i’m planning on going to MCM Comic Con London in May as it falls on my bday. I am 20 years old and I’ve always wanted to go to Comic-con but never found anyone to go with before.
i’m planning on going on the Friday as I’ve heard it can be less busy (if i’m wrong correct me lol) and i really want cosplay (something i’ve only done once but never in public). i’ve got diagnosed social anxiety and so I’m a bit anxious about cosplaying in public (less so at the con but more getting to and from the con). if anyone’s gone to the London before in cosplay, please let me know how you found it !!
something i’m confused by is when to buy tickets - i know they are on sale now but don’t know if i should wait until guests are announced.
from where i live it’s a 50 min train ride into most central stations so i don’t plan on staying anywhere in London as it’s easy to commute from.
any recommendations or tips you might have for my first comic con would be greatly appreciated !!
I'm planning to go to C2E2 but I'm not sure when to buy tickets or when they'll be sold out. I also know that some cons are more popular than others and will sell out quicker, so how do different cons compare to others?
Hey there,
I‘ll be going to the CC24 in Tokio this weekend and am wondering if there is any program in english available in the internet. Unfortunately can’t find any on their official website. Also is there anyone here who was in Tokios convention in the previous years and can give me some advice on what not to miss?
Any tips are greatly appreciated.
Best, Stephen
Pretty much the title but does it even matter if I do have less time on Friday? I haven’t gone to a convention since I was a kid and my parents controlled when we arrived and left. Please help!
Hey, all! I have a few questions, and if anyone knows the answers I would be grateful: I plan to buy a Legend Membership from the ComicCon Museum, so I can gain access to the event, but I'd like to know the guest list first - as the price is pretty steep for me, and in order to get to San Diego I also have to get a US Visa, to pay for the flights, for the hotel (so I would have to spend a lot of money)
Now the questions would be:
Is it too late to wait for them to announce the guest list, and then buy the Legend Membership? Is there a due date or could all the memberships be sold out if I wait too long?
When I try to register on the Comic Con site, my country doesn't appear in the list, there are only a few countries. Can I buy the membership and have it shipped to a friend from another country?
Thank you!
Hi y'all, I don't really know where to even ask this but does anyone have footage of the second cosplay catwalk (called 2B I believe, at 17.15) of the winter 2024 Heroes Dutch Comic Con? I found these on youtube: saturday 1A (https://youtu.be/3BEAasoOFIo?si=FZLh594hvyKbpAGt) and sunday 1A (https://youtu.be/8hueoBMIebc?si=OU6wfzkI8eSM0R0H) but unfortunately both uploaders mentioned in the description/comments that that was their only recording. I don't even need the whole recording (the cosplay I'm looking for should be among the last 10 or so I believe) but I have no idea where to even search/ask around the internet to find any footage. Could someone help me or point me in the right direction to look?
Hey hello! sorry if this seems to be bothering but i am writing about the Comicon taking at Romexpo, i was wondering what the usual prices were last year?? since im not sure if i should save up for the "Early Bird" Tickets, plus the costume and all or just get it when the tickets open.
I just saw that tickets for VidCon are on sale early and a little cheaper for Black Friday. I want to buy them with this deal, but I'm new to it so I'm a little confused. What is a community track? What is the difference between that and a regular ticket, or are they just one thing? And for two people, do I have to buy two community track things? And do you have to buy a community track for all three days for each person, or will one community track account for all three days?
If I could get help as quick as possible, because I need to buy tickets for me and my friend for the whole show.
(EDIT) All good now. Managed to figure it out from a vidcon forum site I found.
Hey everyone! I'm going to my first con tomorrow (Comic Con Stuttgart) and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the average price for coat check (Garderobe) and bottled water? Especially in Germany lol thank you in advance
I need help asap
I really want this participation award tomorrow from Birmingham ComicCon but I have no idea how to play this game… are the Gen 8 cards allowed or only Gen 9. And if so are the 151 cards allowed? I’ve played a bit of magic the gathering so I know how to do all that
I don’t need to win but I need to loose in style
Anyone know if there's any after parties or a general go to place people are going after the con this weekend?
I got a "frei Karte" I bought from someone online for half price of original it's for weekend, can someone who speaks German confirm if this is the same value as normal ticket or will I be limited, I have not been to comic con before and am a little nervous this may be a problem, danke
hiya! i’m going comic con tomorrow and was wondering how much would be like the minimum to bring for like atleast a small figure or a poster of some kind?
i’ve never been before so im just curious! thank you!
I’ve never been to C2E2 and I’m trying to figure out if the VIP cost is worth it. Anyone have opinions here? My wife would be more interested in panels and I’m more interested in comic creators and exhibitors. Went to FanExpo Chicago this year and the vip didn’t seem worth it.
Thanks!
Wishing all who celebrate a very Happy and Safe Thanksgiving.
So I’m going to a con next week. And David Hayter is going to be there (snake from Metal gear). I want him to autograph a PS2 version of Metal gear 3. If I get a never been opened and sealed version of the game and open it for him to sign does it take away from the value? Or add to it and where should I get him to sign it?
I’ve been invited by my father to go with him, though I’m only into western comics a small bit. But I’m into anime soooo much more! So I’m wondering if it would be worth going if I’m mainly just into anime? (Ofc I still do love some marvel)
Does anyone have experience tabling at Wondercon or know anyone who did who can share advice on how to deal with the event?
I'm looking for advice on what works with presentation of the table and help draw attention to my table appropriately, what would be great to offer over the usual stuff like stickers/pins/patches/etc., what to bring behind the table for supplies like food/drinks, if it's highly recommended I need a partner or can table alone comfortably, is there networking opportunities as a tabler/exhibitor, and if there's anything else I should know tabling at Wondercon?
I'm tabling at Wondercon for the first time as an exhibitor. I was influenced by a supportive art professor to table there, so I applied earlier this year expecting nothing and I got the good news I'm able to table there. I've only tabled at a few small local art pop-ups less than 5 times, so Wondercon is going to be my first large convention. I didn't expect the organizers to choose a small and niche artist to table at their big event, so I'm excited and nervous.
I'm selling the usual stuff like stickers/decals, prints, pins, velcro-backed embroidered patches, and one graphic T-shirt. They're centered around cartoon aquatic mammals, both real and mythical, with a tactical/military theme. Niche products in the works will be chamber flags with custom design on it and circle sticker targets for airsoft/paintball/range. No fanart yet, but in the works.
EDIT: Didn't realize my post was very vague with what I'm asking for tips and advice. Updated main part of the post with specific questions.
The big panel rooms (Hall H, Indigo, Ballroom 20, 6BCF) are overhyped. People are too fixated on getting into Hall H to camp all day just to see RDJ revealed as a new character.
The best panels are in 7AB and smaller. Star Wars fan panels all day. There were at least five different book panels with the authors. NASA revealed the first images from the Web telescope. Local and niche artists get to share their work.
You all can wait in line. I’m going to listen to a bunch of federal judges talk about the legal implications of Indiana Jones.
Title pretty much sums it up! It’s my first time going to any con at all and I got lucky enough to get all days for the con besides the preview night (I just didn’t really know what that was?) I was wondering if any of you have any tips for me, I’m definitely looking to get some SDCC exclusives so I was just wondering what I should do to be ready for this and if there’s any group chats out there? Anything helps! Thanks in advance !!!!
Hi all! We went to a con last year with my brother and both were dissapointed on the lack of second hand comic books.
This year we decided to rent a booth for ourselves. Our goal is to expand the selection and offer some older comics to everyone visiting.
We are also planning to sell some comic book mystery boxes and we would like to ask for your opinion on the pricing.
We were thinking something like this: Bronze=2 comic books Silver= 3 comic books Gold= 3comic books + funko
Any opinions and ideas are welcome:)
I have not attended SD Comic-con before, so if I go, it would be my first time.
I was unable to get tickets to the Friday/Saturday dates, so I bought the Thursday/Sunday ones thinking that if anything, I could always refund later, which is what I am currently considering.
I am assuming that since the Friday and Saturday tickets sold out long before the Thursday/Sunday ones did, there must be an important difference, but I have no idea what that would be. Is it due to programming differences, celebrity/artist appearances, etc...? I've read on other places that the "off days" are still great and fun, but I'd rather go in knowing exactly what the differences are.
Part of the calculation is also that Thurs and Sun are annoyingly separated by two days, and at first I thought, oh well that's a good opportunity to just explore San Diego, until I realized how much the hotels are going to cost - so ironically, it actually costs a lot more to go on Thurs/Sun than Fri/Sat especially if you are not local (which I am not).
But OTOH, since I already have the tickets, I want to make sure that I am making the best decision, so if anyone has an opinion on this, please share. Thanks!
Hi I bought the Young adult ticket (oldest 17) despite being 21 years old by an accident because I'm a bit of a dope and am stressing out about if the security will check and how much they enforce this. If anyone would like the ticket I bought a single ticket for 24.12 euro for comic con dublin 16(sun)/03/2025. Again if someone knows if this won't be an issue please lmk. I do think I went before and wasn't asked for ID but I was sixteen and looked it. Thanks for listening
Hey there!
This will be my first SDCC so I'm not really familiar with the process. I made the badges reservation on Saturday, today they tried to process the payment but it failed, so I went to the Member ID portal and fixed, went to the notifications area to pay manually, and it went through. I got the email and everything.
So what comes next? I won't be in the US until a month before the event, so I can't have it delivered to me now. Do I just wait and pick up the badges on the day of the event? Or do I do that beforehand?
Is there any page confirming that my orders are paid and I'm good to go? I'm not finding that in the portal.
