Hi everyone, Google TV Streamer 4K owner here.
I'm having issues with Disney+, as I can only play Disney+ titles after opening the app. They don't show up on the Streamer homepage (Netflix and Max titles work fine, I can see them in the "Continue watching" section) or in search results. Hope this makes sense.
Has anyone encountered the same issue? Any idea if this can be fixed? Thanks!
Hey everyone,
I’m having trouble with my Chromecast setup and hoping someone here can help!
I’ve got a Chromecast connected via Ethernet to my LAN. When I try casting from desktop browsers, everything works perfectly – they can detect the Chromecast and cast without issues. However, my mobile devices (both Android and iOS) don’t even detect the Chromecast when they’re connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Here are some key points of my setup:
• Chromecast is connected via Ethernet directly to the LAN.
• Desktops (both Windows and Mac) can find and cast to the Chromecast without problems.
• Mobile devices, when on the same Wi-Fi, can’t detect the Chromecast at all.
• I’ve tried restarting both the router and Chromecast, but no luck.
I've tried factory reset but it hasn't helped. Has anyone else experienced this or have any ideas on how to troubleshoot? Is there something specific to mobile that I need to adjust? Thanks in advance for any advice!
Hi,
I own the Mi Box S 1st gen and face issues, sometimes with casting, it is unreliable. I am looking for an alternatige
Which one is a good option? CCwGTV is sold out everywhere it seems, thinking also about Nokia 8010. What is a good alternative?
I value 4k, good update support, performance, reliablity.
Should be under 99€
Okay please help me, moved recently and I am trying to set up my chrome cast, for some reason, the app deleted my saved device so I have to set it all up again. When I go to add a device it recognizes it but every time it says connection failed. I have even gotten a wifi extender and made sure I am on 5g HELP ME. Just want my sweet tv so badly I feel like I'm going crazy
Hi guys. I own a bar and want to play a vídeo of foods and drinks on loop on my TVs. Is there any way to do this?
Just wondering how smooth your experience has been and whether WiFi was sufficient or you recommend spending on an ethernet adapter? Speaking of can you use the Ultras ethernet/plug combo with the CC w GTV? Or does it need to be specifically for that model?
Hi guys,
I'm having an issue with my chromecast audio which cannot play a big (7568 songs - 575h) playlist from Spotify.
When I try to connect Spotify to the device, I hear the pairing sound from the chromecast, but I cannot play any songs.
Note: I have no issue with a smaller playlist
Note2: I have the same issue on Google Home.
Any idea of the size limit ? Or any advice to fix this ?
Thanks
I use YouTube premium but my Chromecast 3rd gen still shows ads. How do I fix that? I set Adguard DNS but still shows them. It's so annoying.
Hello, i was a bit concerned this morning when I noticed a button in chrome on my work computer showing my daughters tv show was playing on our Shield TV, I never would have connected my work computer to any other devices intentionally in my house other than my wifi modem. Is there a way to ensure this is not connected?
Trying to load APK apps but it won't allow me to enable the setting that pops up. Any help would be appreciated
Hello, Since I bought my chromecast new this has always been an issue which I have now figured out how to solve to avoid issues but I want to now if there is a permanent fix. Probably every third to fourth time I turn on my chromecast it will not let me stream anything on any app, I can navigate menus okay, get to my app eg netflix, once I click play my screen will go black and sometimes show the apps loading circle. This is indefinite and during this time I only have control over the TV power and volume. I now know to solve this problem before it happens because when I turn on my TV I will notice a pixelation when navigating menus (see video). When this happens I know to restart and then everything is fine. Yes I know that I have semi fixed it but I want the inconvenience of having to restart all the time gone.
I'm sure there isn't but I thought I couldn't get a similar app to YouTube ReVanced & I got one! Just any suggestions would be more than welcome! Thanks to everyone 🙏🏻
Hello! I cast live tv from the Hulu app on my phone to a Chromecast. Everything has been great, but I have noticed when a set of advertisements comes on (the word “advertisement” appears in the top left corner of the screen), the sound will either go quieter than what it is or it will get louder. This will happen when the live tv show cuts into a commercial. The show will pause for a second, reload, and then when it begins to load the advertisement - I hear a high pitch sound and then the advertisement plays either louder or quieter. I sometimes watch on an iPad and I have never noticed the sound issue which makes me think it has something to do with the casting to the Chromecast. I was curious if anyone else has had this issue and if there is a settings change that can fix it. I am tired of having to continuously adjust the tv volume! I have already checked the volume settings on the tv and there is nothing special turned on.
I've looked everywhere in my settings but I can't find Install unknown sources it's like it's just not there I'm using a android 12 ones plus
On Google TV what is the purpose of marking something as watched?
I just want to use my phone and cast. I couldn't find an answer on Amazon or reviews. The Google TV with CC did let you, but it often didn't work and would try to force an app to launch.
I don't want to have to install apps and use a shitty way to log in all of them. And deal with them blocking shows until I update said app.
I don't want guests using apps logged in as me, and messing with my algorithm. I don't want to deal with guests accounts to get around with that.
I don't want to use another UI, that will at some point not work, have bugs, look like trash and be covered in ads.
I don't need another remote to get lost, required new batteries that looks and feels like hot garbage. My phone is a better remote, and you don't have to be in the same room to start a show.
If I want a full on TV streaming box, I'll pay more for a better one or just use the PC already connected to my TV. The whole point of the OG Chromecast was convenience. It doesn't feel like this new device does it.
Since I've started casting video from MS One Drive to CC about a year ago I've had no issue until a couple of days ago. I can still cast from other apps just fine, but every time I do it with One Drive now my TV just shows me the Microsoft cloud logo and the video never actually plays. I've tried restarting my CC but I've still got the same problem.
Hey everyone,
I'm implementing a custom dashboard using home assistant. I have a "magic mirror" (a tv mounted behind an observation glass mirror) i have it mounted in "portrait" mode. I've wrote some css to rotate the elements so that theyll be readable in this orientation, but while it works in the browser, the elements are ignoring all css when "cast" to the chromecast. Does the chromecast have a poor implementation of css? I think its a gen 2 or 3, does the ultra or "tv" version maybe work better?
Thanks!
The chromecast works great and so does the remote but to a degree. in the settings there’s the option to set up the remote with the options of volume, power, and input. i am able to set them up EXCEPT for the power button.
after setting up the options of being able to control the tv volume with the remote, it’ll give you the question “does the button work? yes or no” but even the the power button works, as soon as i turn it on, it doesn’t give me the option to agree to it working and it results to me having to use the actual tv remote to turning the tv off. not that i have a problem with using the actual remote, im just confused on how to fix the situation. is it because of my tv model or is there something wrong with the chromecast?
Risqué videos of skimpy women basically are being recommended on my boyfriend’s Chromecast under the YouTube app. I’ve asked him to explain why the videos are listed under his top picks and he acted genuinely confused. One video was a woman in little clothing cooking breakfast and he stated it was probably because he looks at a lot of cooking videos on YouTube. I let the situation slide. But today I was three more videos that made me uncomfortable. The other listings on his top picks are actual things he watched, and ironically, what he hasn’t watched are only the videos they make me uncomfortable.
Can someone give me a straightforward answer please? Either the algorithm sucks for a lot of people or is my boyfriend just a liar?
Edit: I’m at his house a lot and use his YouTube. The history never looks weird (unless the videos are deleted). The recommendations I saw were on the Chromecast homepage, but the recommended videos on YouTube are different.
I just got the Google Streamer (migrating from Chromecast with Android TV), and everything has been really great so far except for Netflix audio. For some reason the audio just randomly cuts out. None of the other streaming services are doing this. Anyone else experiencing this, even with other devices?
I'm having some trouble setting up my Chromecast. While going through the process, I hit a snag with the Google Arbitration Agreement. I followed the instructions in the link provided to opt out of the agreement, and I received confirmation that I successfully opted out. However, the setup won’t let me proceed past the agreement screen unless I click "I agree."
Has anyone else experienced this? It seems contradictory to allow opting out but then not letting us move forward without agreeing to the terms. Any advice on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated!
I'm just having a hell of a time with my chromecast.
I have a monitor I wnat to use as a TV, so I bought a Chromecast. My goal is to use my google home mini as the speaker, and also use it as a voice control to play content on the monitor.
To the best of my knowledge it is connected to the GHMini (as an audio output device) but when I tell the GHMini to "Play Futurama on Kirin's Chromecast" a screen on the monitor coms up saying "Ready to cast!" Which I presume means I cast from my phone. I don't want my phone involved, the Chromecast is supposed to play the content on the monitor it is attached to, no phone needed. I have never really understood the "casting" part of the product because it's not something I need or want. The Chromecast has google TV, and I want to play stuff using google TV. I can use the remote to play stuff. But I need my mini to take commands to play content.
Either I just suck at sorting through this (likely) or the way they've set things up is confusing. If anyone can provide tips, I'd appreciate it.
Hello i need help, this is a fake one? The box design its a little bit difrent that in google stock photos
Hi there. Long story short, my Chromecast is connected to my capture card at home and I can see the interface through OBS from my work place by connecting to my pc with Anydesk. The question is, how do I control Chromecast from the pc? I read all kinds of threads about it but was mega confused on how to do it. I just want to control Chromecast's interface through the pc at my home (Already set up access to it from my work place)
