Donating Used and New Art Supplies

I have been left a small studio's worth of paints, brushes, easels, and lots of other equipment. It doesn't feel right to give it all to goodwill or throw it away, but I don't think selling a bunch of used supplies makes sense. Are there any nonprofits / stores in the Atlanta area that would take it, and provide a receipt for the donation to help write off taxes?

Vet recommendation for euthanasia that allows me to be present but does not cost an arm and a leg.

My very senior cat is on his way to heaven. I don't want to just hand him to the AHS and not even hold him while he passes. Every other vet recommendation tacks the euthanasia fee, the vet visit fee because they "have" to do a panel, then the anesthesia, then the cremation.. then...

Good god. Anyone have a good recommendation? Your experience with your recommendation? Who to steer away from?

I just want to hug him while he passes.

Thanks to a pipe burst, bathroom floor and walls need replacement. Mold remediation is complete, just need a guy who actually shows up as promised and doesn’t gaslight me constantly. Thanks!

Quiet Restaurants with easy parking

I have a relative who has gotten to be rather hard of hearing, where places with hard floors and walls so the sound bounces has really started to bother him. He also finds places where there is no direct parking lot or valet to be stressful. (For example navigating through PCM parking lots then the building itself when google maps was misleading, or dealing with mobile only pay parking)

I found a previous post on this from 7 years ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/Atlanta/comments/73qy1z/quiet_restaurants_in_atlanta/) but I was wondering if there were any newer recommendations especially in the wedge between 75 and 85 north of midtown.

Edit: thanks everyone for suggestions, i have a whole big list now.

Hi, I'm wondering if there's anywhere in ATL (preferably in the NE ITP area) with computers that have access to CAD (Solidworks preferred)? Any help appreciated, thank you.

Where can I find mexican guisados in Atlanta?

I have been in Atlanta since 2008. I love mexican food and 2 of my favorite dishes are Chiles rellenos and guisados tacos. I have found some really good chile relleno but I have not found guisados. I know the dish might be a little more niche than chile relleno. Also, if anybody has any recommendations on mexican restaurants, I'd love to hear them!

Metal roof supply recommendations?

I’m replacing the roof on a small outbuilding and want to use metal roofing material instead of traditional asphalt shingles. I’m going to be doing the work myself. I was hoping someone could recommend a local company that not only sells metal roofing materials but can also offer advice/guidance/suggestions specific to the project at hand. I know I can buy all this stuff from Home Depot or Lowe’s, but I think we all know what level of expertise you’re gonna get from the staff in those places. Hoping for a little bit more of a personal touch.

Looking for Psychiatrist Recommendations in Georgia (Virtual Visits, Sliding Scale)

I’m seeking recommendations for a psychiatrist in Georgia who works with adults with autism, especially nonverbal individuals. My loved one also struggles with aggression (toward others and himself), OCD, and PANS/PANDAS. Ideally, the psychiatrist would offer sliding scale fees and be open to virtual visits, as it’s very difficult (if not impossible) for him to visit new doctor offices in person. Any suggestions or leads would be greatly appreciated!

Cooking Studios

Are there any cooking studios or private dining rooms in the area? I’m looking to host a dinner party with my own private chef. I thought about renting a bnb and letting the chef cook there but I’m just exploring other options too.

Where to see Santa?

Moved to ATL about a month ago and looking for a low key option to see Santa with my 2 year old this weekend.

Where we’re from in the Midwest there was usually a bank that offered a quick in and out option without appointments. Hoping to find something similar.
