to seeing what games you create!
In this experimental game jam, you're paired up and given a random theme to make your game around. Then, submissions are fed to the judges for anonymous voting based on certain criteria, and the highest score for each pair moves on. We then choose another random theme that you incorporate into your game whilst improving it. Once that round ends, another anonymous judging is held. Again, the highest score for each pair moves on. So on and so on until only one person remains, who is the winner.
^ Feel free to join here if you're interested in competing.
If you're interested in judging, just hit me a DM. My discord username is Edward_Z.
We have 6 of 16 people willing to jam. We need 10 more to start.
