Would it make sense for either team to go to the USL-S league? (Im saying 2030 because I imagine Chattanooga, Oakland, and both Arizona teams would get ready to kick off around 2027/28 and therefore be only 1 team behind NWSL.)
My brother just got out of college overseas in England and is going to play semi pro. He has connections in England with Chester FC, Man City(through coaching) and other various clubs. Where could you go about finding an agent that is familiar with the USL particularly L1?
The idea I have is based on how the English system is set up, though they did take generations to achieve what they have. Also looked at how UEFA issues licenses to allow clubs to participate in their tournaments. They may quailify for a tournament, but if they can meet the license requirement, they are denied entry
My Plan
Georgraphy. The US is a huge country and as such, travel costs are a huge factor. The higher up a club, the more likely it can cope with travel costs. Clubs in lower leagues, not so much. Regionalisation is important.
We could have multiple leagues running a competition at the same level. The competitions would be regional. Discourage lower leagues trying to go national. As we move further down the pyramid, more regional leagues covering smaller areas.
1 MLS Premier Single Table 2 MLS National Single Table 3 USL Championship Split Conference 4 USL Elite East NISA Elite West 5 USL League 1 (South East) NISA League 1 (North East) Midwest League South Central League Pacific North West League Pacific South West League
At end of each season, after pro/rel is complete for season, leagues will rebalance to have the same number of clubs. Some clubs in border areas could see themselves transferred back and forth between leagues. Always keeping smaller footprints to reduce travel
Promotion - Relegation
Each club would receive a competion license. Each license level will be define by the criteria a club meets to obtain that license It would go from Grassroots to Elite Professional Criteria would be facilites, academies, stadiums, ticket base, ownership wealth and many others. Fee for the license. Each level of the pyramid will have a minimum license requirement. You can have a higher license in a lower league. If club wins promotion to the next level and doesn't have the minimum license requirement, they are denied if unwilling to meet the higher standards. Clubs would be given a varying timeframe to meet the criteria for the higher license before they are forced back down. It could be as lilttle as 1 season to a max of 5 seasons depending on the criteria requirement to achieve the newer license Clubs could choose to forgo promotion, remain at existing level if they don't want to spend. Making Promotion voluntary. If club skips promotion, the next best finisher could take its place or not Club subject to demotion could be reprieved if lower club chooses not to promote Ckubs will be re-evaluated every few years to see if they meet their current license and/or possibly a higher license
Number of teams in each league will fluctuate as teams climb or drop or fold. Expansion teams can bypass the promotion relegation if when they join they meet a particular license level. Only the top 3 levels can't have direction expansion. If someone wants a top level club, they can purchse the elite level license to use for their club, expand at lower league and climb pyramid as their build towards the higher license and league Helps build fan base and give fans the chance to watch their climb promote on the field.
Earlier this month, Transfermarkt updated its valuations for every player in the USL Championship.
Here's a look at whose stock is on the rise: https://www.uslchampionship.com/news_article/show/1312800
Three big takeaways from Tuesday and Wednesday night's action, and some additional thoughts on what went on. Oakland's third in the West right now, y'all.
Cool story here. Venezuela has been using the Tampa Bay Rowdies' training facility ahead of Copa America - it had to relocate from IMG Academy due to heavy rain in Bradenton - which brought it into contact with Tampa Bay's Venezuelan forward Manuel Arteaga and a good Hispanic soccer community in this area.
Anybody have any pictures of what their stadium set up looks like? I was watching their highlights and could only see the stands behind one of the goals but the reported attendance was over 1k.
There will be seven countries with either current USL Championship players or alumni from the Championship and League One at the 2024 Copa América.
Here's who you can look out for over the next month: https://www.uslchampionship.com/news_article/show/1312735
New Tampa Bay Rowdies Head Coach Robbie Neilson joined Mike Watts and Devon Kerr for an in-depth interview on the new USL All Access, plus plenty of other discussion about where things stand for Oakland Roots SC, the Charleston Battery, and what Memphis 901 FC needs to show to be a serious contender.

Danny Vitiello made his 100th USL Championship regular season appearance on Saturday night, only the 19th goalkeeper in the league's history to do so.
I looked at where he stacks up with the others to reach that mark, and a big number that currently defines his career: https://www.uslchampionship.com/news_article/show/1312726
Who's up for listing their Top 5 USL Championship Goalkeepers All-Time?
Recently I sat down for a Q&A with Memphis 901 FC's Akeem Ward, who's currently in his sixth season in the USL Championship. Two years ago he joined the executive board for United Black Players of the USL.
He had a lot of interesting perspectives, including on the way the UBP is working with the league on new programs and partnerships: https://www.uslchampionship.com/news_article/show/1312673
I got 2 years until the tryouts, what should I focus on? I'm extremely strong and fast, but with all honesty, my technical skills aren't the best, I played as a striker for 7 years, thanks to speed and finishing, I always managed to be pretty good, but of course much more is needed for USL, so what kins of exercises should I focus on? I got 2 years time to get ready for the tryouts. (I'm 18)
USL League One needs ti team up with the colleges, because they have so many soccer stadiums around the country. Like that super nice one at Grand Canyon University.
While reading the Week 15 key storylines on the USL website I came across a typo-most likely an autocorrect. Not unusual, but this one was to good to pass over. And now I’ll forever be calling the OCSC the Orange County Scat FC. Happy Monday everyone!
It's Monday! Time to pour some coffee and let's talk about this weekend's USL action.
Indy's unbeaten streak is now at 12 matches across all competitions. Where did this come from?
Will Miami FC win again?
There is no clear dominant team in The Simulation, which club wins the west?
etc. etc.

TBD
Hi everyone,
After a short stint in NCAA Div 2 I decided to pursue soccer full time in the UK. Went there with no network and got to a pretty decent point.
Went to Charlton athletic before Covid, now playing semi pro and working my way up again.
Due to my partner being American, I’m considering a move to the USA, ideally the USL but unsure how to make connections. My agent won’t help me looking outside of Europe.
Any help would be appreciated, PM for highlights as I can’t add links to this post.
Thanks in advance!
