Booked our one-way Korean Air flights on Virgin Atlantic with rewards points + cash and I have someone to replace them with. Is it possible to call or chat to change the ticket to the other person? ( Willing to pay a fee if there is and what would be the cost possibly)

I was looking at some award flights on United airlines. I saw couple flights that said saver awards on United app but when I search them through award ticket on Turkish airlines app, it doesn’t show any of those flights. Am I doing something wrong?

Assuming everything goes to plan with booking 1 EVA J via AirCanada for Jan 2026, I need to book a second EVA J via EVA internal points/awards. Total 2 EVA J seats. JFK to TPE RT.

My question is how fast do their internal seats go? Do I also need to do 1 year in advance like Air Canada, concern is that I might not have my Cap1 or Citi points ready in time. How many award J do they have for their internal award redemptions?

Side note: What’s the fastest way to accumulate points (whether C1 or Citi) for transfer to EVA? C1VX Business has the highest SUB at 150K but they transfer to EVA @ 4:3. Any other way that’s faster?

Don’t see it on Virgin, Delta, or Korean Air, but Expertflyer sent me a notification and shows 9 seats available for 6/3/2025:

Any ideas on what I’m missing? AF doesn’t even show the flight at Saver. Shows as 169k.

I'm planning a trip to Portugal at the end of March next year. I live in Denver, CO, but am considering starting my trip from Boston.

Is it possible to build enough points at this point to get business class for two adults for at least the long legs of the journey? I've seen a few options through United with a layover, or TAP nonstop, but I don't have a clue what awards programs would maximize my options.

My credit is great, and we do spend quite a bit (~$10k/month).

The only card I have right now is a southwest card.

Initial investigation seems the capital venture X card would be a good option, but it doesn't appear that it would get me enough points in time, unless their travel booking site offers significantly better deals than I'm aware of?

On a slightly related note, we've considered switching from Southwest card to another rewards card, given our expenditure, how many free domestic flights could we expect per year?

After using a 1-month Roame Travel subscription, and facing many flights that show up but don't actually exist or have any availability (false alerts), I decided to try another travel award finder website and came across Seats.Aero. I purchased their one-month subscription to give it a test. However, I noticed that, unlike Roame, on Seats Aero I’m unable to set alerts for many routes.

I’m interested in traveling to Asia from Toronto and found that I can’t set alerts for several routes, such as Toronto to Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, etc. It only allows me to set an alert for Toronto to Taiwan. For other destinations, I receive an error message saying, “We don’t appear to track flights for the route you provided. Seats Aero only tracks routes with direct flights.”

Am I doing something wrong, or is it simply not possible to track award flights for routes like Toronto to Singapore on seats.aero?

Ex. YVR is on 747 :)

Looking to either travel to the Bahamas or Cayman Islands this summer and looking for the best redemption of points.

I currently have 400,000+ Chase UR points.

Hyatt Baha Mar (bahamas) has a great points redemption (29k points per night) but I’ve heard mixed reviews.

Kimpton Seafire (Cayman islands) has a bad redemption (70k points per night), but I’ve only heard great things.

Thoughts?

Note: I’m also open to other tropical places. Just not looking to fly for super long like we did getting to Hawaii!

Can't quite find a definitive answer, so maybe someone can help me based on their experience or knowledge.

• Flying from JFK to DOH in Business Class on Qatar, landing in the AM (Start to finish route- not a layover stop. 13 hour route)
• Departing DOH to MLE in Economy Class on Qatar, leaving in the PM of that same day (Completely separate ticket- 5 hour route)

Will I be able to access Al Mourjan lounge, even though my departing ticket from DOH is Economy, but my arrival ticket in DOH was Business? I've read a lot of mixed reviews.

• Some say NO, that it is based strictly on departing class from DOH. So since it's economy, it would be a NO.
• Some say YES, since my long haul was Business, and that it is based on the long haul class and not short haul class.

Any thoughts on the situation? I know I have access to the Qatar Arrivals lounge after immigration, but would much rather use the Al Mourjan lounge since it is a 12 hour stay at the airport.

I purchased a couple of Asiana tickets JFK-ICN with Air Canada award points. While I can pick my seats, I can't purchase Asiana's economy Smartium tickets either through Air Canada or though the Asiana site. Has anyone else been in this situation and is there a way too purchase the Smartium upgrade?

I'm going SFO to Helsinkin 5/21-6/3 (2 ppl). I have a few options (price per ticket, economy)-

1. $1250 Cash - United, operated by Lufthansa. Best preferred times.
2. 82K points RT + $116 fees Lifemiles, but the outbound flight has 2 stops instead of 1, and I have to take an extra day off work, because the flight leaves at 2 PM instead of 7 or 9 PM. Multiple short stops worry me because it risks our check in luggage getting lost, and we can't risk that for this trip. However, I really want to do Lifemiles, because I have 200K points I need to burn from Citi so I can close down that card and save the annual fee.
3. 70K 1 way SFO-HEL United Miles but operated by Lufthansa, 45K 1 way Lifemiles. 7 PM departure with only 1 stop on the outbound so much better flights. But I will be booking 2 separate 1 way tickets, and it will still leave me with way too much CIti points, and I would need to transfer 60K Chase points that I don't want to burn.
4. 56.5K+$285 in fees RT on KLM (operated by KLM&AIrFrance). Good flight times, not Star Alliance, so I lose any basic Star Alliance gold benefit or the ability to earn any points on my normal alliance.

What would you do?

Is there a partner booking I'm no considering? Does anyone know if I call Avianca, would they be able to find the Lufthansa outgoing flights on points that the united airlines site shows? We've got Citi, Amex and Chase points, and about 80K sitting in our United account.

Hi. So there's 3 of us. I have 260k Avios and 200k AA miles. The idea is to arrive in SIN (or KUL or HKG) on or around December 10 2025. We will be in Singapore or making a trip or two around until January 1 or 2 2026. We can leave from anywhere on the East Coast (ideally).

I've looked at some potential options through DOH and maybe HND/NRT. I can use the miles to get the tickets, or as many segments as I can. I can use them to upgrade, too. I also have 8 SWU with AA.

With so many options, I'm getting a bit lost. If this were your case, what would you do? TIA!!

The wifey and I are planning a trip to Rome next October and I have 300K Chase points to use. I’m currently not finding any great deals out there but what I’d like is business class(preferably United or Delta) one way to FCO. Am I better off waiting until it’s closer to our preferred dates to book in hopes of snagging a great deal?

So I'm currently booked 15 days out using AS mileage plan on BA 208, leaving 10:05pm. Ideally I want BA 206 leaving 5:15pm.

I've been checking daily to see if BA will release award space for that earlier flight. My question is if they dont open up award space I wanted to see if anyone knew if I'd be able to do a same-day change to the earier flight if I called BA t-24 once check in opens assuming space is available.

Newbie here. I just want to confirm couple things and make sure I didn't miss anything.
I booked EWR to KUL via SIN on SQ flight. There is no Economy option for EWR to SIN leg.

I don't have Krisflyer mileage whatsover, but I do have 200K United Mileage Plus.

1. I try to use https://www.united.com/en/us/fly/mileageplus/partners/star-alliance-upgrade-awards.html page and I believe all A350 flight are NOT upgradeable. The site also said the SQ class that upgradeable are S,J, U, and Z class. I never seen those classes from NYC (JFK and EWR) on any SQ flights. Do any of you know what are those?

2. My SIN to KUL flights is actually Economy (E). I assume since this is also NOT S,J,U, and Z, my segment also not upgradeable. Is that a correct understanding?

3. Just curious, anyone ever successfully upgraded anything on SQ from USA to SIN using United Miles?

I've been having trouble trying to figure out how to pull up my flight info for a flight departing Incheon to Saigon. I have confirmation number from United that the flight is booked, but I cannot find out how to load it into the Asiana app. I've tried FIRSTNAME and LASTNAME, FIRSTNAMEMIDDLENAME and LASTNAME. It all just tells me my reservation is incorrect. I'm trying to get this on my phone so that I can check-in via mobile.

As part of the award booking, I also am going from Saigon to Singapore - the Singapore Airlines app does see the Incheon to Saigon flight oddly.

Booking a flight from Narita to Seattle, I experienced something very odd I’m hoping you guys can explain. Same flight, same class (premium economy), was wildly different cost on BA website using Avios versus Alaska website using miles. Cost on BA was 51,500 miles plus $236, whereas the exact same flight was only 40,000 miles + $57. What is up with that? British airways says the cost is “taxes” as does Alaskan. What’s going on here?

Was doing some test searches for YUL to DOH to BKK hoping to get J in the first segment and then F the second but I'm seeing only all J.

I can see DOH to BKK in F if I search for it separately but never when I do it in one search, is this possible if so any tips?

Hi all, Not sure if this is allowed I guess but just looking for an opinion. Headed to Spain in May for 10 days or so. Was initially looking for 2 flights back to west coast where I’ll eventually make my way back up to Anchorage.

My current plan is to leave Spain and spend 4 nights 3 days in Frankfurt / surrounding area before doing FRA-YVR J on CONDOR, YVR-SEA economy, then a separate ticket to anchorage. I have this booked already 2 people 55k AS miles each ticket.

There is a ticket that is ARN-CDG-LAX on AIR France J which I could then hop to Anchorage from lax. That is 180k + $600 in fees or so which id transfer from AMEX. It leaves one day earlier than the FRA J, which I kind of like as I’ll be ready to be home by then. I kind of like the prospect of going to Stockholm vs Frankfurt, don’t love the points and fees cost though. Any thoughts here? Would you do one vs the other?

Hello Alaska experts,

My friend has a lot of Alaska miles that he cannot use (he mostly flies star alliance for work but has accumulated many Alaska miles over the years). I am aware that in 2025, if you book partner award travel through the Alaska website, you will earn EQM towards Alaska status.

If this person were to book a partner award ticket using the Alaska website and his Alaska miles for me for travel in 2025, would I then earn EQM in my Alaska mileage account when taking the flight?

I booked 2 separate award tickets MIA-HKG and ICN-MIA and neither have my middle name. As I recall, there was nowhere to add them as there was no option to do so other than putting it in the first name column. Booked with BA miles.

Is this a problem? I’m pretty sure I would’ve noticed the middle name option.

I booked myself on EVA J between HND and TSA (Taipei) on AC for 30k points next November when it was available at T-360. My partner didn’t want to waste points so opted for waiting for UA in Y for 17.5k once it became available at T-337.

I now no longer see that flight from HND-TSA being available for economy or business award redemptions on either AC or UA. is this normal for an intra Asia route…? There were multiple Y seats available.

I am confused how this happened I just assumed it wouldn’t be popular and I could wait until UA got its BR award release but now it doesn’t even show up on AC at all? Will it likely come back?

I’m trying to book a trip for a family of four to Japan/Taiwan from NYC in August. I’ve been checking for the United/Virgin websites the past two weeks to see if award reservations open up but no luck so far. I read ANA usually only opens 2 business seats per flight and it opens 330-355 days in advanced which I already missed. At this point, how likely are my chances to find seats for 4 of us? I have about 450k chase points so I can book a round trip economy flight from the chase portal. Is that a bad way to use my points value wise?
