After watching the Live-Action Fallout Series months ago I said to myself "that was a pretty good show, now I wonder if they'll make an Elder Scrolls show as well". And for the past few months I've been wondering what a live-action Elder Scrolls show would look like. What tone should be, whimsical like Lord of the Rings, brutal like Game of Thrones or maybe a bit of both? What era should it take place in, the Second Era, the Third Era, should it be a tale of Tiber Septim and his rise to power, should It follow original characters instead? Please share me your thoughts and ideas on what a live-action Elder Scrolls show would be like.
I cannot remember the two voicelines Serana says over and over in combat. I remember one; "I knew I heard something!" but not the other one...
.. if anyone knows what I'm talking about please help, lol. It's driving me crazy that I forgot. Me and my wife say the shit to each other all the time and forgot it-
While grinding out the game during freetime in school or chilling at home, I got around to thinking about mechanics that need to be added or fixed in ESC.
To my understanding, Mer live a lot longer than Men and beastfolk. For example: Altmer can live 400-500 years, Bosmer live up to 200-300, etc. Whilst Imperials, Redguards, and Nords live 100 years max, maybe more if their lucky? So how come a Dark Elf has the same age expectancy as persay an Argonian? Maybe this too far stretched for how the game is setup but it would otherwise be a really cool addition.
Another thing that has bothered me since Sep. 10th is that subjects don't have a unique appearance. Just like in Fallout Shelter, one man will have a beard another will have a stuble, one woman will have short hair and the other will have long hair. It's uncanny to see Neloth without his beard and copy-pasted as every other male dark elf. Where is Isran's shiny cranium? And why is Tiber Septim a subject? I understand it's just a spinoff, maybe just made for shits and giggles, but I personally feel as if the developers got lazy as release got closer.
Remember waiting days and days just to max out one of the S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats for a dweller in Fallout Shelter? Well, maybe this is also a stretch, but maybe skills and training benches should be added into ESC like: Another bookcase that levels magicka and stave damage, a training dummy that increases stamina and melee/ranged damage. I don't know though, I would like to see constructive criticism about this.
To really personalize your OWN home, why not make decorate it with YOUR OWN decor. So what another better way to do that in ESC than to add customizable flags?
Unique armor types. If Isran is donning his Dawnguard armor, why does it NOT look like it? Maybe crossbows would be a nice addition too? It's not like anyone is going to use this in the late game, but maybe leather should be a starter armor too instead of iron mail.
And last, but not least; Campaigns. Y'know, like those questlines you can complete in Fallout Shelter, and instead of just fighting in an arena, you would actually explore room to room.
I am completely open arms to constructive criticism, comments, and disagreements. I would love to see what you think about these ideas and maybe you can add on? Talos Guide You.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how each Elder Scrolls race represents unique strengths, weaknesses, and playstyles across Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, and Elder Scrolls Online. I’m not just looking for a casual personality quiz—I’m after something serious, comprehensive, and in-depth.
My goal is twofold:
Optimization: I want to understand which race naturally aligns with my instincts and strengths in gameplay. While it’s true you can optimize any race for any playstyle, I’m more interested in discovering which race would naturally suit me best—where I’d feel most effective and engaged in both playstyle and results.
Immersion: Beyond optimization, I see each race as representing a specific archetype or class. If I were born into the Elder Scrolls universe with my natural strengths and weaknesses, which race would I most likely be? It’s about connecting with the race that feels most authentic to how I play and experience the game.
Whether it’s a detailed questionnaire, an analysis, or even community insights, I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions.
I have taken many of these quizzes, and some are definitely better than others. But I'm looking to see if someone would be interested in making such a test, probably.
I know there are a few people out there who might have a similar philosophy.
Thanks in advance
Title's self explanatory. Friendly racist debate.
Mainly referring to the first 3. Wanted to try out arena and daggerfall since I’ve never played them but I also haven’t played morrowind. Fake fan I know but my first elder scrolls was oblivion.
One of my new year resolutions is to play all elder scrolls mainline games.
I am completely computer illiterate, but the only way for me to be able to play ESO is on a gaming laptop. My SSD (C:) doesn't have enough memory space for the game, but the Data (D:) drive has over 900GB of storage. The laptop in question is a Lenovo Legion R5 and Steam is downloaded to the SSD. I had been using external hard drives, but I swear they hate me because they stop working on me even though I'm careful with them so... is downloading it to D: instead of C: possible? Sorry if this is an insanely dumb question LOL
Is it relatively common for people to enter into some kind of contract with some entity or even for the person to seek vampirism or even lycanthropy to be cured of illnesses? I wanted examples of this, the only one I can remember like this is Leila Montclair, who became a vampire due to her husband's whims, I wanted to know if there are more examples of this: Sick, sick people who become vampires, lycanthropes or seek some solution of this type for their illness.
Okay I have a thought experiment for all of you Ojels here. If we took the main Hero/Protagonist from each game and pitted them all against eachother in a big free for all, who do you think would win? I personally think it would be the Vestige from ESO, he's fully immortal, he was empowered by multiple deadra and the divines several times so I imagine there's residual power there he can draw upon, he's the only Protagonist to fight and defeat multiple deadric gods 1 on 1 and he can resurrect himself using soul gems (I'm not counting wayshrines because before and after the events of ESO, wayshrines are deactivated). But that's my thoughts, who do you guys think would win?
i see ppl mentioning this occasionally, is it npc dialogue? main story plots? what exactly is supposedly so bad?
i’ve played morrowind, oblivion and skyrim for close to a thousand hours in total and i guess some quests are goofy or storylines aren’t always completely logical, but is it really that bad?
Where in the world do you think is the most similar to in-game Stros M'kai
Specifically I'm thinking about the Bethesda official forums, I remember lurking back then, and reading all the speculation, theories and rumours in 2008/9/10 as to where it would be set, and what little "proof" we had.
Not much has changed 15+ years later, though we lost the forums sadly, good times.
(Don’t worry, I’ve already figured out what I was doing wrong. Made some progress since, I think I’m getting the hang of it)
Maybe expect the Redguards but they will get there.
The other Ashlander quests are fine, in fact most of the Zainab quest is fine, as well, except the part you have to engage in the slave trade and buy a slave to bring her back as a sex slave for the Ashlander chief of the Zainab. That's not so fine.
It's just...gross, and the game shouldn't force us to engage in slavery, much less sexual slavery, and further it's stupid since we can roleplay as an abolitionist yet are forced to buy a slave and bring her to someone. How did this part even get approved?
I know its a video game and all, but light in real life isn't an illusion.
In game the spell will light up the area around the orb and anyone can see it, its not some illusion placed on the caster or anyone that happens to be near it, Its just light that anyone can see.
Things illuminated by the orb aren't illusions either, it will accurately show you your surroundings, e.g. mages use it to read books and navigate in the dark.
Its literally just light.
Its not even an illusion.
I keep getting bothered thinking about it and wondered if anyone actually thinks it fits thematically. I would much prefer something like a low level destruction spell that summons a floating flame(fire hazard), or maybe even a novice conjuration spell that summons something like a wisp that gives off light and twirls around you.
Edit: Mage light is in alteration and I though it was in illusion for some reason. This makes perfect sense and I am at ease now.
Extra Edit: For anyone still reading this, this is my first post on Reddit and I have enjoyed reading all the responses. I didn't know if I should respond to anyone so ill just answer some things people are saying in this edit.
To clarify my opinion on what an illusion is, I just consider it any subjective experience unique only to those affected by the spell, like if you saw something I didn't. If I were to cast magelight in the middle of the imperial city arena at night, and then asked everyone if they could see it, they would all say yes, despite not being affected by any spell. Even if the spell is only an imitation of light, it still exists in objective reality where it can be viewed by anyone, Its not just someones subjective experience. If I were to cast a spell on someone that causes them to hear insane uncontrollable laughter, I would consider this an illusion, since the laughter only exists from their perspective, and not in shared reality. Basically genjutsu from Naruto.
Another thing I want to mention is that I realize trying to group every spell into specific schools of magic based on real world principles is complicated, and also not necessary for a game, despite it being a very appealing notion to me. Despite this, I have thought about it some more, and have come to the conclusion that mage light definitely dose not belong in illusion (I will get to it being alt in skyrim). So what about invisibility? Do I have any problems with it being in illusion too? Well, while I admit that it doesn't fit my definition of an illusion, I don't think grouping it by that definition is a very good way to explain the established school of magic anyway. If I were a mage who wanted to trick and control people, I would study spells like invisibility and calm, it doesn't matter that they don't function similarly, they make sense from a career/game-play perspective. Magelight doesn't fit this categorization either. As someone said in the replies, magelight is more of a utility spell, one that is not really used for a stealthy or manipulating play-style, but one that is useful to all mages and makes more sense under alteration, which is probably why Bethesda moved it to alt in skyrim.
So it makes more sense career/game-play wise for it to be in alteration, and makes no sense career/game-play wise, or functionally for it to be in illusion. Checkmate.
Or maybe it dose, I don't know. Its late and I'm tired.
More autism.
Daedric Princes have been known to take certain Dwemer items like Volendrung and Spellbreaker, so would it make sense for one of the Princes to have claimed the Dwarvern Black Bow of Fate by the time we get to the next game? It seems like it could have some really cool lore added to it and it already used ebony to improve, so it wouldn't be super out of place being owned by a Daedra
I am playing The Elder Scrolls Arena from Steam and the game keeps crashing when I'm in the Fortress Of Ice. Up until this point the game has crashed maybe once or twice before and now crashes what feels like every 2-5 min when in the Fortress Of Ice. Outside the fortress the game doesn't crash.
As the title says I'm trying it out for the first time on PS4 I've never played a game like wow or Diablo or something so idk what I'm in for so I was wondering if anyone has any like tips class . I enjoy swords and meele over magic but bows are fun
