how do you gain followers on ur fangirl tiktok account? like i told my friends to follow me but when i have 15 followers (new account obviously) i just don’t feel comfortable to post things knowing it’ll get 20 likes 😭

Sometimes I start thinking about someone I love so deeply then I come to the realization and snap back to reality that I will never know these people, they will never know me, be in love with me. Sometimes it feels like I can’t even attempt to find a partner because I know I won’t have the same attraction to them as I do to people I don’t even know and it’s ridiculous!! I know it’s so pathetic and honestly funny and I also know that I of course don’t know these people - they’re just like anyone else but it does feel kind of exhausting some times. I try my best to humanize them but sometimes struggle to. Does anyone else feel this way?

Sometimes I feel exhausted by my obsessing. I have so many different fascinations in art, cinema, television, literature, and music - and I want to consume content centered around all of them. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with how many passions are spinning around in my head and how many things I still want to take in. A very small part of me wishes I was less engulfed in fiction and media and more present in my real life.

Can anyone else relate to this sensation?

Inspired by the speech "Fan is a Tool Using Animal" by Maciej Cegłowski (watch it here; it's very interesting and entertaining!), I've created /r/ToolUsingAnimals, "a subreddit for fandom power users. A place to discover, teach, discuss software, extensions, userscripts, services, websites, etc. that are either explicitly for, or can be re-tooled for, fannish purposes."

I've submitted several of my favorite tools to the site already. Re: organization of the subreddit, I'm slowly developing link flairs and I intend to use Reddit's subreddit wiki extensively.
