Hi! I’m booking a trip through united airlines and I’m nervous because I’ve never flown by myself. I’m flying from CMH to EWR during the holiday season I plan on flying out Sun Dec 22nd and returning Sun Dec 29th. If there is anything I should know. what to avoid and what to get before I book my ticket it would be much appreciated!
We (couple) flew with Etihad Airlines early October from Bali, Indonesia to Vienna, Austria, where the last leg was from Abu Dhabi to Vienna. The flight was delayed by 4 hours. I raised an official complaint to Etihad to request compensation for the delayed flight, their response was that the EU regulations don’t apply to them and the best they can do is a 200 USD credit towards our next flight (expires in 1 year).
I feel like they are trying to short change us, can somebody confirm whether the EU regulations apply to Etihad in our case and also whether the 200 USD compensation is reasonable?
I’m not a lawyer but I feel like you don’t have to be based in the EU, it’s enough to fly in and out of the EU and the EU regulations should apply to all airlines based outside of the EU. The max compensation based on the EU regulation is 600 EUR/person for flights delayed by more than 6 hours (in our case it was 4 hours and a little).
Hello everyone. I’m flying with Easyjet on sunday, Geneva-Amsterdam. I booked the possibility to bring a cabin bag on the plane, which is supposed to be my musical instrument. The limit measurements from easyjet are 55 x 35 x 25 cm, while my instrument case is 69 x 19 x 19 cm. I’ve been asking my friends who usually fly with this case as a cabin bag and they told me they never had any problems but I’m getting really anxious that they could stop me at gate controls. Should I risk it or should I just pay for an extra seat?
Hello everyone, I booked a flight to London through Pegasus Airlines, with a 1-hour and 20-minute layover in Istanbul. I’m not proud of my lack of foresight, but I went through people’s reviews AFTER booking, and some say this airline has terrible service, especially when it comes to lost luggage, and that the SAW airport is overcrowded. I need people to share their experiences and reassure me because I’m genuinely starting to regret this and feel anxious. I won’t miss my next flight… right?
Hi everyone,
I am a Pakistani passport holder and have booked a flight from Manchester (UK) to Saudi Arabia with Pegasus Airlines. I am confused about the transit visa because the flight will stay at Istanbul Sabia Turkey airport and I do not know whether I can change flights without an e-visa. I also have baggage and the whole flight is with the same airline (Pegasus Airlines). The flight details are:
From Manchester to Istanbul Sabia Airport
Stay for 2 hours 30 minutes
From Istanbul Sabia to Saudi Arabia
Can someone please guide me on whether I can travel via Pegasus airline without Turkey's e-visa? Thanks.
I'll be taking an international flight with Egypt air and will have a long layover of about 21 hours at Cairo Airport terminal 3. I'm flying economy class and would like to buy a pass to a decent lounge at terminal 3. Is there any and how much does it cost? I've seen info from Google search but it seems like some places have shut and most places are not that nice.
I'd like to hear some recent real experience. Also, I've an international MasterCard from a Spanish Bank. Im not sure if it will work for things at the airport, so I'm planning to take some cash USD or EGP with me. Which do you think would be better?
Hello, I am 196cm (6'5") tall and planning to fly from Europe to the west coast of USA in May, which includes a ~12 hours flight. Currently my cheapest economy options start at ~$680 (British Airways, return flight included). Premium economy starts at ~$1150, which is too expensive for me.
I know emergency exit row seats usually offer more legroom. How much more? How and when can you reserve these? How much extra do they cost? How likely am I to be able to get them before others do?
Are there any airlines (or specific planes maybe), that offer more legroom than others at a reasonable price? Are there any other options? If I get stuck with a normal economy seat, do you have any tips to make it surviveable?
I have a Ryanair flight from London Stansted to NĂĽrnberg on the 7th of December, 3 pm.
I've been flying several times a year the past 13 years, but this is the first time I see such bad winds predicted just at the time of departure.
I know it depends on many things, but it seems the NNW winds and gusts of 47mph will be perfect crosswinds. And the windspeed is predicted to be like that for both Saturday and Sunday except at night.
Not sure if delays or cancellation is likely, or would they cancel most flight all day. I don't know what's the precedent.
Takes me 8 hours to get to Stansted with a train and coach, so I wonder if anybody with experience could advice what would be the smart thing to plan for. Would Ryanair give us accommodation? Or leave us at the airport for the night? I didn't find the answers on the Ryanair website and other reddit posts.
Last time I was flying I was stuck in China because of a Typhoon. I'm worried over winds now.
Thanks for any answers in advance , hope my question is not too vague!
Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with flying with Norse UK to the USA. We've been reading reviews and see a lot of negatives based around the carry on situation.
We have a carry on sized suitcase which we would like to take but after seeing what some people have said we're concerned we will have to pay extra.
The suitcase matches their size guide on the website but reading the reviews is making us slightly paranoid.
Any experiences people can share would be great
My stats are 33 flights, 57343 miles of flight distance, 5d and 16h of flight time, 25 airports, and 14 different airlines
I have a trip NYC-Amsterdam via Delta and a separate ticket via KLM Amsterdam-Venice. I was planning on just staying in the transit zone for the transfer and not leave and re-enter. I have no checked luggage. Will it be ok, or do I need to exit and re-enter after clearing the customs? Same thing flying back Rome-Amsterdam via KLM and then Amsterdam to NYC via KLM. If someone has done it before, kindly advise.
I am calling Student Universe today for canceling my flight, and I have been waiting for 2 hours..
Next week December the 18th I will be going from Bergen-Norway to Oslo-Norway to Keflavik-Iceland. I have to take a flight from Bergen to oslo and from Oslo to Keflavik but the thing is I have a stop in Oslo and only have an hour and 25 minutes to catch the flight to Keflavik and was wondering if it is enough time. The ticket is all in one and only have hand luggage that doesn’t need to be checked. This is my first time flying so I am anxious that this isn’t enough time considering I’m going from domestic flight to an international one, the airline I’m flying with is SAS and the flight numbers are Sk236 and sk4787.
I flew from JFK to XRY in Jerez, Spain and retrieved my checked bag to find that my jewelry box and bag of toiletries was completely missing from my bag and my bag was open and upside down on the belt. I filed a claim through the website after sitting for like twenty minutes with this lady to get the information I needed to do so. I get an email later saying that Iberia is not at fault and that in order to do anything else I have to file a police report. This is absolutely ridiculous and I don’t see how this was my fault at all. I don’t know what else to do and I am missing very valuable and important things that I should be reimbursed for.
I’m going to London in April and my home airport is MCO. I’ve flown this journey a lot but this time I’m meeting up with some friends who will fly out of CVG. They’ve never flown so they want to be on the same plane.
Is there a way when booking to force a connection so I’m going Orlando > Cincinnati > London? Or do I just need to buy two separate flights?
Worst experience with Etihad and am never flying Etihad again.
At Chennai (India) airport, I was forced to check in my carry on bag despite traveling from USA to Chennai with the same carry on and personal item, stating that I am only allowed one carry on. Recently had a knee surgery and I requested an aisle seat on my 14 hour flight and the agent said it would cost me 13,000 rupees even though it was $30-50 online AND the Etihad customer service had told me it is free to request a seat at the airport the previous day. Such a horrible experience and had to deal with a rude agent. Will make sure to let people know to never fly Etihad again .
I will be traveling from Jacksonville to Atlanta on Dec. 18th and having never flown before I was wondering how soon I should arrive at the airport. I've heard 2 hours for domestic flights but it being December I assume it will be MUCH busier.
Booked a flight from London to Dammam, Saudi. The employee from Pegasus who was checking my visa had no clue about the rules. She claimed the transit visa is only applicable for Saudia or government airlines. That is bs. I had the same visa transit visa previously and had no issues entering/exiting.The transit visa was issued by the govt of Saudi AFTER I provided them an itinerary that included travel with Pegasus airlines. Why would Pegasus even bother after the govt itself issues me a visa is beyond me. The lady claimed that I shouldn't have been given the visa in the first place.....I was speechless. I just stopped trying to make sense after the flight had left. She wouldn't give me anything in writing. Where do I go from this? Do I make a complaint with the airlines first or is there a regulatory body/ombudsman that I can take it to? I'm based in the UK if that matters and hold an Indian passport. Thanks
I've read answers to this question both ways depending on when, time, airline so hoping for recent experiences.
Flying China Eastern Airlines, Budapest to Melbourne later in December with a stopover in Shanghai Pudong airport from 05:15 to 20:20 (same day). We've booked as a single ticket. Will we get our baggage in Shanghai or is it checked through?
The reason I care is we want to sleep during the layover and have a baby cot that we need and can't take as carry-on. Currently the hotel we have booked at the airport can't provide a cot so we need to find alternative arrangements if we don't get our luggage in Shanghai.
Hi, I'm kind of confused about my situation. I'm going to fly with Qatar airways from Germany to Indonesia (1 transit, in Qatar). I booked the ticket months ago and registered for a student club after, I didn't know, my friend informed me. I read that you can get 40 kgs of checked-in baggage with the card and complimentary wifi. My friends also have had those benefits and it works. However, I wanted to make sure so I contacted Qatar directly. The person says, that because my second flight is not operated by Qatar (garuda Indonesia), I am not eligible for the 10 kg extra baggage. However, I bought the tickets directly from Qatar, so because Qatar don't fly directly to Indonesia they have a partner airline, I guess. The person also says I am not eligible for the complimentary wifi.
I don't get it, I bought the ticket directly from the airline and will take qatar flight first, so why can't I have the extra 10 kg baggage? Qatar provided the airlines, all I did was choose the time. Could I maybe still show my student card at checked in and get it upgraded in person?
I (Indian passport holder) have a flight from London to Albania to Abu Dhabi both by Wizz Air and then from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai by Indigo (connection time 6 hours 35 min). I have UK BRP (residency visa). The ticket mentions- If you have checked baggage, you will need to leave the staging area, retrieve your baggage and re-register it, and then go through the security and immigration checks again. I have no check-in bags. My question is will i need transit visa for Albania and Abu dhabi?
Just curious if someone has a definitive answer: I fly through many airports in the US, and LAX is the only airport where TSA always insists I consolidate my bags before getting in line. For example, insisting I put my purse inside my personal item (e.g. backpack)if I also have a carry-on. I understand this is required at boarding, but why do they want me to do this before I even enter the line for security?
Hola! I just wanted to post about my Flybondi experiences, both negative, since I'm not seeing much info out there. Definitely spend the extra money to book elsewhere.
I had 2 flights booked with them, both of which have had major issues.
Flight #1: First, they switched the departure airport from EZE to AEP. I was flying into EZE and then connecting to fly to PMY from there, so this switch would have been quite a hassle. This was 4-5 days out from the departure date. Then 2 days before the flight, they canceled the flight. Because it was so late, I ended up paying another $230 USD more to book a last minute flight with another airline. From what I'm seeing online, they won't issue a refund for the initially booked flight unless you have an Argentinian bank account, so that flight ended up costing over $300.
Flight #2: The flight was to leave at 12:45 from FTE, and I had booked a bus to arrive at FTE at 10:40. I got an email from Flybondi to check in 2 days before the flight, and within that email I noticed the flight was now scheduled to leave at 9:40. I had to book a separate bus ticket (first one was nonrefundable also) to make it there on time. This flight also was initially booked to land in EZE, and now it's flying into AEP.
Basically just wanted to warn folks to avoid this airline. It's been pretty unpredictable and you have to really check the times and airports the days leading up to your flight to ensure you are there at the right time and at the right airport. Also refunds or compensation seem unlikely.
Good luck all!
Hello, I had a British airways flight from Verona to Gatwick, flight BA2591, leaving 21:25, it was 22 nov, the day of the gatwick security alarm so it was cancelled.
They offered me a rebook from Milan to Heathrow, the day after at **07:45,**and i took it.
But I'm without a car and had to take a train to Milan and an Airport Hotel for the night.
Could I try to get reimbursement for that?
I can help you out the other infos! 🫶🏻
Hi, everyone. This is my first time posting here. I'm a bit stressed out since I have never flown through FlyDubai. I'm travelling from Multan, Pakistan to Sydney, Australia and 1 have a layover at Dubai International Airport. I'm flying from Multan on FlyDubai (FZ 340), and then will board another plane (Emirates EK416) to travel to Sydney. I have I've already been to FlyDubai Airline office, and they said that I'll get the Ok to Board within 48 hours, by have only received the flight booking confirmation in the PDF so far. Is that what Ok to Board is? What do present at the airport when boarding the flight at Multan?
My country of citizenship is Pakistan, and my passport is Pakistan. I have the Australian temporary graduate visa (subclass 485) valid until the end of 2026.
I'm trying to book flights from London to Paris from Dec 13-16 to return Dec 28-31. Prices are very high, and I'm wondering if it's worth holding out for Black Friday to see if some deals pop up, or if those are going to be mostly for January flights? Obviously, I don't want to wait if I don't need to. Thanks!
Hi everyone, looking to go to Japan from UK in April. Flights approx ÂŁ1500 and not sure whether best to go for Emirates or ANA? Have flown with Emirates a lot approx 10 years ago and liked it, flight would be 8 hours to Dubai then 10 to Tokyo. With ANA would be 2 to Europe then 13 to Tokyo. ANA is approx ÂŁ100 cheaper.
Any advice would be appreciated!
I have a connecting flight from London City Airport (LCY) to Delhi (DEL) via Rome Fiumicino (FCO). I have a T3 -> T1 transfer at FCO with a layover of 1 hour 40 minutes. I am an Indian Passport holder with the UK BRP and US B1/B2 Visa, do I need an Airport Transit Visa at Rome?
(I will be returning on the same flight and doing the T1 -> T3 transfer on my way back)
