Enlightenment is not just a window manager for Linux/X11 and others, but also a whole suite of libraries to help you create beautiful user interfaces with much less work than doing it the old fashioned way and fighting with traditional tool kits, not to mention a traditional window manager. It covers uses from small mobile devices like phones all the way to powerful multi-core desktops (which are the primary development environment).

I want to use the Enlightenment Desktop. Everything works except for one thing. When i start games/software that uses wine/proton with dxvk i have a blank window (but things like 7zip or notepad++ works fine). The software/game is running an i can even hear sound and blindly click on things. When i tap in and out of it it the window it shows a still picture of the software/game but not more. I tried different distributions, configurations and window managers (things like sddm, entrance and so on) but nothing works. Native software and games work just fine. Enlightenment version - 0.24.2. What should i do?
Where can i find up to date enlightenment themes ?? i have looked around but every one of the ones i find can't be downloaded anymore
I know I can bind keys/mouse buttons to change opacity, but can I set default opacity settings to windows or otherwise automate the opacity?

Is it possible to make similar themes like those of e16? Every theme I look at e17 or higher, I see the same window borders with the same looking buttons in the same positions. Only the color scheme changed. It's like Enlightenment took a step backwards. I've never seen custom looking buttons, buttons in unorthodox positions like on the side. Anyone who grew up on e16 probably knows what I'm talking about. Basically I prefered themes such as OldE, BrushedMetal, BrushedMotif, or ShinyMetal .

I am trying to use Enlightenment DR17 after a long gap - in Debian. I've installed the version from the testing repositories (0.17.6 - e18, e19 and e20 have not been packaged by Debian).
I am trying to run a script at window manager startup. However, E17 only seems to allow you to set "startup applications" using an application menu. There's no space for filling in a command line script. Hence I made a .desktop file for the script and put it in ~/.local/share/applications. It now shows up in the Enlightenment applications menu - but does not show up in the list of applications that can be activated for Startup Applications.
There is no documentation on this question and no other material I can find. Does anyone know how one can get this to work?
Thanks a lot in advance ,and thanks to the E team for this great software - just wish it was more widely used.
Edit: It appeared in Startup Applications later for some reason. Perhaps that's because I ran it manually from the Applications menu a few times.
Is there anything in enlightenment like mission control or expose (osx) or like gnome-shell where you hit a hot-corner and it shows you all windows zoomed out at once?
I've grown accustomed to this functionality and was wondering if E had it via module or somehow.
I've noticed that the tiling extension does not seem to tile anything but EFL and GTK apps. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this or had any insight into this issue. Any help or direction is much appreciated.
Went through the themes available in the repository and found one that seems suitable; however, its calendar is broken such that the current date is 'highlighted' in the same colour that the weekdays already are. This is pretty much useless of course, as it means that the only time I can see the current date is on weekends, as shown here.
How do I fix only that one part of the theme, please? I've never worked with any theme-editing or creation previously, so I have no prior experience whatsoever.
edit: [SOLVED], by /u/fistfulofbytes.
Thank-you!
Been trying to get some input in termenology and the other enligthenment application gtk, qt applications works just fine. But nothing in my new favorite terminal termenology.
I set fcitx as input in settings and added relevant exports in .profile & .xinitrc
Any ideas?
Let me preface this by stating I've used E17 for years, even on some grossly underpowered computers, and it certainly delivered on all those magical promises it made.
After running E18 for a month it feels... really unfinished in comparison.
I have to restart it every few minutes on my desktop (4 cores and a radeon 6450) and netbook (an i945) because it slows down like drying concrete. I get about 4 frames of movement in the workspace switch animation right now and it's only been an hour since the last restart. I could ignore that if it was that minor, but it's doing the same to the framerate of my videos/games too. And wallpaper in GL mode is completely broken on my netbook.
WTF happened? Should I just skip this version entirely and hope E19 gets it right?
