I'm not sure if this is the right sub for these types of questions but it's worth a shot.
Located Sydney, it smells SOO good
The river I live near is low so I decided to take a walk along the bed and this pale purple flower caught my eye. The pods were open and had seeds in them. I researched what I could but nil so I’m turning to y’all.
We got it from the farmers market. There was no sign and all the guy told me when I asked what it was, is that it’s good with cocktails 😂
It smells like kiwi and mint but very perfumery and tastes like kiwi/cucumber/guava maybe.
Coming out of the jar? Looks like a seedpod of some sort? From an alchemical manuscript from late 17th century / early 18th century (Germany?) called Clevas Artis.
Bonus what are the plants beside it? Are these edible? I noticed a lot of herbs growing in this garden
This is in Southern California. I grew up eating these berries from my neighbor’s bush but it wasn’t actually very tasty. Nobody ever knew what the berry was called and today on a walk, it apparently grows into a very tall tree, maybe 12ft tall. In retrospect, I don’t know if it was even safe to eat, we were just doing it.
Anyone know what it is?
I really like the way this plant looks in the fall. I don't even notice it until fall when several branches of these show up behind an evergreen bush. Just for the fall look, I'd like to grow some near my herb bed by a fence. What is it?
